i already felt like the dart zone pro was a bit too realistic, this is next level and as you said it doesn't belong on a nerf playing field
to me the main appeal of nerf has always been the goofyness of it. Its not supposed to be realistic or super organised/high performance there is already paintball and airsoft for the people who want that kind of thing.

As a fellow member of the old guard (13+ years) I really appreciate the asside regarding balance and the glass ceiling of the hobby. Until recently there was a similar feeling with flywhees reigning Supreme and the decision coming down to ammo type more than anything, so it's not impossible for the hobby to adapt a place for something like this, but a rushed milsim rifle that can't compete in superstock spaces, or in your case at all, doesn't really belong in a hobby that by design has a low barrier to entry.

The "M16" AR15 platform was created to be comfortable, customizable, and cheap to produce in comparison to others. The more ergonomic and customizable a blaster gets, the closer it will look to that platform. Sure, you can use odd shapes to offset the real firearm appearance, but then you're at a weight disadvantage. Really, it comes to the balance between firearm appearance and user ergo and preference.

I’ve been shooting for a whole lot longer than ten years, and owned more guns than I could ever count, including three AR’s. I still had to pause the video just like you did. You don’t get to pause real life. Especially not when you suddenly find yourself in what could be a life or death situation.

    • @biosaber585
      @biosaber585 2 роки тому +1

@@Brogod19 firstly my point was not " oh cool look at me" I was making a point to Firstly respond to the joke question and secondly to make a point about how unrealistic it would be to force someone without the experience with firearms either myself or (supposedly) you have. Yes I can look at the intro clip and tell based on the cut of the barrel, thats also because im better acquainted with the AR platform than just about any other rifle on the market. Im also versed in how most of the airsoft and paintball variants look (which have distinctive changes to avoid violating copyright). But again, to expect someone to be able to make a snap call like that is unrealistic which is the point of my comment, I mean come on how many people regularly have over ten years experience in firearms, specifically in competition shooting, SSC, CQC, etc where custom rifles are common and then also have similar experience with the higher levels of airsoft and paintball.

What kind of 1st stage reg does that Ninja bottle have? If it's SLP (300 psi output) then it may be no surprise that the blaster does not perform - it requires 800psi input, whether bottle-on or remote-line.

    DRAC PLEASE READ:
I believe the charging handle allows you to pull the bolt back if it gets stuck in the forward position (a jam). This can be quite common in the super-cores where darts are stuck between the outer wall of the receiver and the pusher. This usually occurs when the darts haven't quite made it cleanly into the barrel due to sitting at the wrong angle or position in the mag.
It is quite disappointing to see a "so sure of the conclusion" review from someone who doesn't have the greatest HPA knowledge (which is fine and of no fault of your own). I think the charging handle feature would have been noticed if reviewed by someone who had spent more time shooting and using the blaster on the field or prior knowledge of HPA blaster issues.
EDIT^: This is noticed later in the video but it is clear that it had not been field tested when some of these comments were made. Can you honestly review something without actually having used it? and got to know it?
I appreciate it was stated that this is from a North American point of view and appreciate the time that goes into record and editing a video but as such a large UA-camr I'm not sure I agree with giving the product such a "so sure of the conclusion" review simply because you are not the target audience.
As a terrible and extreme example of this but... Imagine me giving a real gun an inaccurate review simply because I cannot use it in the UK. It doesn't mean it's a bad gun but my review would put people off of buying it. Now imagine I was the biggest gun reviewer in the UK... It would have a big impact on the communities perception of it.

It’s also too expensive as a system, period. I remember back in the day, we would tease HPA airsoft load outs for literally being “daddy’s money”, because it was. Parents buying their children nice toys is a beautiful thing, but don’t pressure your parents into buying an HPA setup. Consider the stress your parent might be under and realize how big of a purchase something like this really is and whether or not it’s realistic. And if you’re an adult yourself buying this, pay your bills first and then buy something more reasonable. Buying an entire HPA kit won’t really make you happy or be economically viable in the long run anyways. This isn’t meant to be financial advise, I just want everyone to be happy and honestly I don’t think anyone would really be happy with this product. Thank you for the amazing review as always Drac!

