I thought I recognized the name. I played you at the Chicago PQ - Palp green against your Qi’Ra green. I played Palp yellow a bunch in set 1. Great seeing some new ideas for set 3. Thanks and congrats!
Dude I’ve been playing yellow palp for a long time. As soon as I saw your top I was begging to see the list. Thank you so much for doing this and keeping yellow palp alive
Great deck, great games! We played Sunday, I was on Cad Bane (but I almost always play Palpatine) and I learned a lot! Nice report, see you next time. :)
I love this list. getting into the game recently and this one really struck me for sure. i was eyeing double g palp, what are some of the strengths and weaknesses of yellow vs double green?
In double green you net 3 cards. - Command - Mas - Lackeys 2/3 are 4 cost which isn’t great curve wise. Mas is an insane turn 1 but you lose a lot of interaction and space defense. Too much interaction for my liking. You lose hand hate in bazine and leader defense in NGTMD/intimidators. You lose palps 2 biggest improvements in set 3 (cad bane and P-38). I actually quite like double green but it’s just wayyyyy too fair.
Thanks. Definitely changing quite a bit, not going to reveal too much yet, probably will mess around with side ideas and see how they perform. Hoping palp can take down a PQ when the time is right.
love the list and the explanation you rock small question is kintan that good? i like to play salacious crumb for the bit of healing and the ping that help setup a flip, what are your two cent on that? And what about running some now they are two of them, you got quite a lot of underworld have you try it? and also somme imperials
Thank you. Kintan was great, way better than crumb in my mind. Exhausting a leader or unit negates way more damage than the heal from crumb especially leaders. The threat of making their flip turn irrelevant just because you invested 1 resource. My opponents usually all had to over invest into the intimidator. It’s also great at setting up palp’s flip as you exhaust the thing so they can’t use it before you flip it. Against quinlan and anakin it was probably the best card outside of NGTMD. As for NTATOT I don’t have any, but even if that wasn’t the case I’m really not sold on it, I just can’t think of a time where I’d want to play it and what I’d play it for. Our 5 drops are fine being naturally ramped to. I’m not sure I want another 3of 3 drop that does nothing once I hit 7 resources. I’ll certainly give it some testing but I am extremely doubtful.
That’s interesting for sure but seems pretty telegraphed and easily played around. I think that’s the only time it’s playable too, which I don’t think is what palp is looking for too much setup for a deck that’s already trying to setup palp. I’ll try it out and report back.
Do you think opting out of devastator x2 for 2 earlier tempo would be better? I know you said you used devastator with sneak attack as well, but if you swapped out those 2 devastator slots for 2 other earlier game plays or interaction, what'd be your next 2 in line for the deck (ignoring current sideboard)?
I never played them once during day 1, and I felt those 2 cards would be better off being the intimidators. Which I don’t regret as the intimidators were great all weekend. Especially considering my strategy was exhausting leaders and a lot of the popular leaders only hit for 2/3 they can be exhausted twice.
Curious about Vader as a 3 of. He's felt rather bad vs Jango space and Sabine. Just there to doubledown as a midrange killer card? Maul has felt better as he can 1 shot a lot of the leaders on the flip turn. Great run!
Thanks. Vader was amazing, I played him more often on 8 than 7 (because of maul and cad bane). Vader ambushing then pulling SLT on 8, sacking the SLT flipping palp then playing devastator on the next turn to eliminate what they were holding in fear of palp was a nice sequence. Pulling P-38 to make him a 6/7 and provide space insurance or pulling bazine to hand hate all felt extremely strong. Like I said my general strategy was to exhaust leaders and deal with them later and Vader was extremely good at setting up a game state that made sure I stayed ahead. Definitely a midrange menace. Maul was also amazing at dealing with leaders and closing games which is why I played both. Could you go 3 maul 2 Vaders? Yeah totally could, I preferred the versatility of a 3rd Vader over a 3rd maul with what I expected on the weekend.
I’m not a palp player myself but I’ve faced green palp a lot and that crumb/yularen healing/pinging engine they use is very annoying. I also noticed no ma klounkee which seems like an important anti aggro/space tool. You have the bazines, gunships, kintans etc.
Like I said in the video, this is not a version designed to beat Sabine. I was hoping the Han1’s, Jango’s, and heroic blue/red midrange would keep it down. If I was expecting a heavier Sabine meta I’d certainly swap a few cards around. For yularen he is much better in green then yellow you can see in day3 I kinda had the combo but it was more a background strategy after the fact. As for ma klunkee I forgot to bring it with me so I didn’t have a choice there lol but I never had an issue with space anyway. I think there was maybe 2 times I wished I had it between all 3 days. A different version of the deck could certainly run it to great use.
@@rando_mandodo you have a rough sketch of what you would play maa klunkee in? What would come in and what would go? Which cards do you consider good into Sabine? :)
Did you play with helmet or without?!? FYI: just posted link in Facebook where someone was looking for it so if you get a bazillion $ from UA-cam advertisers please don’t forget about me…

Thanks, yeah I had a just little bit of experience with the match up 😉

Amazing list congrats! Thank you for the detailed explanation, can't wait to try this out
Loving this! The Nordic Fleet Approves™
Thanks for posting this list. I keep debating trying a palp deck!

thanks for the rundown! i’m gonna sleeve up a version of this for my weekly local, i think.
Glad to see the return of palp, awesome video and congrats🎉
great job! how do you see yourself changing the list going forward now?
Thanks. Definitely changing quite a bit, not going to reveal too much yet, probably will mess around with side ideas and see how they perform. Hoping palp can take down a PQ when the time is right.
love the list and the explanation you rock

@@rando_mando I see NTATOT more as a five drop in your deck, to drop maul/vador/bane 2 turn earlier

Devastator is way too clutch, I would not opt out of it unless the game was all Sabine
why did u cut the sneak attacks after day one?
