I think this is my new reference performance of Chopin’s Fantasie Impromptu. Perfect tempo. I hate rushed interpretations. Here, you can hear every note in the dense 4 against 3 polyrhythm. Crisp, clear, clean. Your rubato is perfect. It wrings every ounce of emotion out of this already very passionate piece. Bravo! In my book, perfection. Thanks for this post. Made my day.
It's been so long since I played this, and it was the video that made my channel grow back then... Anyway, very smooth, flowy, and very dynamic. You make it sound easy!
Always beautiful to hear a Traum interpretation of Chopin. Noticed a couple comments involving the Barcarolle, so imma join in too, cant wait to witness the Barcarolle :)
Yessss glad to see this being a popular request! I don’t understand why so few pianists take it on! It’s Chopin’s most beautiful, musically matured piece in my opinion.
+1 from me too for the Barcarolle. It’s such a Traum type piece. It’s actually gonna be brutal if he posts it🔥🔥🔥!! It’s the max musical complexity for Chopin and only someone with musical understanding from Traum’s level can actually deliver it to us! Plus the falling notes and playing hands would be something that no one has done yet! Literally a perfect video idea🔥!!
the best performance of this piece in my opinion. I really hate it when people think fast piece = play fast = better, but this peice is fast but immensely beautiful so it should not be rushed
I absolutely love your piano playing. I've recently gotten into piano, and it's pianist like you who show me what this beautiful instrument is capable of :) Your playing is sublime, I'd love to reach a level near it! Stay safe, much love ❤

Great job Traum! I did not expect you to play an easy piece like this, but very nice Not my favourite interpretation but interesting choices you make, like the powerful middle section beginning (compared to most) I’m expecting to see some more intermediate pieces now!
Traum does something different in almost every piece, where the left and right hand are misaligned as if they are not supposed to be played on the same beat. He seems to be delaying the main voice very slightly so when it is played it is not fighting with the other voices and therefore pops more while making the piece feel smooth. This would normally be a sin and almost every piano teacher would immediately point this out, but I really enjoy this style because it just contrasts both hands so well without really sacrificing too much, and it is barely noticeable without looking at the notes being played

Frédéric Chopin was born under the Pisces-Aries cusp, which is know as "The Cusp of Rebirth." The meaning behind the name of this cusp is open to being interpreted in a literal or metaphorical sense.. as it simply refers to the position of these two zodiac signs.
Aries is know as the very first sign of the zodiac chart, and they're usually the go-getters who want to come in first place at whatever they do. They take initiative. They're a force not to be reckoned with, as they're very highly turbulent.. the embodiment of a volcano as their patience is on the verge of running thin. Courageous, bold, and fearless, they are born natural leaders.
Pisces is the very last sign of the zodiac chart. They are know as the poets of the zodiac signs, for as they feel things very deeply, having the ability to absorb the emotions of others and empathize with them.. in which this also makes them prone to losing touch of their own identity. These individuals are very highly imaginative, capturing the essence of emotions in their purest form.. often times getting lost in their own introspective worlds, as seemingly as if they were daydreaming. They are deemed as the most mystical zodiac sign in astrology because of their affinity towards the spiritual realm, and their understanding of the subconscious mind.
Basically, "The Cusp of Rebirth" is referring to the cycle of life. Aries being the first one, and Pisces being the last one in the zodiac chart symbolizes new beginnings. If you were to put all the of the zodiac signs in a circle following their respective order, you will notice that Aries and Pisces are adjacent to each other, they're neighbors..
Even better, how about this analogy? What month do these two zodiac signs share in common? March, of course. Aries is literally a day away from Pisces (March 20 to March 21st). They're right next to each other. The cycle goes on forever in the calendar, hence why it's called "The Cusp of Rebirth."
So, with that said in mind, is it worth noting that Chopin's character shares attributes of both water and fire signs; _"like cannons buried under flowers,"_ as quoted by Heinrich Heine.
