- Hi in this video you'll see how I make this 3D printed DC Brushless Motor... WARNING! If you do decide to make one make sure you take some safety precautions as motors made out of plastic can be very dangerous because the plastic can give way at high speeds and cause serious injuries... Thank you for watching.

Hi... Love to know what you guys think... Is it Cool 👍 or Not Cool 👎.
Also leave me a comment if you have any ideas or suggestions... Thanks
Can I just say I chuckled because I thought I was the only one who used those clips to hold the bed down? Ha! Have a great weekend K? Dont listen to people.
Can u please share stl?
Bitchen!
What the file rtl sir
@@mrline8402 fusion 360 is free. learn it. if you're wanting to make motors you'll need that skill in the future :)
Good job. Ignore all the haters. This is all part of the development process. Every quality motor out there was designed through testing and trials making tweaks and changes learned from the previous model. They don't realize you can learn from this and improve on your next design.
Ok, so why they make motors rotors (in this case it would be stator) out of magnetic steel? Answer: to guide the electromagnetic field. It will never be useful!
Nate Sand People still uses the same design of brushless motor designed by tesla after almost like 80 years. Gets your facts checked it is still thr same design he just made a cheap ineffective motor but is good for fun.
Best part all the haters did is just hate. Did they build a motor and experiment? Nope. To all of the down voters and people who say it isn’t good, BUILD ONE YOURSELF AND POST in the comments for us to see.
Thats why i cant wait for version 2 to see how he imptoved!
What is the reason I should build one? There is no point, better focus on something that is useful. Motors doesn't changed a lot in decades, because they are as efficient as they can be. Stop daydreaming and do your research. I'm not criticising autor of this video, it is interesting, but useless project. 😂
That motor is about as stable as the 2020 economy.

@@Lesservector r/ihavereddit
It's bc for some unknown reason he decided to do a 9 poles on the stator which makes absolutely zero sense.
no, when coil is to be heated, not only 30min is to be stable
Dude didn't even balance out his magnets. Also, why is this triphase?
He created this for fun, not to make actual helicopters. Feels like 75% of viewers are perfectionists
Thank you 😊 you are right I did make it for fun and everything else on my channel...
Yeah don't know why everyone is hating
I'm here cause I want to build one for my helicopter. But I don't understand why someone who does something and makes a video receives so much hate even if the video is fairly decent. Sure, I wouldn't fly such a motor, but it kinda works
Fjcc hchchh
Mines cooler.
And by that I mean mine exploded and we're still finding pieces all over the garage
Lol
If exploded it's not cooler.
It's hot lol
U got me in a first half
They Got Us In The First Half , Not Gonna Lie
Andres C.Z. It cooled down real quick
The vibrations, and it needing help starting would seem to indicate that one of your phases aren't working.
I think poles should be symmetrical. There 3 poles per phase, but first pole is CW, second is CCW. So it can't be symmetrical regardless of the third pole.
@@fedegamer3781 Bell? You mean the rotor?
The rotor looks pretty lined up, though I just realized that the motor is a 9-pole which might have something to do with asymmetric forces acting on the rotor.
Dude theres a reason why motors arent plastic
I'm not sure where you're going with that point, as I've both seen and built 3D printed brushless motors that worked flawlessly.
@@Yakhontov Yeah that confused me as well... And how are there 3 wires coming out when he took one of the bundles and terminated it. He shows 2 others being wired up, but I don't see what the 3rd was hooked up to that is leading out to the ESC...
Okay. Now put them on a quad
That never going to fly because it wont enough power
Maybe a lightweight little wing with a wierd center of gravity xD
@@rengarider And it is super inefficient 😅
Right, do what the Emu says
And do 100 mph?
Cool seeing how brushless motors work- neat experiment!
So two question one how do you know which ways to loop the cooper wire and two like wheres your parts list?
How the wire generate magnetic field without metal?
Hello, excellent video! How important is it in terms of performance that the magnets are glued on a ferromagnetic iron ring or on the aluminum directly? is there any difference? thanks
Very nice! Good motor! Use electrical steel as a magnetic circuit.
And need add self start.
Hello. Great video. Do you know how many Kv has the engine? What is the shaft material? Would it be possible to print and assemble it with 50% size? Thank you.
Why the fuck does that matter, probably stainless steel, obviously yes.
Very nice. It can be done! Thankyou for trying and sharing! Now toss it on a lathe and grind that to balance, and even out your weird 9 pole idea and we can install it in my Nissan Leaf lol :)
Do you think that it is possible to use this motor for a gimbal?
I think that unless it's not running on a high speed it won't be a big problem
hello, is the filament where you wind the coil a magnet-iron alloy filament?
Can a drone be made with this engine, what should be done to reach maximum thrust power?
Thanks. I did not know it is that simple
Near experiment. Thanks for sharing that!
Thanks for watching!
So I made a motor myself and it doesn't work it like make a sound but doesn't spin it just moves back and forth really slowly do u have any idea what's wrong?
It was so much fun to watch this video. Keep going dude👍.
Thanks mate
it's important the core of the rotor to be a conductive material ( iron) otw you loose a lot of power
so the stator has to be iron?
I have the Ender 3 V2 Pro and I'm trying to find where I can get the models or learn how to make my own models to make one of these or similar
Can you use this motor with a delta instead of a star configuration?
Interesting project bro. Ty for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great motor! What power supply was used with the 30A ESC?
Great project, good on you!
Thanks 😊
Nice color effect while printing 👌
Thanks a lot 😊
How do you know what diameter the wire should be and how many turns to make?
what is the sequence and direction of the windings many thanks
Great!!! Can I ask what CAD software did you use for this project?
Thanks... I used fusion 360
man that’s hot. i’m here struggling try so a gopro bottom base.
Thanks mate good lucky with your project
Hello idk why mine doesn’t work it just moves back and forth but doesn’t spin please tell what I have to do
Does anyone knows how did he calculate the ESC Amps?
First coil was clockweis, secound is counterclokweis spinned, it is ok ?
i loved it.
i really would like to learn more about it.

