"We don't need authentic leaders. We need responsible leaders." That is really well said.
A stupidly said actually 🙄.
Agreed!
It's not. It means nothing. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Ah yes the logical corollary being leaders that lie about being responsible. "I don't take any responsibility at all." -Trump on Covid
Congratulations on repetition
Intelligent well manner guests who listen to one another. Refreshing !!
Aye. I thought the very same thing.

Quentin is a true movie buff! I thought I was nerd when I was a kid because I loved old westerns and kung fu movies. After Pulp Fiction....when he became famous...I realized I was much like him. Except he can write awesome screenplays and direct incredible movies!
Tolerating trump...is beyond the pale!
And he is a Liberal and a "WOKE".
Yes! I was a very precocious kid myself; I am the exact age of Quentin Tarantino, and I'll tell you, I LOVED the R-rated, adult-themed films....kids' movies were a slap in my very young intellectual face, an affront to my adult-level intelligence...and no one understood me. My childhood sucked; I hope Quentin knows how lucky he really was, he had a progressive childhood!
This Yuval bloke with his soft talk. He is a dictatorial lunatic, the “mastermind” behind Klaus Scwhab, the Great Reset, and a one world government. He is a million times more dangerous than Putin. Shame on you to have him on!

"The wall between your brain and your mind". A great discipline most philosophies aspire to.
Who are you quoting? ...mind and mouth.
Not an exact quote but stoicism comes to mind Marcus Aurelius In his meditation speaks about this discipline.
"Humans are hackable animals." Yuval Harari.
So... we're animals? Deep thinker here.
Lol check out what the Napster guy said about designing Facebook. He hacked you
@@BigSnipp Any biologist will tell you that humans are one species of animal. They use the term "non-human animal" to differentiate humans from what the layman calls "animals." Humans are one of the great apes. Desmond Morris wrote a best seller about humans called "The Naked Ape." Biologists use the term "naked" to mean a relatively small amount of fur. One example is the "naked mole rat."
Speaking of animals...No one in the comment section is talking about what was said about factory farmed animal agriculture. Everyone seems to agree that it should end, but almost everyone creates the demand that they supply when they buy meat, dairy and eggs.
Can anyone refute any of these compelling reasons to boycott animal products?
1-Your own health (vegans are less likely to get several deadly chronic diseases)
2-Helping to end animal agriculture would reduce the chance of another pandemic & other zoonotic diseases
3-Helping to end animal ag would reduce the chance of the development of an antibiotic resistant pathogen.
4-Animal ag wastes a huge amount of fresh water. Each vegan saves 219,000 gallons of water every year!
5-Animal ag is a major cause of water pollution
6-Animal ag is a major cause of deforestation
7-Animal ag increases PTSD and spousal abuse in the people who work in slaughterhouses. Workers in meat packing facilities often endure terrible, dangerous working conditions.
8-Animal ag is a major cause of the loss of habitat and biodiversity
9-Needless killing of innocent, sentient beings cannot be ethically justified.
10- It is the single most effective way for each of us to fight climate change and environmental degradation.
11- Longer lifespan.
12- Healthier weight (vegans were the only dietary group in the Adventist Studies that had an average BMI in the recommended range.)
13- A healthy plant based diet significantly reduces the chances of ED later in life, and even 1 meal can improve bedroom performance
14- Vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of dementia later in life
15- A plant based diet could save money! You could reduce your food budget by one third!
16- A vegan world would save 8 million human lives a year, and $1 trillion in health care and related costs (Oxford Study)

@@someguy2135 I agree fully.
The point about authenticity and responsibility was actually very poignant
Yes but authenticity doesn’t mean what he described.
@@terriej123 Yeah I get what the kinda stuff the guy was referencing. I mean yeah if you are authentic and your an a-hole most of the time, then yeah that's not great. @@terriej123 From an purely objective standpoint yes I agree but as it pertains to voters I think the usage was justified.
Sadly, being in a leadership position or should I say, the desire to be in a leadership position, whether it's being a politician or CEO requires being what many would call a ruthless a-hole. Why? Because that's what it takes to make the tough decisions.
Bill totally missed the point. It’s not about tolerance, it’s about voting for competence, not a reality show persona.

