This is the best E2 tutorial I've seen so far, thanks to your video I finally feel what the machine has in its guts, and it sounds really good. Thanks a lot, I learnt so much!
Once you know where everything is its a really easy machine to get quick ideas down, then take some time and you can realise real quality results. Best of luck
This is super inspiring. Great job! Definitely need to check your jams etc. cause even watching you make this track was enjoyable despite the fact you weren't arranging for listening!
thanks for sharing your process! i have a similar approach, but i feel like you got to a good groove really quickly! faster than me, at least. nice work! i'll check back for more.
is it possible to only affect multiple parts with master EFX? for example if i want plenty of reverb for a kick but only little amount for a hihat for example?
Yes each part has the mfx button (master fx) so you can choose which parts are affected. You can also motion record button presses so for example if you only wanted say a stutter effect coming in on the last bar on the drums then just record the mfx button when you want it to come in for the drum part. Each part also has its own ifx for individual effects but it is worth mentioning for some reason they didn't add a reverb to the ifx you can only have a reverb using the master section fx.
+Elias sss Sorry I read your question early this morning and obviously missed the point. The answer is no, there is no way of choosing the level of master effect for individual parts. You can only choose the level of ifx on each part.
+Elias sss In actual fact you don't have any control of level of any effects, only control of whatever parameter is set to the edit knob in ifx which you can't change or to the xy pad for mfx
+zafrosounds thank you. yea its a shame especially the reverb. oh well, got my self one anyway and ejoing it loads!! only gripe is i seem to be running to some voice stealing issues pretty quickly..
+Elias sss Great, lots to explore then. As for losing voices you have a few options. I have a blank pattern set up with mfx ifx and filters turned off on every channel. All top row set to mono 2 and bottom row to mono 1. This helps with polyphony. If you need a poly channel set accordingly. Also if you start losing an important part of your pattern due to polyphony set that channel priority to high that will solve the problem of it dropping out.
Hi!! (sorry for my english, im Italian) i see at minute 8.06 till 8.10 you rec a synth part, but that part is only 3 seconds long. How did you loop these 3 seconds for all sequencer length? i hope i'm not wrong
I'm using the music station not the sampler. As far as I know you save all your samples as banks then you can create multiple patterns with the bank you have loaded. It takes roughly 2 mins to load in another bank. Check out BGR he's got the sampler version. He edits all his samples in sound forge to get the most out of it.
These demos are the best, no talking, just doing stuff, we all got ears to to listen to the changes our eyes are witnessing on vid. Plus the sound was not "commercial" sounding as with most vids I've seen . I liked the distortion u add at 15:50. That was the climax, and somehow i knew u were gonna get to that. :)) 2-3 questions if u don't mind, pls Are the pads touch sensitive for recording live accents? and, when u mute some parts off…is there a button that "releases" all the muted ones back on all at once? And , also, do you now about the sampler version? has it still got good synth? and crucially, what is the memory capability? ( on the esx the memory space is ridiculous to say the least.!! thanks and have a good weekend man.
+Andygaro1 AG1 Firstly thanks for the positive comment that's exactly what I had in mind, I watch too many vids where I just loose interest because of excessive talking or badly thought out demos, I think the best are Sonic state with Nick, he knows his stuff and his videos are great, better than reading the manual. Right, yes the pads can be set to either velocity sensitive or not on this video it's off, I tend to use the groove function to get a bit of variation with hats/perc etc. With the mutes obviously you can mute each individual part but if you press the PART MUTE button twice, so select it then hit it again it flashes, now when you select a part or parts it will mute all other parts but keep the one or ones you've chosen on. Then if you press SHIFT and PART MUTE it will unmute all parts in that pattern. As for the sampler version you're probably better off asking my partner in crime BeatGrooveRhythm, he's got his hands on one now, I've only tinkered with it a little bit. I think there's still a lack of memory, think you get 256mins? don't quote me on that, but that is with downloading a blank template and overwriting everything already on it, but like I say you're better off asking BGR. I think it has got the same built in synth engine as the E2 they're basically the same machine, it's got all your saw, square, triangle wave synths etc... built into it. I'll know more tomorrow going to get a hands on experience with it. Apparently there is a hack to change the E2 into the ES2 or vica versa by changing the OS but I haven't looked into it. Cheers.
tx for all info man, Damn…not what i wanted to hear ! no f.xxxing memory and to realise all muted buttons ….shift + another button to be pressed …ahiaiaiaiaiii on the esx its quick…just one button does it …making it much quicker to do something else in a flash …like immediately muting the ride . Anyway…it's just the way i use the esx, i'm used to do certain things with it and yeah…i don't like changing..lol cheers , ill check this sonic guy out and yeah, forgot that BGR has one too…tx , ill ask :))
be on an empty pattern, hit write, when it asks where to write to, move to one of the presets, then hit write again. you have to do this for every one. OR you could just "part erase' everything, and rename and just delete them as you need them .
very nice to see someone just making a track that's cool but I just can't stand that annoying recording metronome click sound that is the first thing I would kill the volume of well I hope that's possible because that would really be a reason not to buy the unit
+bananepoep Thanks man, don't worry you can kill it, but it really doesn't bother me, I use it purely for the fact I know exactly when the first and last beat are so you don't get annoying doubling up or start in the wrong place in relation to where you are in the bar. It's handy when you've got a lot of stuff going on.
Yes not the most stable. It got great reviews too. I didn't have much choice at the time I bought it in Saudi when I was working there, only two music shops in the whole of Al khobar so it was the best I could get. To be fair it records extremely well.
+Clayton Brown Not at all I didn't take it badly dude, I was just gracing you with an explanation to how I ended up with it. I'm looking at a focusrite sapphire 18 next I think, just for the extra inputs when I'm at home and not in the studio. Hey man some things get misconstrued in text form but I assure you I didn't take offence.
This is the best E2 tutorial I've seen so far, thanks to your video I finally feel what the machine has in its guts, and it sounds really good. Thanks a lot, I learnt so much!
That's great glad it's helped you out.
Sounds good that Nath. Honestly I could watch these vids for hours. Brilliant stuff mate! Oh and greetings! From Smithies, in't Tarn!
haha cheers mate
This is incredible. I was getting frustrated with my electribe 2 earlier today and this just inspired me to get back at it! Thank you.
That's cool, I'm glad I've spurred you on, best of luck man, cheers 😊
Whoa dude! That up and down drone you started creating before 8 minutes is the beez kneez! I'm a sucker for that kind of sound. Nice work dude!
Chris Ronan cheers man
Thank you! for someone just messing around with the tribe it so nice to see how someone else is creating their sound.
+larsoe Thank you, glad you appreciate it.
Very good vid dude. Nice touch with the screen in the bottom corner, Makes it very informative !
+BeatGrooveRhythm Cheers roots, been thinking about doing it for a while, came out ok.
+Zafro Soundz
I can tell by your work flow you would abso love the sample !
See thi tmora . Rooooots !
Amazing! Thanks for the new ideas, thanks for opening my eyes! Myself and the es2 get one step closer again! :) Keep it up!
Cool to see your creation process! Good work!
+MrFricoco Cheers man.
Nice one man. I just got one, gives me some good pointers. Like you said, better than reading the manual.

