Hey Guys, I'm just watching your latest video right now and I see you found another Sand Majolica vase. Love watching you dig and I really appreciate being able to watch you without hearing curse words as are in some videos. You all are a bunch of good ole boys and I feel like I know you by just watching you. Thank you for entertaining all of us with your videos. God bless you. Kathy
Really liked the Coke and the whiskey, but to find a bottle from Arizona must be rare. Good job to Chris tell Trav he better watch his back your comin for his mantle.lol 😎
Hey guys, great finds, and enjoy your channel immensely. I live in Catonsville (Baltimore County) Maryland. And I have been bottle hunting since 1983. You guys uncovered a Caton Spring Water Company bottle in this episode. The Caton Spring Water Company was located on Edmonson Avenue near I 695 in Catonsville. Named after the founder of Catonsville, Richard Caton (who was also the son in law of Charles Carroll, the signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution from Maryland). The bottling works sat on top of an artesian well that had natural effervescence. They added flavors to the water. And with the taste test, on the seventh flavor, a lemon lime flavor, a tester gave two thumbs up. This is where 7Up actually started. And about a half mile away, another soda company was started in Catonsville at 28 Bloomsbury Avenue, Frostie Root Beer. The Caton Spring Water moniker disappeared in the 1930s. Your version was from about 1904 to about 1914. Hope this helps.
Fellows I love y'all's videos. I've been metal detecting for 35yrs. And enjoy bottle hunting also. But. You guys take the hunt to another level. Would love to know where your located. I would enjoy taking my skills in metal detecting with your passion in bottles. I'm in martinsville va. Close to Greensboro and Roanoke va. Would atleast like to meet you guys and treat y'all out to lunch. Y'all really know how to enjoy life. Keep up the awesome videos.
Thanks I know I have alot to learn but like I told travis I'm learning from the best in the business I'm so very grateful for travis and Cory I'm picking stuff up fast but I need to get more comfortable filming all in due time 🙂🙃🙂thanks for the kind words!
Yay! A new video. Ive been waiting. Regarding the spoon: with very few exceptions, (i.e. truly ancient items), sterling will ALWAYS be marked either Sterling or 925. The mirror no doubt had an ornate porcelain backing. Stellar whiskey bottle..congratulations!! And Chris: good job on your solo video. I, too, would have stayed on digging!
The spoon could be coin silver, not marked by the maker. I've found it at estate sales and they think just because it isn't marked sterling, that's it's plate but, that's not always the case. So check your spoon to see if it is coin silver. Keep a diggin' boys! I love it! Be Blessed. God is so GOOD!
Wow. Kentucky whiskey bottle! Amazing. I love watching yall. You are more dedicated than I would be in those temps but I've dug in 100 degree Georgia heat so dont know which is worse lol. Keep digging and finding great stuff. Oh, and that Coke bottle yall found was awesome. Being from Georgia and the Atlanta area it holds a special place in my heart.
I live in Louisville Kentucky and that whiskey bottle you just found be perfect for the downtown whiskey Row to display for what their bottles look like in the past.
That handled thing you are looking at at about 13:42 min looks like a hand mirror. Would have gone on a ladies vanity, probably had a hair brush to match.
Nice video guys the Coke Cola is sweet as well as the Whiskey Bottle. Chris you did a great job filling in for Travis. Take care and stay safe gentlemen.✌
Nice Coke bottle, and what a variety of other bottles too! Its been cold here in Michigan too, we have plenty of snow and it was 4 degrees here this morning. I'm glad you have your priorities straight, got up, and got out!
Just found your channel today and I'm really enjoying it. As soon as I tuned in I knew I'd be a new subscriber! Always wanted to dig dumps and privies, so watching y'all is very satisfying for me. (Psst: we don't have permafrost here in the USA! 🤔 Permafrost is frozen ground that doesn’t thaw even in the warmer seasons due to being located in a cold climate, where the ground is frozen all year-round. It's widespread in the Arctic regions of Siberia, Canada, Greenland, and Alaska. Thought you might want to know!) 🤗
So you are saying my darn truck isn't permafrosted right now? Lol looks like I'll need an excavator or backhoe to get into it. Great content I just found channel.
i love the stuff you kids dig , i watch your program from Athens Greece ....they don't do anything like this over here , and ,. i bet you therer's lots of stuff to be found and dug up in our old dumps as well , i love bottles , good for you , thanks for sharing with us.
I have a good amount of bottles that my Dad and Mom, family dug in the 70's. We did everything, metal detected, arrow head hunted, bottle dug, hunted, fished, trapped etc. They were some good times. We found a few poison bottles back then. I have one I just located in the buckets of bottles in my garage. Small brown pill bottle P.D. co. 562. Just wondering what it is. I know you guys or Dave Beeler would be the ones to ask. Love all your videos, but really enjoy the privy digs the most. Take care!
I just started watching your site...it is so interesting..I just wish you would have shown the cleaned up pitcher with the flower....( I am a woman)....all the same it was so neat seeing history in a bottle.Ty..keep on vlogging
HELLO FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA 🌵 OLD WEST HERE!! LOVE YOUR DIGGINGS ON YOUR TREASURES FOUND. SOME UNIQUE FINDS OF YOURS. LOVE YOUR FINDS I FEEL LIKE IM WITH YOU IN THE HAUNTS. THANK YOU SO MUCH .
You know guys all those bits of broken plates with designs and the brass thing, to me it looked like a ceramic vanity mirror. The ceramic pieces with a design would be of interest to crafters! I know I’d love to have them! If you ever take a notion to gather up some bits for your auction. 😃😃
Pond’s Bitters “Makes You Go Some” The story here is about three related Chicago-sold bitters. The first is Lash’s Bitters from California which inspired Rex Bitters and Pond’s Bitters, the subject of this post. Pond’s Bitters was a direct competitor of their Windy City rival, Rex Bitters. These were primarily bitters sold as a laxative and ‘a permanent cure for constipation’ but contained quite a bit of alcohol. Pond's Bitters Company In 1909, George M. Pond left Lash's and formed his own firm, Pond's Bitters Company at 147 Fulton Street in Chicago.
Travis thinking back I found a oval shaped piece of porcelain with some fancy stuff on it I was almost sure that it was a mirror back so maybe that's the same deal? With the mysterious mirror
Yes I do believe so I was thrown off because of the plate but apparently they used to have a porcelain backing behind the glass so I think that’s what was left of it.
Not sure what Twinplex is but my first idea was one of those old wall mounted pencil sharpeners every classroom used to have before the electric ones. I remember using them back in like 4th grade right before they went electric
If you would collect a bucket of broken plates, stoneware, etc. I would gladly take them off your hands. Im an artist and a gardner and would love to use it! Love this channel! Thanks!!
The frame with the handle and the plate in it , would have been a mirror and the plate would have been the back side and most likely would have had a scene painted on it. Also the round lense you found was most definetly a lense from sunglasses. Benfranklin had atleast one pair of his own.
It looks like you guys are not saving the pieces of broken pottery and plates. I think you should save them and make something from the pieces, like pendants . I’ve seen that done.🙏🤣👋👍
😂 not so much digging in dumps or privy’s but crawl spaces is another story. Crawl spaces look like something out of a nightmare 😂 but they don’t bother me.
The Coke bottle is old enough to have contained "The real thing"! Meaning cocaine..A real pick me up!!!😎😜 I'm aware that y'all are pros but, have you tried the very tough nylon little digging tool? Won't be scratching or breaking your finds..