The question about "what stuff that is accepted today will look bad in the future?"
The answer: the way we treat mental illness. There are so many studies showing that small controlled doses of psychedelic drugs can have incredible effects in treating mental illness. Instead we are still pumping people full of dependency-inducing pharmaceutical drugs that often have awful side effects.
LSD was originally used experimentally on prison inmates in an attempt to modify the behavior of violent criminals -- the film "Jacob's Ladder" fictionally suggested that the US Army experimented with a similar substance to create more effective & vicious soldiers in Vietnam War -- that movie may have been an amalgam of the Tuskegee Experiments on AA soldiers & Peter Leary's LSD prison experiments-- but anyway I agree psychedelics combined with cognitive therapy may be better short term answer to depression..the anti-depressant drugs now being used are bullshit and actually cause people to commit suicide which has been thoroughly documented🧐👍
Also letting kids have hormones and surgery is going to be way higher on the list that this psychedelic drugs stuff
Sounds right. Another standard practice that will be viewed as barbaric in the future is animal agriculture. My favorite guest was Yuval Harari. From an interview with him- “Science tells us that cows and chickens have a complex world of emotions and sensations. They too can feel pain, fear, and anxiety, and also joy, curiosity and love,” he adds. “Yet, many industries completely disregard the feelings and suffering of animals.”
He gives the example of the dairy industry: “[It] is founded on breaking the bond of love between mother and offspring. A cow never produces milk unless it becomes pregnant and gives birth to a calf. The cow produces milk in order to feed her calf, but then humans take away the calf to be slaughtered for meat and milk the cow themselves.
“This results in much pain and agony for hundreds of millions of cows and calves each year. Judged by the sheer amount of misery it causes, modern animal farming is probably one of the worst crimes in history.”-The Vegan Review

Very Real Thank you,Bill this is worthy of a larger audience. The subjects are all vital. Hearing this discussion
helps everyone who is listening!! Your attitude is SPOT ON, dude!
We're already in a recession Bill, it just hasn't hit the rich people yet. Grocery prices have doubled over the past year yet they've made record profits. Corporations are fuelling the recession with greed and using inflation as an excuse. The Fed should have started slowly raising interest rates a year ago. Now they're in a panic to raise it faster than they should and the shock is killing small businesses and making unaffordable housing even more unaffordable. The corporate thugs still got their bonuses though!
Recessions rarely hit the rich though .
I enjoy the mind of Bill and his guests. The foreign guy is right. We need responsible leaders all over the world. I would love to see the States connect more to Africa. Why can't people stay home and clean up their neighborhoods? I plan to vote Tuesday.

Thank you, Yuval Harari, leadership means responsibility -- not saying/doing whatever impulse comes to mind. I think Bill missed the part that Harari was focused on LEADERS, not everyday people. Leaders should be censoring themselves all the time. Because the precision and thoughtfulness of their words/actions matter, such that people could literally die when leaders are impulsive and careless.

Rich people talking about the recession we in and they all giggle. Not gonna hurt them none.
I disagree with the idea that all leaders at all times should have to bow to an ethic of restraint. When the system is corrupt and gridlocked, you might have to upset the apple cart. Hello, the US was born in revolution and he thinks it should operate like the faculty lounge at a university.
Yuval talks of dictators, has he actually looked back at things he has said over the past few years? This sounds like an image rehabilitation piece…

I was taught critical thinking skills in high school, but that was the exception to the rule.
Quentin's my favourite movie maker!
I was horrified when that rumor started going around that his last movie would be a Star Trek movie. I despise comic book movies most of all, Star Wars movies are a close second, and then all of that franchise shit - because we lose too much good talent to them. The idea of Tarantino going out on something that I wouldn't allow myself to enjoy was depressing. And I never thought I'd see another director with a track record like Kubrick's.
Cool. Check out the original movies that he stole from. My favorite is "Lady Snowblood", Manga and movies, which Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 is a total ripoff, frame by frame even... But Quentin knows no one reads old Japanese comics, or watches 50s Mexican westerns, so he can just copy movies and books and no one can do anything.