+Liberté Music Thanks man
Thank you, very instructive!
+ventoevele Grano (LoopLov3) Hopefully it gives you an idea, inspiration, or instruction. Cheers
Amazing Job !!!is these incredible sound just coming from the electribe 2?
Michele Basta Cheers, yeah man all from the tribe
Do you need something else to create music with this device or it can be used alone? I mean: do i need to connect it to a computer to set sounds ecc ?

Gabriele Buzzin hi there, it's only a 1 bar pattern. 😎
Pretty damn good. Wish you can sample stuff like the Kaossilator :/
Thanks, just buy the Electribe 2 sampler version.
Or do the hack
ducking awesome dudes
Cheers
How easy is it to load samples onto this? I used to have the Korg ES-1 and it was a huge pain.
I'm using the music station not the sampler. As far as I know you save all your samples as banks then you can create multiple patterns with the bank you have loaded. Hi man, I own the e2sampler and im wondering how you loaded those drums....they´re not in the bank, at least the last one!
Marcos Rotllan This is the music station not the sampler dude.
so thats sounds....are them from the original library before summer 2016?
Marcos Rotllan There's been no sound update for the music station only OS and they released a load of new patterns but preset patterns aren't for me.
+zafrosoundz so i dont know how you import the sounds to the non sampler version, excepting you modded. in that case i would understand it
They're just the factory sounds that come in the box :)
Not Bad, its turn me up to make it better. i like crazy techno not monoton sound.
greetings from eastgermany!
Thanks for watching and greetings from Barnsley South Yorkshire, check out some of my other techno :)
Very nice!
+Konstantinos Demis Cheers
Nice one, tx for that:)
+Andygaro1 AG1 Welcome, hope it gives a bit more insight into this little box of tricks.

+Andygaro1 AG1 To be fair the shift button is right next to it almost, one hand 2 fingers, not difficult. :)
Solved, I though they shared same oscillators, dont know why arent the same in both versions. Dont know why, seems so stupid for me.
anybody knows , how to delete korg's samples?
be on an empty pattern, hit write, when it asks where to write to, move to one of the presets, then hit write again. you have to do this for every one. OR you could just "part erase' everything, and rename and just delete them as you need them .
great techno :)
+Remy Dupon Cheers Remy :)

I guess that's another reason not to buy roland audio interfaces.

foreign lands huh. i'm not trying to give you a hard time just making a statement but most of my statements seem to put pressure on people.
+Clayton Brown Not at all I didn't take it badly dude, I was just gracing you with an explanation to how I ended up with it. excellent. focusrite. must be something about it you like.
+Clayton Brown Had a focusrite vocal performer before was a nice piece of kit. One of my friends uses a focusrite, seems like a good choice :-)
Bored me almost to tears.