Amazing, can you send us The STL?
can you please share the stl of the stator and shell for a project for my kid
Why does it have 10 magnets and 9 coils, unlike the usual 6/12 magnets and 9 coils? What are the advantages & tradeoffs?
What voltage and amperage are you running the motor at?
Nice 👌👌develope even bigger and high watt motor and also use delta configuration instead of star
just gotta increase the flow percentage to achieve the tighter fit
you need
Can I use this design to make generator motor? To make power.
does anyone know how can I get the dimensions of the 3d printed parts? is there anywhere where the stl files are posted
what kind of speed control devices is this?
what size are the magnets? and where can i find the stl files
Great idea.. it's not self starting because of the plastic right? Its not something else like in AC motors?
Awesome!
Thank you
Clean!
man , you are crazy!
You seem to be doing 3 coils for each phase. For the first phase, @1:30 you wind that pair of strands clockwise, but @1:44 you're winding the same phase counterclockwise. What's the deal? Was it a mistake or is there a pattern you're following?
When I was rewinding a motor with 3 coils for each phase I was wondering each coil counterclockwise and it works well. So I think it was a mistake and may be reason of these strange vibrations and not starting without starting it by hand
Que torque tiene?
Can I do that with windows ten on a laptop w/ an ender printer?
It’s all fun and games until *BOOM*
Thats the fun part😉
How long before the core starts melting?
Tg for PLA is about 60°C (140°F)
If the core starts melting then the magnets will be dead too.
@@mihaiilie8808 no, it's pla and gets very soft at 60-65°C
Subbed immediately! Great content
Thank you mate
which kind of insulator used for stator
No iron cores in the coils ?
Seems u need hal senser for starting tarque
Good, but it is not balanced, it is not efficient, it is not strong.
You need to use conductive material for the stator, for stronger magnetic fields.
You need to check all the magnets strenght and veight, and sort them by that.
ferromagnetic, not conductive
Ferromagnetic as the other guy said, but its main problem is the field of the armature, it needs more turns or as you say a ferromagnetic core.
@@baddreams0919 no, we need topolpgically isolated ferromagnetic domains coated with a supeconducting jan teller distortion to prevent the spin liquid transition.
@@richardedberg1119 I think we need oscillating quantum field generators with deuterium extractor going to the centrifugal processing core :P
@@johngriffin618 haha
Can you give me the design file i want to do a project and i need to do some adjustments to the design of the motor and print it afterwards
How is the calculation of the magnets and coils ? 9 coils and why 10 magnets ? Why not more than 10 ?
9 coil, divide into 3 phase.
Means each phase have 3 group coil.
Should use 3 pairs of magnet ? Instead of 5 pairs of magnet ?
This is really cool, looks very complicated tho good job very interesting
Thank you