I dont agree with the hyper realism, but Drac HONESTLY does not know how to use this product correctly, the beauty of HPA is it is a fully dialable system. the problem with this review is he clearly does not understand whats in his hands. The bottle stock would have had this blaster humming as it requires 800psi to cycle properly... But no Drac in his infinate lack to do any real research on the product before attempting to use it, and then subsequently butchers the reviews just like his mods. As for the STEWARDSHIP of the hobby, please give it to some else, like anybody... Drac Bagged the crap out of FTW and other People who have created some brilliant product for our space, so it only seems appropriate that he doesnt know is product in hand, stuff it up on camera, bags it out hard, but when it takes off, "he supported it the whole time!"... Then being tagged or "killed" if you like should have a much more severe penalty for one.
I really shouldn't be able to be sent to the other team to make sure everything is fair for the players.
Friendly fire should REALLY have a bigger penalty.

I agree with others, I think this platform takes the creativity out of the hobby. I understand there are those who strictly want to compete, but those of us who have been modding blasters for a decade or more can attest that there's a level of ingenuity and imagination that goes into a great build, as well as a level of pride in fielding a blaster you've dumped dozens (if not hundreds) of hours into in order to make it exactly what you want. The fact that it looks so much like a real firearm is a con in my opinion as well. The last thing we need is a LEO driving by a public war and having the situation escalate into some kid's obituary over an avoidable misunderstanding, because let's face it, this will likely make it into someone's hands who will bring it out in public.

    • @andrewg_nerfmods

Agreed - you could make the case that knowing how the blaster is put together and how it can be serviced is as important with HPA as any other type of modding. I wonder how people without knowledge of HPA modding will go with this blaster when it requires servicing etc. As with any moving parts, things will come loose over time, o-rings wear out etc.

Absolutely do not mind the chat segments here, as they need to be brought up and discussed.
Personally I'm a seasoned airsoft and paintballer, as well as trap shooter and even a competitive air rifle/pistol target shooter. I've watched each of those hobbies get to where they get more and more expensive, and in turn more and more exclusive. In my relatively smaller area in Ky, that effectively ended the airsoft and paintball scenes, and while the firearm events are growing, the air rifle/pistol events are also dead due to the entry cost.
Nerf's huge appeal is fun that's widely accessible. It really needs to stay that way.

It looked almost exactly like a real-world firearm with a blue paint job. On the discord server, we had the debate of ethics (should it be allowed in most fields, etc) and the general consensus was “not yet”.
As cool as this is, I became part of the foam hobby because it was enough different from the real-steel world. This has a market, but me and mine won’t have this right away.

well first up, respect for just calling it like it is. dangerous toys can be dangerous for reasons more than "are you wearing your goggles?" personally i'm a longtime paintball guy. was pretty hardcore into it until some nephews arrived and shifted my attention more towards the nerf space. i do have a thought and a question though: back when i was still paintballing, fields were starting to ban full auto. "insurance reasons" so in response something called a "response trigger" was gaining popularity. it was TECHNICALLY not full auto cuz if you pulled the trigger and held it, it would fire 1 shot then stop. but if you held the trigger at a sort of partial pull sweet spot, it would basically full auto. could that be what's going on here? i honestly don't know if this is even still a thing in paintball but if it is, i could see people wanting it.

Here in the UK we have HPA for Nerf for years, different sites have different limits of Joules power depending on if its semi only or full auto, we don't actually require orange barrel tips over here but 50% of the surface area has to be red, green, blue or yellow. . . Luckily there has been no injuries or issues as far as I know.

