I'm listening to tons of true crime and it flabbergasts me how many people commit murder and then try to cover it up with 'She suddenly! took lots of drugs, then suddenly! attacked me with a knife, and in the process of ensued struggle she fell on her own knife and suddenly! died; so naturally, I've been in so much shock I spent the next two days dismembering and burying her body.' Or they simply claim that the victim died all of a sudden, and they didn't know what to do, so they hid the body, just like in this video's case. Hello? Now you're getting charged with corpse mishandling at the very least.
Gotta remember that a shitty defense is more the work of an idiot bonehead who handled the situation terribly and not calculated murder. I mean burying your murder victim in the most obvious grave visible to passersby would be something else. The toxicology report will say it all, lying about drugs when that’s the easiest test out there not smart. Assuming that the couple are telling the truth (which c'mon, they are not) I believe that disposing of the body in such a fashion is a very serious crime, at least in the US.
Yeah, it's also considered a serious crime here in Brazil. Which is why they're already in jail, waiting for trial, and their sentence could only get longer if they find evidence that they're also guilty of his murder.

The motive usually is right in your nose. They claim that he died because of an overdose. I say it was because of drugs, either money for drugs or stealing his drugs.
This is tragic and I feel for the family, but when you mentioned it was like CSI, all I could think of is Horatio Caine from CSI: Miami and his cheesy one-liners. Aparently they did try to help him. But he wasn't just high on cocaine, he was on some other stuff. Caroline mentioned in her testimony that they tried cpr and all, but he ended up dying. Also, I guess they didn't call help because they had a lot of drugs inside the house. Of course non of it justifies burrying someone in their backyard
@@pompeiiunicorn doesn't the whole CPR process include calling the ambulance? I can't imagine how the friend felt seeing his shirt sticking out of the dirt mound in someone elsee's backyard
The fact they hid the body so poorly actually makes me think it may have actually been an accident. Either that or they’re incredibly dumb because they made next to no effort to hide his body.
@@TyGuay Its also often used by the murderes to try to seem innocent, why would a murdere help in the investigation? Because they can get inside information that they can use to further distance themselves from the case but also to better hide the evidence if someone gets too close to it. Either the sister of the house if gang related, and that guy got a little too close to a gang hoe. Or the family owners are being used as scapegoats by a gang to take the blame and hide the evidence. Probably a little bit of both if you ask me.
With heart issues (which anybody can have most of their life without knowing) sex itself could definitely cause death, add drugs into the equation and I can definitely see it but I still highly doubt the story
Yeah, I don't think it's that out there. If he died due to an accident or over does, they might not have wanted to call the police since they would then be caught with drugs, so, while high, they bury him in an attempt to hide the whole situation. Unlikely and still fucked up, but not impossible.
@@dannystorey136 I don't know what the laws are like there but you can face serious charges in some places if you are doing drugs with a person and they OD and die. Yeah charlie acts like it's some insane unbelievable excuse, even though it's a very real thing that happens even when people aren't inebriated. But especially when they are. Some people just panic and think their life is ruined and they'll be blamed for things so they decide to lay low about it all. It's dumb no doubt but dumb people exist. All that said, I was 50/50 on the truth until I saw the sentence about how the girls family was apparently not a fan of the guy and her father had showed up to pick her up. Murder. He was murdered. Probably had cocaine poured down his nose more than partied too hard.
If they're sober enough to dig that much and drag a grown ass man into it, they were sober enough to call an ambulance. Do you know how long it takes to dig holes that big? That's hours of digging
@@flamingfoxx The body was sticking out, 2 or 3 people digging a barely ~3ft deep hole doesn't take hours. It would take them half an hour, if they're slow.
They need to be treated as criminals who have lied about all of this. They could have played a roll in his death. They buried his body! On their property. They didn't contact authorities yet they claim he just passed away? WTF? This is such a cover up of killing him
Everything in this case is weird. But one thing I guess news in the US didn't mention, is that he wasn't just using cocaine. He was also addicted to lança-perfume, another drug really common here in Brazil. The woman, owner of the house he was burried at, mentioned in an interview that at some time in the evening, Carlos left, and got back with 14 cans of lança, which aparently he used by himself. And one of the reasons she said to why they didn't call paramedics, or the cops, was because they tried to get him off the shower, and since it took too long, and he was already dead, they thought police would believe there was foulplay. So her husband digged a grave, and told her to push the body out of the window. Also, she told she wanted to call the cops, but she got scared of her own husband, since he beat her sometimes, and was dealing so casually with burring his childhood friend in their backyard.
When you think about it, if the article is 100% accurate, this story is insane. If it isn't true, there's still a dead guy buried in someone's yard. It's still insane. Imagine your last day being a coke and designer drug fueled orgy. Like...what? @@pompeiiunicorn
it’s not even remotely similar to that case, wtf are you talking about? they already had every possible piece of evidence they were ever going to get from that house. the murders happened years ago.
They say they have it all, but the most vital piece of evidence is how easy it is to hear through those walls. That means everything those sketchy 'survivors' say is pure bs and there is much more going on. If I were on the jury the fact they demolished the house says it all, not to mention withholding evidence from defense (and therefore the jury, too!). Giving it to defense and jury does NOT necessarily mean it goes public btw. And can't wait 6 mos for the trial to end? Give me a break.
This makes no sense lol. Their house never burnt down and the crime scene pics and evidence was what got the guy who killed them convicted already. Dude even straight up admitted he was the one. How on earth are these cases at all similar 😂
@@minxironwood it's not about the method or even the timing it's just the fact that it is obvious the house being demolished in the Idaho four case was done to hide evidence. And it was done by the police and the university in Moscow Idaho. The similarity making it very similar is that and that alone. It's sad that you didn't pick up on that. But who am I to judge?
I'm not familiar with Brazilian law, or how drug use is enforced. Is it possible they were all doing drugs, Carlos died, and being afraid to be caught in a drug use crime, they tried to hide his body?

Also, she told she wanted to call the cops, but she got scared of her own husband, since he beat her sometimes, and was dealing so casually with burring his childhood friend in their backyard.

it’s not even remotely similar to that case, wtf are you talking about? they already had every possible piece of evidence they were ever going to get from that house. the murders happened years ago.
