The XTR130 is _the_ craft I've been searching for since i started getting into kayak fishing.
The ability to get my kiddo out on the boat with me and my big boy self is priceless. Throw in the possibility to stand on the deck and im sold.

After watching Gene doing a walk-around of the XTR130, it's the 1st boat I'd even consider getting in.
Awesome boat, i can see why some are appealed to it while some aren't. For me, I'll stick to my outdated autopilot 120. For my fishing style, it suits me better as i don't fish heavy flowing rivers. I'll wait to see what old town will have offer in the future. Hopefully a autopilot gen 2. So far Old Town is still #1 in motorized kayak. No one has yet to make a kayak that comes with spot lock motor. Everything most be out sourced and diy while Old Town is just plug and play. The XTR is a beast though. There will be people in the market for it 100%
I have been saving for a pwr129 and all the stuff I would need to rig it out. Definitely gonna go for the 130 now this thing is a BEAST!

Just saw this boat in person at the Bonafide factory. I’m a Native Slayer Max owner wanting to go powerized and have a 6 and 11 year old. I was looking into a Jon Boat but due to limited garage space it has me hesitant. This boat may actually fill that void so now I’m either between the PWR, XTR, or Jon.
Decisions, decisions.
I absolutely love my PWR129, but would grab the XTR130 if I didn't have anything. I had jon boats when younger, but they are zero comfort. I have a Lowe fishing boat, but I spend the vast majority of my time in the kayak. Just much easier to deal with. I'd definitely try to get in all three before you chose.
I swear Hans used battleships as a source of inspiration when designing the profile. Same for the PWR129.

The XTR130 is sweet! That said, as someone who uses a roof rack and a cart to get around, my back tells me it's not a good idea 🤣 Doesn't mean I won't be testing it out as soon as I can at MWO!
Love this thing. But one little question: How the heck to you transport a boat this heavy?
And then, you just let it out about the trailer! Ok then! But $4000 for the trailer?

You can get a Fish Texas Kayak Trailer that carries a single kayak starting at $1800. I pay more for ones that can carry two or three. Keep in mind, I started in a Walmart yak in the back of my truck 10 years ago. I have invested and grown over the last decade of kayak fishing.

heh, I this one can't... I can't imagine what would. I know there are several people who fish offshore in yaks.

I love my Big Rig so much, I just ordered my second one. Ever been in one? For me, fishing the colorado river, the 12-1 drive is perfect. and when I get lazy, the 55 lb Newport will push it 6 mph all day long
@HendersonHookin Yup, owned a Knarr, and have fished out of a Big Rig and Bite FD as well.

I think the NuCanoe Unlimted is the best boat. It's got more versatility then the other boats and I think price point is better. I can get this boat for about $1500 in the off-season. I think they have the best customer service. I mainly fish the river and I can't see myself spending more than $2000 for plastic boat that's going to get beat up.
I don't think their is a "best boat". Every year we get new innovations, pushing the competition farther and farther. We, the anglers, are the real winners.
You are comparing a 154 lb boat to a 84 lb boat. In the sport of kayaking weight is everything. IMO, you would be better off getting a jon boat. You can do the same thing and you are going to get a better price point.
@@BassDudeFishn except you can't fish kayak derbs in a jon boat. And I don't need an 84# kayak because I have a trailer, so weight means nothing to me. I can pull the PWR129 through shallow water in the rivers and deal with the biggest waves on big lakes. I've got a built in rudder if I want to fish creeks or run the Xi3 on the front, and easily change the built in steering controls over to steer the NK300 in two minutes. Most of that are add-ons to the Unlimited.
@@BassDudeFishn and I always giggle when someone makes a "boat" comment on a kayak video. I have a boat, I just prefer to kayak fish most of the time.

Why wasn’t the XTR130 available for the people to test at Icast 2024? That wilderness assassin would have been getting rocks thrown at it if the xtr130 was present and in the mix!
They launched the PWR129 after icast last year as well.
It's hybrid of a Jon boat, bass boat, and fishing kayak. I call it a Gene boat.

What do these run?
Retail will be around $2800 I think, should be out in September but I bet they will be impossible to get for a while. Demand will he very high.
