Okay so how is it even possible to have a live techno setup without one of these??? Can somebody please explain if it is even possible at all to operate without one of these? Does an elektron analog 4 do everything this does and more? I don't need another synth, just something to enable me to slap songs together in real time without a DAW
Solomon Jenkins what you're searching for is a sequencer. The electribe is a groovebox and has a sequencer integrated that allows you to manipulate your sequences live, not every device can do this. One of the best hardware sequencers out there that can be programmed live is the Yamaha RS7000, at least that's what I read on the internet. But there are tons of sequencers out there that can do more or less complex sequencing you just need to know what you want. If it's got to be simple, have a look at the Arturia Beatstep, the Beatstep Pro, the Korg SQ-1or the Doepfer Dark Time. If you want more complex sequencing it gets pretty fast really expensive. Or you can use devices that have sequencers build in like MPCs, Grooveboxes (but check if your chosen model can be programmed live) or instruments like the Electron devices. Using a laptop and a controller is often the cheapest way to do complex sequencing.
i got an octatrack, i think it does everything i need. All of my devices have their own built in sequencers. My biggest problem with my setup right now is how do I get my korg m3 to transmit midi clock to my roland tb3 so i can use the tb3 sequencer in time with my other gear? I'm using tr8 as master clock
Do you daisy chain your midi from synth to synth? Since that can cause problems you maybe should use a midi thru box that takes the midi out of your master and duplicates it to multiple midi thrus that you can feed directly to the midi in of all of your other synths. this also solves timing problems. Just make sure to get an active midi thru box (one that needs a power supply) because passive ones (without power supply) can also cause problems and some synthesizers just don't like them.
EII Sampler is fun! But it's really its own little beast and workflow. I got the Electribe II Sampler so I could import my own .wav files and not be stuck with default Factory ROM sounds.
Best Song ever played on an electribe. That's something release worthy!!!
Actually, still the best demo of e2s online
About time you rocked a new electribe!
This is excellent! one of my fave electribe jams for sure!
This is so dope, man. My electribe is getting delivered in two days, I am super excited.
TTTHANK you for showing me what this baby can do!!
the things you could do with one "simple" single sample... you make me want to experiment the same! thanks!!