Where can I get the file for the 3D printer?
Please buy a prop balancer or something and balance your spinning parts. You can use CA glue to add weight to different sides of your 3D prints.
Bueno, aunque el plástico no conduce bien el flujo magnético, talvez por eso no logra romper la incercia inicial

Hello, is a ESC controller already programmed when you buy it and you only need to connect it or do you have to program it?
You just connect it
Cool!
Can i ask you why this works? I know that a motor works because the stator has metal part wired with cables, so when electricity flows they became electromagnet, but in this case you wired pla...can you give me some explanation ?
What slicer did you use
What are the beartings for?
Really cool
Thanks 😊
Amazing 🤩🤩
Thank you
习近平 that is a bad name
I like brushless motor
I think the cause of the needed push start is the because of the strong permanent magnet used.
cool~
Thank you
can you give me the size of Stator and Rotor !
Dude, thank you!!
You're welcome
Here comes the BOOM!
wo kann man die Druckvorlage bekommen?
Great job! What slicer do you use?
I can’t tell you what slicer he used, but since it was on an ender3 he probably used Cura. For some reason, Cura reduces stringing and print time as compared to slic3r on the ender 3 and ultimaker. Long story short: for ultimaker and creality/ender printers, use Cura. For most other things, I would recommend slic3r, or if the manufacturer has their own slicer, use that.
Sir can í get files to get it printed or can buy it readymade printed
En donde está el diceños de la impresión?
Vc montou uma carroça?
what is the type of plastic use it in 3D printer
PLA
Buenas noches al señor que hace el motor una pregunta a donde me dirijo para la compra d vase para hacer el motor
Hey so 3D printing motors (of all sorts) when done correctly can be very powerful devices. The key is tuning your printer and more important use a metal infused filament.
Your missing steel lamination core which is crucial to motor performance. This motor will have very low efficiency.
The entire point of the video is that it’s a simple version of a motor that can be made with only a 3d printer as a proof of concept. A steel lamination would defeat the purpose, although it would improve it.
@@ProteinFromTheSea Well, but there might be a lot of people that don't know much about magnetism and that stuff, and as the video doesn't say anything about it, it's good to clarify it :P
@@Gonza0012 Yes, I agree. I feel that this channel should talk out loud. Also, I just remembered that they make magnetic 3D printer filament.
Winding coil is around plastic so it is air core and magnets has not iron back plates means flux leakage so result motor is not as much powerful as compared to drones iron core motor ,
Its game of power to weight ratio
Excellent job
Thanks 😊
Is there anyway I can get the files to try this out my self?
What is the soldering iron’s name??
You're doing a lot of that by hand when you could print little geared robot fingers that could for example do the winding.
Totally Subscribing this is on of the best quality videos on UA-cam. But next time make a time lapse of the printer printing it with one of those cool printing time lapses.
Thanks mate
The windings will be much more powerful if they are wound around a ferromagnetic core such as iron
is this
print one long "I beam shaped piece then dibide and wrap coils seperately before fixing into central axis. would make winding much easier.