Congrats on the embossed whiskey Travis! I've used broken plates to dig with before especially when I had nothing else. They work!
Chris did a fantastic job finishing the video.

Certainly some things to google concerning silver: sterling, coin, German, and Mexican silvers.

What amazing bottles, guys! Block Letter Coke, embossed whiskey, all kinds of beers, milks, sodas, and inks! What a great dump!💖
I live in Louisville Kentucky and that whiskey bottle you just found be perfect for the downtown whiskey Row to display for what their bottles look like in the past.
Sorry brother man it has already sold
The "Twin Flex" look like the back of an old camera. The bar inside looks like the film take up wheel.
Awesome dump Travis! I'm betting there's even more goodies in there!!

I feel your pain, Ms Pete. I am over near Lake Michigan, central state, and we, too, have had a frigid couple of weeks!
@@laurelshugars2866 the temp has been anywhere from 12°to17°everytime we have dug its even cold in maryland 🥶

Hey Chris you done a good job filming & commentating. Good to have you on Crick Diggers.
I'm excited to see a spring water bottle. I've never seen one before. Good find. A wealthier household for sure. Do you know the history of the site?
That broken insulator was a CD162, most likely a Hemingray which luckily wasn't a real expensive one.

Just cut copper 😊
Love your videos! Great finds! A lot of hard work in that cold weather. Y’all take care and stay safe.

Cool video.just in case u don't know.u can take those broken top bottles and cut them on a tile saw and make glasses from them.
Ive dug some bottles embossd with "PONDS EXTRACT, 1846" before, perhaps it is the same company as that ponds bitters?

Those are early sunglass lenses. Green lenses were often used by sharpshooters. Green lenses block blue light, which yields clearer images.
That is what I thought also!
Ditto.

Was wondering why you guys dont use headlamps to see better in the dark places 🐸
That looks like a spectacle lens. thank you for sharing what you did
My grandma owned a vase made the same. Different shape. Yes, with the flowers.
My older brother owns it now.
They had sunglasses as far back as I believe the 1880s maybe even earlier emerald green was a common color

Agreed. They always had some sort of ornate backing.
@Chris Wright
Check the ornate handle from that broken mirror for marks like "925" and "Sterling Silver"... you never know!
At about 14:00, wasn't it an old and mirror?
Yes I do believe so I was thrown off because of the plate but apparently they used to have a porcelain backing behind the glass so I think that’s what was left of it.

Not sure about the value on the Brown whiskey. But your buddy Dave Bieler dug one at his jug dump a while ago.👍☮️

That might be a film holder...the twin plex...it's the right size for older brownies. But I'm no expert
The object at 14:00 looks like a mirror frame to me.
I believe that plate with the handle is actually an old horsehair brush with an ornate ceramic backing on it. Very fancy
Paul Newman’s drink of choice in the movie The Hustler…..

Yes, there is one on ebay now. If you would like to see what it looked like, in full. It was called a Stropper.
Have you guys already auctioned the poison bottles from this video??
No we haven’t, will be in Saturday nights auction.
Razor blade sharpener , my dad had one
That looks like an early sunglasses lens.
That brass was most likely silver or nickle plated.
Its for passing tea cups
