Moog should do this again.
One of the most humblest musicians ever.....The great Geddy Lee.
You should bake him a cake for being so humble.
Humble? I don’t think so. He seems very proud of himself to me.
He’s the best like fine wine , gets better with time
I could listen the entire day to Geddy, just doodling and messing around on the keyboards. I would actually pay money to listen to that while I drank a Rush beer and ate big Al’s sausage covered in Rush mustard 😂
100%
I totally cracked up at 3:08 . 🤣 This is just beyond cool. Geddy's a total class act, and boy do I wish the Moog Foundation had existed when I was a kid. Such awesome, inspiring work. ❤
We wish we'd been there for you, too, shoontz. We're glad we're there for the kids of today, and we're here for you now! YES to Geddy being a class act -- we're far from the only nonprofit he's supported, and his active, generous support is already making 2023 brighter for us, our projects, and everyone we'll reach, teach and inspire.
@@moogfoundation greatest musician of our era, bass, Moooogs, Taurus Pedals, singing, all at the same time.....no one can touch that. On a separate note, I found a set of your Taurus Pedals here in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania, Africa...sitting under a pile of other instruments in the back. The guy had no idea what they were....bought them for 300 dollars. I only knew them because of Geddy
It’s pronounced “Mg” (mug) now, try it out:

Geddy is a power window 🪟 of knowledge and civility ……
Got me through so much heavy and deep times as 14 year old in 1977 😎🙏💙
Would you prefer if I said Barketta? Yes!
Love you, Geddy!
All "Rock Stars" should take notice. Humble is cool 😎
geddy and alex have donated lots of equipment to local schools in toronto over the years
Based on how much gracious support Geddy provided to us, this is no surprise.
Geddy is a legend. He continues to inspire generation after generation. Great cause.
This chaps always giving his time for others
He is, and the support he and his team gave to us has been truly stellar.
I can believe that.
A great artist to have assist the raffle. Humor and grace under pressure.
Distant Early Warning
Grace under pressure, even as he continues living in the limelight.
Gosh I miss this guy……and those 2 other guys. The Moog & Taurus pedals were a mainstay of RUSH music forever. This is awesome.
Thanks Moog & thanks GED. 🤘❤️
My first concert was Montrose, Foghat and RUSH RKO Orpheum theater Davenport Iowa. 1975 I was 16, talk about a lineup. Sammy and Ronnie Montrose, Lonesome Dave and the best percussionist that's ever lived, Neil.
I'm proud to have bought a ticket. I watch this video nightly and drool over that miniMoog. May the synth gods hear my prayer.
Rush my fav band and Canada 🇨🇦
The Minimoog has such iconic sounds; a huge part of my most favourite music! Many Rush tracks would not be possible without the Minimoog, and other Moog instruments. Such a worthy cause, great that Geddy is supporting this.
It truly is.
Can’t imagine La Villa without the Moog. 🤘🤘
Dang it.. those feels... after he was corrected in the end I thought: "What a legend..." I then remembered what he said in the beginning: "I played in a band called Rush".. and I started to cry like a baby...
Been following this guy & his 2 band mates from their 1st album
Wonderful !! Worth a ticket 🎟️ to support the Moog foundation ☝🏼
Thank you!
Geddy Lee is amazing. Rock n Roll!!! Would love to photograph him one day.
Protect Geddy at all costs! Hes Canadian National Treasure!
Deserves an upgrade to GLOBAL treasure
Cool raffle!
Reminds me of upstairs space at the old Save by Technology store, near Wellesley Stn, in Toronto. I think I saw Geddy's Minimoog there. I miss that place, and chatting with Graham and Frank, I bought lot of gear there. Including when I took the Moog plunge and ordered a Sub 37 after playing the in-store demo model.
Geddy paying it forward. Gotta Love Bossy Pants!
Thank you, Mr. Lee
My reason for singing playing a bass and my interest in pianos Geddy Lee
Hearing Geddy talk about past tense over Rush is very sad :( Love the sound of the moog!
RUSH Geddy Lee growing up in the 70’s, summer camps, boarding schools there was somebody (a class act) rocking the “dorm” or “cabin” with RUSH !!!
The milk of Paradise✌️
I hope you sell all 10,000 tickets! Good luck and congrats on Geddy's involvement.