Professor Harari wrote a fascinating book 'Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind'. Detailing the development of humanity since the very beginning of time.
he is a psychopath that wants to hack humans.
"They haven't heard all the stories we believe, so they ask more difficult questions." - Now that was profound by Harari and Bill just glosses it right over, like it's a cheap joke. Come on man, deal with your boomer bias brother.
That is precisely Bill's shtick. He is the cheap joke of serious matters.
Responsible leaders mean transparency and integrity. How are you defining authenticity?
Donald Trump. But I guess it was just pure luck that based on empirical data every single thing on earth was better when he was President.
Thanks to ALL that bring us these informative & entertaining shows- Mr. Maher, Crew, People putting on UA-cam👍🏻👍🏻
Yuval is high up in the WEF, Bill, much of what you complain about stems from this guy. Bug eating etc.... He's against free speech, and thought. Not a great man in my standards.
Gillian Tett, smart lady.
I just watched True Romance again the other day. QT movies are the best. There are so many awesome "Holy Shit!" moments in them. And the dark comedy, it's the best ever. The actors in QT movies make the movies great but the QT movies also make those actors great - a rising tide lifts all boats.
He only wrote that one
I think we'll appreciate democracy... once we lose it. Much like we did with Roe. Don't know what you got till it's gone.
I'd like to see Tulsi Gabbard and Marianne Williamson run for President together on an independent ticket in 2024... and WIN!
Why couldn’t Gillian Tett just be straight with us and tell us that we are screwed?
She did.
We ARE screwed. Indeed.

Thank you for your reply.
Gillian Tett said it in a very soft manner which I didn’t appreciate.
We aren't that screwed though, don't think we are headed for 2008, looking at the corporate earnings its obvious people are spending and jobs are plentiful, we are trying to cause a light recession that can cause demand destruction (a shrink in demand for goods or services) since this is not truly a money printing inflation but a demand caused inflation. So maybe perhaps the stock markets will not recover until Summer 2023 but people will be fine overall.

Thank you for your reply.
I respectfully disagree.
Biden started inflation by stopping construction of the Keystone Pipeline.
When the costs of diesel fuel and gasoline increases, the cost of goods and services increases. Printing money causes inflation. Inflation hurts the middle and lower income families the most. I hope that I am wrong, I think that the cost of living is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I appreciate you for having this civil conversation. I wish that everyone on the Left and the Right could disagree with civility. I wish you the very best my fellow American. God bless!
On the animal as food part they certainly taste better when treated properly and aren't unnecessarily abused or stressed out. The livestock abuse is so sickening and counterproductive.
They do it for shareholders, not for consumers.
Yeah, it's pretty morbid to think that the "grassfed" or "free roam" label represents less torture, not even "no torture".
Here in Holland a lot of products that have animal ingredients in them have a "Better Life" label, which has a 3 star system, and most of the affordable products only have 1 star.
The 1 star is the bare minimum to apply for such a label, it might be a 'better life' than being tortured all the way to to the abattoir, but it doesn't actually represent a good life.
But, i happily eat my Happy Meals and cheap ground beef.. so yeah.
Money should be shifted towards better farming and subsidizing healthier food, but that would mean less profits or even whole economies having to reshape.
But that would mean more space needed for livestock, more investments into crew and facilities, which would be a reversal of the current course.
I would happily pay more for an actual "Better Life" burger, but of course, there's still the abattoir part, so it's all relative.
Clearly, i'm not ready to become a vegan.
I love you so much QT.
This Harari is a dangerous man. If you think he’s an angel, go look up his views on transhumanism and AI on youtube.

