Aprilia RSV, Tuono, Caponord Clutch plates

  • just a quick chat about how the clutch is stacked together on this 2002 RSVR.
    I was removing to replace the release bearing as preventive maintenance after 30k miles.
    but what I want you to see is how the last friction plate is offset by one segment, don't know why this is done but it's important.

    Are there really 2 metal plates at the beginning? Can you show the notched one?

      no from the clutch plate it goes steel then clutch friction plate in that order .
      But the friction plate the last one (nearest the clutch plate ) is offset by one notch.
      Does that make sense.

      The order is steel then friction plate starting from the clutch plate and the first one nearest the clutch plate is offset by one notch .I think it's nine friction plates and ten steels if my memory is correct .