Some crazy sites like one at Bristol have a 300fps limit and that can be full auto but full face protection is mandatory and its over 16s only. . I have found 120fps limit is the most common for indoor cqb and games with mostly kids. . I use a shop brought HPA bullpup I picked up a few years ago as it can easily be adjusted to the games fps limits easier than swapping out springs, I know fly wheels can have variable speed but I just hate the noise, I like to be sneaky and my HPA setup is almost silent. . . It's as close as I can get to a nerf sniper that actually has some accuracy. .
100% agree with not making the nerf blasters look too realistic though. . . You only need one kid to be running around at the wrong place for it to be a disaster.

Personally I find 250fps is perfectly fine, its probably the optimum for dart performance, my Axiom actually turned up being able to fire at 400fps, This just destroyed the darts and caused them to fly off all over the place with horrific accuracy.

Yeah, seems like you'd get shot over this thing unless you treated it like an airsoft gun and only used it for closed fields. Definitely an option for the wealthy, die-hard nerfer that wants to pay to use this thing outside of an indoor range toy ans can find some competition willing to do the same. I'd say paint the black parts bright orange to make it more toylike, but a guy just got arrested here in the states for painting a handgun to look like a toy, so now people are likely to be on edge about that too. Honestly, this is outside of the "safe to play anywhere" aspect that separates airsoft from Nerf in my opinion, and I think you'd be better off just either going full airsoft, or sticking to the semi-milsim springers like the Nexus Pro.

Milsig started as a magfed/milsim paintball company, trying their best to recreate real-steel pew pews for a rec paintball scene dominated by Tippmann (tournament scene's a different story). They branched out into airsoft, then into nerf, witch explains why this thing looks almost like a 50 cal AR. Other companies that went a similar route were RAP4, they ended up developing less-lethal and training equipment for the military and law enforcement; Tiberius, I believe they merged with First Strike, who made "rifled" paintballs pretty much, and they went on to take a large portion of the magfed paintball market.
I'm personally a paintball player and engineering student, so I'm mostly following HPA nerf to take a crack at designing my own bolt system for nerf, just for gits and shiggles.

Even as someone into the idea of HPA, and who mostly nerfs on a private arena I have a hard time justifying this one. While I think had it worked it would kinda have fit in the field, I don't think this is probably one I'll let in. Not only does it appear to be way too unreliable, but If I an organizer runs one, it would encourage others to also do so. I can vouch for my own safety, but I don't wanna later hear a buddy was being dumb with one. So If I ever actually get hpa I'll build it myself, and probably put it in something less milsim.

Second comment this one replying to the product itself. I like Airsoft, I think it's a good way to build familiarity with firearms, and to teach people interacting with others, team coordination and PLENTY of other things not worth listing here. I think its systems frankly have no place in Nerf as a hobby. I already was concerned over the designs we were seeing coming from a few companies like the Nexus and the Lynx, but I also realized they were still a distinct enough silhouette to not be dangerous. This is legitimately just a clone of an AR/M4 designed to shoot foam, it is unsafe and ironically feels like a company trying to begin a trend of gate keeping in the Nerf community much like Airsoft and Paintball can both have where its difficult to enter the hobby for a realistic price point for younger hobbyists. I applaud the attempt I really do, but nerf always felt like a very community driven sport that unlike hobbies like airsoft and paintball really were geared towards inclusivity and I think removing or losing that by going to these new platforms will likely kill the hobby even moreso than Nerf's current efforts with their most recent platforms and series launches

Is that a Milgauss on your left wrist. Great choice 👌

This is a shame. That's a benefit of building your own HPA blasters - you have an intimate knowledge of how they work and can ensure better reliability, accuracy etc.
Re comments about gameplay and balance - this is entirely a matter for game organisers to deal with. Whether banning, balancing teams, limiting fps / rof etc, there are plenty of approaches to integrating (or not) HPA - it's not just one thing that gets a thumbs up or thumbs down.

Yeah in my experience HPA certainly isn't pay to win even when it's a 300+ fps full auto monster. The darts are the limiting factor at that level of gameplay IMO which limits the potential of an HPA blaster. We balance teams based on blaster fps, rof and the player and have no issues with HPA dominating against things like the prophecy, NP or LS.

It a great blaster if you actually read the instructions and use the correct associated parts, which you obviously didn’t do
