Jeff and Jeromy have both contributed their knowledge , garnered by decades of passionate inquiry , to the southwest U.S. cactus and succulent community. Hidden Agave Nursery is a must visit gem for the agave enthusiast. Jeff’s Solana Succulents Nursery is a terrific one stop shopping experience for c & s collectors visiting SoCal. It’s situated on the cool , balmy coast. His selection is eclectic, priced low and nice quality. I’ve purchased a number of plants from both nurseries....... and haven’t managed to kill one...... . . . . yet !
So true, Steve. San Diego County has more succulent specialty nurseries and experts than anywhere else in the world---including South Africa, where so many desirable varieties come from.
Hidden agave looks like a great place to find just about any agave plant out there! What a fantastic display in the gardens! I hope to visit someday. Thank you Debra for sharing this!
@@QueenofSucculents thank you Debra for being a great resource for information about succulents and desert plants! And most importantly being a great person, that is classy, yet down to earth.
@@QueenofSucculents : Agave HoPa are hybrid agave of A. horrida from Central Mexico & A. parrasana from Coahuila in Northern Mexico. I thought it sounded interesting and looked small as Agaves go so I am trying it! I'll let you know how it goes here in Phoenix.
I swear it would be worth it for to move out of the southeast to have a garden like that. I can grow everything here, but all my favorites have to come in for winter. With some agave that truly becomes a task.
I've seen potted agaves get too big to be brought indoors and then carried back out again. They're heavy, sharp-pointed and toothy. Good news---more and more dwarf agaves are coming on the market.

Thank you for showing amazing new agaves and presenting such interesting people who grow them! Love agaves!
Do you agree that Jeremy's Hidden Agave Nursery is a succulent treasure in the hills of Escondido, CA? Fun fact: "Escondido" is Spanish for "hidden."
Excellent portrayal of all the hidden treasures, looking forward to visiting after I make an appointment! Thanks Debra!
I love agaves.
Amazing collection. We are blessed to have these experts being local in San Diego County. Can’t wait to visit there in person.
