Love THGTTG and all that followed. I drove my parents mad for weeks laughing hysterically as I read out loud from The Meaning of Liff (and, yes, I did know there were 2 authors)! Thanks for the interesting background stories - added a whole lot more to my appreciation of the man, his work, and the people around him.
I'm in two minds as to be either entertained or saddened by this. I have just finished reading the entire five books to my podcast 'TortyTalks' and like everyone else found the end somewhat depressing but, from an environmentalist's view terribly compelling. Yes, obviously it's funny, but if I start to get in to the minds of the characters I have performed over the last year, especially Random, I feel the pain that drove him all too deeply. Bloody funny though :-) Thanks folks... (sob).
I went for a swim this morning and forgot my towel. It happened before. The garden is beautiful, why spoil it with imagined fairies at the bottom of it? It does not concern me what imaginary friends people have, provided that those friends want people to play nicely together. And not send ICBMs to mess up each other's gardens.
I've never seen it, but it has a particularly bittersweet tinge to it as Douglas died during its long and torturous production. I often wonder what the movie would have been like it he'd seen it through to its conclusion.

Love the Hitchhiker's Guide Radio series, the Books and the TV Series but I really didn't like the Movie (2005). Terrible.
