I did my PhD in crystal engineering, a fairly new scientific discipline highly focused on the crystalline solid state of materials. I have been a massive Chemical Brothers fan since when I was 13 years old. It is quite obvious that songs such as 'Dissolve' and 'Saturate' were vital during my PhD years. In fact, dissolution and saturation are critical operations/steps that will lead to the formation of crystals. Last year, on this date (25/06/2019) I submitted my PhD thesis after having succesfully defended my research. I think I must say a massive thank you to The Chemical Brothers for being an important source of inspiration since my youth, and for being great studying/working mates: there is nothing better than setting up crystallisation experiments or running X-ray diffraction analyses while playing their songs... Thanks Tom and Ed for your support, especially during those tough moments experienced by any PhD student!
@@jaimejosepaternina thank you very much for your comment! And yes, I totally agree with you: their music is deep, intense, energetic... Their music it's life. I had the big pleasure and honour to see them live twice: Gallipoli (Italy) 2014 and South West 4 (UK) 2016. They are simply unrivalled! 🤟😎
I was just reading n I feel everyone's comment makes sense in their own perception n I was able to understand all of them! Thank u for sharing n commenting,. Big go for UA-cam bringing us together to talk wit each other (AF course filtering it to such an depth for mutual intersts)
I remember listening to this album from start to finish when it came out but seems I missed a few of the videos. This one here really adds the already deeply creative track. I think this album on whole, while hard to claim as being "the best" or "my absolute favorite" (which is so hard to do, especially with TCB), I think it's hard to deny it being one of their more creative releases and one that was unabashedly not afraid to abandon any type of charts chasing or wide commercial success and appeal and simply release an album on their own terms that was done whole heartedly in the spirit of high art. All this said, the title "Further" was a perfectly fitting title. Rave on kids. Rave on 🎧💊🍭🍒🌚🌈💖

after seeing this used masterfully for a top gear episode years ago, it has since become my all time favorite chemical brothers track / song of all time. yyyyahoooo!
While I knew and loved the song prior to seeing that episode, that really was masterfully placed within that segment. Absolutely encapsulates the elation in the moment.
F1 to CBs: " Could you make us a song and video so we can be seen as cool with the kids"? CBs: "Sure, we have a song about dogs in space but we can just chuck in a random segment of a dog in an F1 car, how does that sound"? F1:"Great, love it, how about we pay you say $1m"?