Thank you! We're still a little bit in disbelief ourselves.
Geddy IS THE MAN!!
Bravo
I feel in absolute awe of this instrument and feel this is such an amazing cause to support. Mad respect to all involved.
Hahahahaha. Lee is so funny. Thanks for a lifetime soundtrack.
Awesome contest and for a great cause ~ Just bought 4 tickets, 🤞
Greatest Band ✌
Geddy’s synth playing, magic.
Ha! Great take at the very end. Yes, I've always have to remind myself "Moog...rhymes with Rogue...Thus the Moog Rogue"... but still so many people in the same sentence will say "Bob Moog" then turn right around and say "inventor of the minimoooog". Ha! Geddy handled himself very well. Class guy.
Holy nostalgia trip! When I was a teen around '82-83, my Dad spotted a classified ad in the Toronto star (where Rush is from, coincidentally). I never knew who he was but a keyboard player had passed away and there was an estate sale. My brother was already pretty talented on the piano so Dad went to T.O. with the truck and came home with a mountain of stuff for us. A 200 watt PA / mixer, a couple of bins, cabinets or whatever they're called now (big ass concert speakers), a Fender Rhodes electric piano, a Hammond concert stage organ with twin Leslies.... and the identical mini Moog being shown-off here. And if Gary / Geddy pronounces it Moog, it's Moog, not Mogue lol.
Geddy is the greatest.
The Mini & the Polymoog, are two amazing instruments. I grew up in the Big 80s and saw those at many rock concerts and venues. Rush remains my favorite band ever. My favorite song: Time stand still.
Time Stand Still is a great song that I never hear on the radio...their songs that do get airplay are excellent but so overplayed. I can think of many Rush songs I'd love to hear on radio. Anthem, Bastille Day, Xanadu, Cygnus 1&2, The Strange Village should be played daily regardless of some of them being lengthy. Back in the day radio would spin Emerson Lake & Palmer Karn Evil 9 1st 2nd and 3rd Impression...a piece that clocks in at over 30 minutes. Long jams were called "smoke & bathroom break songs. But I forget, real radio DJs that spin vinal in a studio no longer exist, it's all pre programed and owned by clear channel now. :(
@@jamesschaidt1096 Karn Evil 9... I listen to it on vinyl... The first song that I heard from Rush was The Trees... I immediately became a fan of Rush... I do have plenty from the 80s... Unusual bands like Camel (The drummer for the song "Your Love is Stranger than Mine" is none other than Phil Collins)... Saga... FM (those two are from Canada, and the drummers for both bands were excellent... And of course, Yes, The Who, Frank Zappa, Kansas, etc... Cheers!
@@Roddy451 I remember Saga..."On the Loose" used to get a lot of airplay on Detroit Rock radio in the 80s, I bought the album and still have it, they were a great band. I've never heard of FM though, I'll look them up. Lotsa great bands/artists and actors/actresses have come outta The Great White North. Keep a rockin' in the free world hombre ! 🎼🍺🤟
@@jamesschaidt1096 FM, "Surface to Air"... Enjoy the drum beats... ua-cam.com/video/eglJ6ktgFVE/v-deo.html
I remember the MemoryMoog & George Duke playing it! All Moog products are sooo high quality. Love the Grand Mother & Matriarch. I would love to try a MiniMoog too.
2 legends
He also did a little bit of singing.
One of the most underrated synth players in history. Signals was a masterpiece in synthesis. I'm surprised he hasn't been interviewed more on this subject.
i'm in. thanks for supporting such a good cause.
I discovered Rush after hearing that riff on Futurama would you believe.
I also own a 1974 Minimoog that sounds unbelievably good.
Alright its Saturday night, I got no date, 2 liter bottle of Shasta and my all Rush mixtapw
Heck yeah!! 🙌🏻
Geddy, making half of us feel better about the way we pronounce "Moog" after 50+ years of owning the instrument, haha. Humans don't really take better form than this.
It really should be pronounced "moo" like a cow says, but Bob changed it to "mogue".
Felicidades al ganador un exelente premió con un gran legado!!! 🇲🇽 MOOG
I had a Moog Taurus II! I played my Bass and the Moog onstage! Geddy is the Oracle
I hope one day you guys are able to get Ralf Hütter to sign one! I also own a Minimoog! (the 3rd one ever made!) it was once owned by the great Karl Bartos!
