You can put a toothpick or a skinny fire steel next to the toothpick. I’m getting mine Friday and I can’t wait to start customizing. I’m gonna cut a smile face right where that line or a lock so I don’t have to mess with it
I have this and love it as my edc. I got a roxon m3 as well which came with the bit adapter/bits that I leave in my car. Cool little tools. Nice review!
I love mine. Well, I did. The spring tab on my scissors just broke off, rendering this thing useless. I’ve probably had it about 5 months. I’ll be shopping for something else. I used the scissors for all sorts of tasks. Too good to be true I guess.
@@shawnpepin7890 Thanks for the tip, they indeed sent me a new one. I guess they presumed I'd use my old one for parts, though, because this new one's G10 is flaking apart in layers, right out of the box. As you said ... I'd pay a LOT more for a premium version. The toolset is perfect.
@blackjackshellac5022 super glad their warranty is actually valid, I haven't had any issues, so have yet to test it, but am always a little skeptical of Chinese manufacturing warranties.... glad this is in my comments for people to see. On another note, apparently there is an upgraded version with d2 blade steel and upgraded steel for the rest (5cr as opposed to 3cr) so I think I'll have to get that one soon. Best part, it's only like 10 bucks more and comes with the bit kit (which is a 10 dollar value to begin with) its a no brainer, and really wish it would have been available when I purchased the original
I may have to give the phantom another go, the blade swapping is a crazy cool feature that is crazy to me that other companies haven’t tried to replicate. Leatherman would sell millions of blades if they made swap able tools on their models … I would love a surge with replacement higher end blades
Take a dremel and sharpen the edge of the can opener that faces in towards the handle and you could use it as a package opener... is that scissor fine enough to trim cuticles or cut off calluses (or i could file it finer)?
Nice review. However, “better than any Victorinox” is a bit of a stretch. I own the upgraded, elite version of the KS2 and really like it - particularly at this price point. Not better than Swiss Army knives, but a unique and relatively high quality design.
I own more than 40 SAKs in all shapes and sizes, The KS2 Elite is my current EDC multitool because It offers the following advantages over most SAKs: All the tools lock. The scissors are almost as good as a SAK, but twice the size. It has an inline reamer (some SAKs do, like the Pioneer X, but most don't) It has an inline Phillips screwdriver (Only the Explorer or the SwissChamp have this to my knowledge) It has G10 non slip scales. (some SAK offer non celidor scales, like the Alox and Grip series) It has a pocket clip (you can add an aftermarket one to a SAK) It's the combination of all these things at a low price point that makes it a great alternative to a Victorinox SAK for me.
@@AdrianDeLeonSaldivar They're nowhere near as good as Victorinox scissors. They are bigger and that's useful as long as you're just cutting paper. They're not as sharp, they're not engineered as well, and they easily fail when trying to cut anything thick. There are a ton of SAKs with an inline Phillips and even a few with an exceptional bit driver and storage for several bits, including a Phillips. The driver is always on the Cyber Tool series and a few others. Technically, almost every SAK has an inline Phillips since the flathead on the can opener is designed to work on #2 Phillips screws. I've never felt the need to have a pocket clip on a 91mm knife, but to each his own. You can buy and add pocket clips to any SAK though. The price difference is worth it for the better engineering and the lifetime warranty from a company like Victorinox that's actually guaranteed to exist for the rest of your life, while who knows about Roxxon? Also, the individual tools are somewhat functional on the KS2 and that's about the best you can say about them, while the SAK tools are always exceptional. Take the saw as just one example. It's useless garbage on the Roxxon and shockingly good on a Victorinox.
I've noticed people are deeply invested and biased towards Victorinox because their grandpappy used them or whatever. They have refused to innovate and make their products better so now the competition is stepping in. Using the same designs for decades is one way to become obsolete very soon.

That looks like another purchase I will have to make, the 3d head on that is the same as the updated phantom, looking forward to more videos.. 👌

I got mine in D2 to replace my Victorinox, I’m sick of my blades getting loose every time I use a tool

Can the pocket clip be removed?
You have to take the knife apart slightly but yep - The knife is made to be taken apart I assume as they do sell replacement blades etc
Does anyone's Blade lock up solid or not... mine DOES NOT !!!! Mine has WOBBLE and there is a rattle from the lock part... CRAP !!!!!