Shoutout to QT about The Hateful Eight. After 5 viewings, 2 of the extended [outstanding] version, I finally “got it.” Mental midget that I am… 😳
I self deprecate with that term also "mental midget"....I stand tall with you in comedic kinship.
Its a western version of “The Thing”
I hope Bill has that Israeli fellow back again. He has very interesting insights.
Excellent show!!! Great guests and topics!!!

Great panel guests @billmaher 🇫🇷🇺🇸
Love how Bill asked her an important question then interrupts her in the middle of her answer so we can't hear what she was going to say.
Bill missed the point about politicians being responsible with what they say.
I miss the 3rd panelist. Seem the show was broader somehow.
If you don't mean what you say, you will never say what you mean and if you never say what you mean, you will never mean what you say.
I remember when bill said he wanted the economy terminated if it meant the end of trump..... You got your wish
No he didn't and trump crashing the economy is why we've got Biden and things are much better now.
Yeah.. i do hate how he's not "owning" the fact that he literally hoped for a recession last year or so.
He doesn't even do it in the smug way of "told you so".
But it would go against his passion for Biden, so it's better to not mention it, similar to how he keeps avoiding getting into the Ukraine thing and only sorta celebrates any good news with "he's doing a good job!".
I like Bill on many other points, but i know that he will always be the establishment guy in the end.
4:40 eating animals
Edit: Honestly, I didn't think they'd say it too.
5:02 I wonder how anyone is going to feed humanity with animalproducts without torturing them. How exactly is that going to work?
5:46 also a problem strongly associated with animal agriculture
Recessions and overblown requiems for wealthy stockholders are a freaking joke.
Bill - you really have to tone down your paid in-house laughers! They're so obvious!
KEK
Dunno if they're paid, but they're definitely "professional laughers", i hate it when those people show up.
Bill even had a simulated crowd during the flu season, so it's just gonna be part of his brand, having an audience, sadly.
Tarantino for your Halloween weekend everyone goodnight :) 🎃
Mr Tarantino. Thankyou sir. For your absolute genius writing and movie making. Were not worthy.
HIS movies are stylish, funny... i love Tarantino.
@@bigelowtech or maybe he's using the advances in technology to bring said "unknown/unseen" films to life for the modern audience.
I'm not sure if you're trying to suggest that he isn't one of the most brilliant writer/directors ever... Because he certainly is. In my opinion.
And I'd like to think... Any film.. made or written by anyone will have watermarks from some previous work by someone else.
It's the nature of adaption. And we build on what we've seen or experienced or enjoyed etc.
He's a genius mate, and a really good guy it seems.
Why don't you take an old film you like, and try rip it off in your own way.. I bet your film won't be within a million miles of anything you say Tarantino has ripped off.
Give the man the credit he deserves.
@@thomaslangley1571 i don't usually respect people who steal movies frame by frame. I'm not talking about small homages or tributes to films he loves He denies this and refuses to answer questions about it in interviews. Are his movies good? No doubt, except his last three in my opinion. Are you going to deny that he stole kill Bill, or reservoir dogs, or Django, pretty much frame by frame, from already masterworks? I bet you haven't even seen any of the movies Tarantino ripped off, because you're a Hollywood junkie, like everyone else, so poor Japan just has to see movies being stolen, and they can't do anything about it because Hollywood is too big...
@@bigelowtech Tarantino has created a cult following - Cult followers only see what they want to see when it comes to the "Great Leader" because their worldview hinges on him being "The One" or "The Genius" - if you destroy the leader or his image you literally threaten their own self-image/self-worth and they will fight you to the death to protect that image as if it was a matter of life & death -😉🐾🐧🐉🧘♀
Also, not a good panel...You couldn't get anyone else to do a more political discussion in these times?
Pleaaaase Quentin, Please publish your screen plays. I’d love to read every one of them.
All his screenplays have been published in screenplay form. Once Upon A Time was his first novelization.
Bill dissing Fetterman and Walker in the same sentence is disingenuous and disrespectful to Fetterman.
Yuval Harari has called for depopulation of the "useless eaters." I wonder which group of people he's talking about?
Deplorables?