This guy does NOT AGE!! My God
Awesome...just bough a ticket !!!
That Klispch LasScala .... beast!
The greatest!
Good Cause! I wish I could buy a bunch of tickets!
Love Rush!
😍😃😉👍🏻✨
Humans don't get much better than this...
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
Stone cold dude and modest with it.
Suddenly, I'm in the moog...
GEDDY LEE CAN CALL IT WHATEVER HE WANTS!
Very cool
One does not simply correct Geddy Lee. Well, okay...at least one person does.
GENIUS!!!!!!!
Rush rules!! Geddy is a legend in his own right. I'm my opinion I thought Geddy was a fantastic keyboard player. His work with synths in the late 70s and 80s was unique band very creative. I'd love to hear him do a synth based solo album ( not to say My Favorite Headache wasnt good it was!) But it would be cool to hear his other talent than the bass.
As soon as I receive it I'll post some pics 😁
#weloverush #wemissyouneilpeart Anything that these guys do is just awesome! And THANK YOU! for the correction, we will now start calling it by its proper name. Moh-g ;) Good luck everybody!
As a Rush fan studying and composing music, this would be a dream come true.
You correct him on pronunciation yet I don't think I've ever heard anyone call it a Moge. Geddy Lee may be humble, but his major influence, & reach to millions of musicians around the world, has raised this instrument to even higher plateaus. He can call it whatever he wants lol
We completely agree!
Everyone in my old circle of jamming buddies called it a Moge, probably because there used to be a hockey goalie named Andy Moog, pronunced Moge.
It's just a Canadian thing. We're cool like that.
Classic
Goosebumps..
Geddy is the best.
One of the best bassist in the rock music.
Sold and done!
"I played in a band called Rush for...5000 years." 😆
That's a long time! 😆
I grabbed a couple of tickets. Crossing my fingers. I’ve always wanted a Minimoog. I tried the Behringer copy and it sounded fine, but so do some plug-ins. I think part of the magic of it is the full sized interface and the responsiveness of the real deal. Maybe I’ll get this magical one 🤞
Hardware there is the magic
I've always said Minimoog and I intend to keep it that way.
Ticket bought!!!
Great legendary Group Rush! They were all Scientists…
I want it!
Muito legal!!!!
RUSH!!!!
DEMAISSSSSSSS!!!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I'm in!!!
Wow
Canada’s greatest rocker. I’m wondering what he’s up to now.
he wrote a memoir called 'My Effin' Life.' A great read! He did a book tour over the past year, and at the Toronto stop, Alex was his surprise guest interviewer. The video of that is up on UA-cam: Geddy Lee: Live at Massey Hall. He and Alex also just performed together for only the fourth time since Neil's death in a tribute concert to Gordon Lightfoot. They performed 'The Way I Feel' with the band Blue Rodeo. That video is up here on UA-cam as well.
@ 1:13 Notice how Geddy called it a Mini-mooooog (as in Moo Cow). (The next sentence he adapted and pronounced it with the long o.) Back in the 70's, people called them that. It wasn't until Bob Moog reissued the Voyager when the long o pronunciation became prevalent.
I'd rather have a vintage Geddy Lee, signed by Bob Moog, but the Minimoog is alright, I guess..
I found this on the day the friggin thing ends..... God I would love to have that...
Yes
The pronunciation thing is interesting. In the U.K. it was always ‘Muug’ not ‘Mogue’. We had only ever seen it written down and frankly until the invention of UA-cam I had no idea it was pronounced differently. Perhaps the same in Canada?
We wondered the same thing! Something to look into.
Well, we all thought it was Neil Pearth as in Perth Australia, when it was Neil Peert all along.
@@hugolafhugolaf I always thought it was Pert, like the shampoo :)
@@duallity2403 Ah, that’s a better example, thanks
Ya, eh?

Man I missed the raffle!! Gonna have to survive with my sub 37 and Prophet 5 and 08..
Good luck limping along, Maurice! Our next synth raffle kicks off this summer :)
Rush greatest band ever
I see Geddy Lee, I press the like button.
