I just stumbled across this, great sentiment in the lyrics and a nicely melancholy/melodic interpretation. How about n earth did someone young get so involved with this stuff?
Thank you! I was 19 at the time, and wanted to raise some money for Doctors Without Borders, spurred by what I saw happening at the time in the Middle East. Well, I wasn't sporty enough to run 5km, so I thought I'd act, sing, and play my harp for 14 (then 28) days running and see if I could raise awareness and some cash this way! But beyond that, I've been acting since I was 4, and playing the harp since I was 12, I think. My parents got me into acting and music. I owe it to them and to my friends, really!
Hi again Bella, miraculously I listened to this again at a reasonable hour, not the usual insomniac's very early morning. I am still mystified asto how someone so young would get to hear about Clive James and Pete Atkin. Anyway, your trained voice plain speaking the first verse then the singing really resonated with me. Even in the humiliation of unrequited love, this reminds me not to be fickle in my love-fueled outpourings. I meant it then and she CAN expect to be remembered, so I keep visiting her even though we both now have romantic partners. Hers hasn't got shoulders like mine...
@piersmoore1577 I heard about Clive James and Pete Atkin through my father. I grew up listening to Driving Through Mythical America and The Beautiful Stranger. Well, Piers, all I can do is wish you good luck. From my personal experience it's best to try and cleanly walk away from unrequited love, but I understand. It is difficult. She must be an extraordinary woman. Take care, friend.
@@bellac.s.williams4350 You've got yo use it or it turns black and drops off. Im struggling to regain my Italian after some years of neglect while still maintaining my English, Russian, Arabic and Hebrew, and all the while eyeing up a shelf of French books I want to be able to read some day.
