this is unironically one of the best plotlines i've ever seen??? the symbolism and overall narrative are so well done, the analogy of the parrots being tied down is chilling, and smile's backstory is just heartbreaking. andrew genuinely feels like a real person going through this, as opposed to someone reading a script. the messages from chris had me bawling like a baby.

Crying. I came into this expecting cheap horror and the classic jumpscare gimmicks but I left with……a hauntingly depressing show of friendship. The wells serving as a silent cry. How Chris wanted Andrew to go on and live his life and forget all of this…..it’s all so horrible. Do we ever really forget the friends we make throughout life? Don’t they just implant themselves into your heart forever?

@@Vionnea it's because they havent experienced pain yet, but it comes as sure as the inevitable end, and then they understand, friends, family, even eventually, if you live long enough, parents too. i lost my dad when i was six, i didn't understand death, now i'm approaching 40, and i know that at some point, my mother will dissapear too just like he did, and i dread that day, but tragedy is as much a part of life as joy, and at first, usually, you don't see that, especailly as a kid, but for some that timeline goes out a little further than it did for me, those people ignorant of death, and suffering, don't understand when they hurt others, for them it's just tuesday, none of the pain is real to them, they lack the context, those they hurt, like they hurt the smile character, if they lack the wisdom of the ancients, decide to take it upon themselves to teach them, and the result is always tragedy. it's a tale as old as time, someone ignorant of grief, imposes it onto a victim, who upon recognizing their ignorance of grief, decides to show them, to make them feel their pain so they will not, or cannot hurt anyone anymore, either by learning from the experience, or succumbing to it. The victim turned villain misses that eventually these blind children will learn on thier own, they don't need any help learning the lesson from those they harm, it only harms the victim even further, while on the other hand the folly of the bully will catch up to them inevitably, and when it does, it will be no less a lesson than you might have thought to teach, in fact, it is often more effective. So in short it is best to let G-d handle the evil in ignorant hearts. and i say this as a victim of consistant bullying in school, i never took revenge but did feel the call of the well, but it did not take me, i perservered, struggled alot, but the reward for overcoming those struggles was great, brought me closer to elightenment. I bumped into one of my highshool bullies later in life, his freind did a number on me on his behalf years prior, now he had experienced grief as i had, and was on his own in the world, he profusely apologized to me that day, it didn't fix what had been broken, but to forgive and forget rid me of my last enemy, G-d had handled it, and i walked away that day, finally knowing victory over my persecutors without having to lift a finger, he yet stood, but the hatred in his heart had been utterly conquered, and it was his hatred that had given me so much greif, i imagine the same held true of the other bullies in my life, but i have never seen them since i left that place, and they are but a faded memory to me now. My greatest revenge was to let them live with themselves, and build my own life, to succeed in spite of those who hated me, the greatest triumph, and every time i help someone less fortunate it is as good, better even than to spit in thier eyes. eventually we all meet the same end, but what defines us is how we are able to uplift others in need, be it food, emotional support, even a simple hug, all forms of good are even more damaging than a sword to those who wrong us, it tips G-d's scales in you favor, and so, away from your enemies, upon whom the wrath of G-d is sure to come in it's due time.

I feel so bad for Andrew and Chris. Poor friends just wanted to play with eachother and have fun in Minecraft. But overall, Smile's story is the most tragic. Not only did his completly hard work get burned to a crisp by those fucking bullies, They also insulted him by saying "No wonder ur Mom left You!" that's so sad man. The fact that people actually do this stuff in REAL LIFE is insanity.

Another sad thing I picked up is that There's a good chance Smile was way, way younger than Chris and Andrew. The way he talks and builds and all of that seems like the actions of a small child. And maybe he still is. What if that explains a lot of his mischievous and childish behavior as Smile?
Some people relate with Andrew, The feeling of losing in touch with your best friend whom you've spent time with, and made many memories. Wanting to be with them again and missing the simpler times Some relate to Chris, The feeling of doing an irreversable action that you regret. Wanting to prevent others from making the same mistake But i relate the most with Smile.
Literally the most saddest story/ Minecraft story I've ever watched in my whole life, like Andrew is doing all his best to just find his way just to find Chris without knowing that his friend already passed away and is only communicating through making cryptic messages and help his living friend survive and not letting him end up with the same mistake. I understand the feeling of losing a friend who passed away, especially when that person already died a long time ago and plus, the part where he said "Thank you for being my friend" HIT DIFFERENT I gotta tell you I ALMOST CRIED.
This is no joke probably one of the coolest ARG's I've seen. The expression and the story deliver such a heavy situation in a block game but yet it carries the same amount of meaning as a real movie would. Props to the creator of this and I do feel like this does actually teach something about life; acceptance. I could ramble on for ages about how good this ARG is!
honestly at 1:17:20 then when it plays how he sounded near the beginning he sounds so different, the attitude, the tone, the voice quality, it sounds like you're comparing someone's voice and looks from the beginning of a 5 season show to the end result. Amazing.

I noticed something lets say "strange" at 54:00. When Andrew was collecting the journals there were no mobs (as wifies said), but when Andrew had a breakdown there were some mobs spawning but only passive mobs. A cow that hid behind a wall and a pig that hid behind a tree

The way I read it (if intentional, which it probably was) was as being representative of Andrew having a moment of realisation about his life - animals being representative of life as a concept and having a closer connection to emotionality than the unfeeling plants and buildings around him

This is the most spine-chilling Minecraft video I've ever seen. Right at 46:48 is when I was at the verge of tears. It was 12AM when I watched this, I listen to C418 very often and see the "Chris" song, and think it's nothing, just a song named Chris. Right whenever I watched the part of the video of him talking about the songs name I finally figured out why the song might've been named Chris. This video was just overall horrifying to watch.

this is the most a minecraft arg series has affected me. the horror element was done really well (i always enjoy a more slow, "stalkerish" horror and despite it being in minecraft it managed to be really creepy with the old textures, liminal spaces, and low resolution) but the actual story underneath it all was really tragic and haunting and beautiful. i have also struggled with suicidal tendencies AND have had friends that have considered it, and it truly is so important to be reminded that there are people around you that love and care about you and will miss you when you're gone. phenomenal work by andrew and thank you to wifies for covering it ❤
This honestly is one of, if not, the best Minecraft ARG/analog horror compilation I’ve seen. The live dialogue makes it so much more immersive and real, the acting was absolutely Leagues above the rest, a brilliant experience that’s both scary and saddening in its execution.

No words describe what I feel through out the video. I love how the story goes to a normal video of Minecraft then it started to go both haunting and sad. This is the definition of Horror that I like, no jumpscares, no blood, just the feeling of chills, the lore, how the plot goes and so on. Despite the game is just all blocks it can be creepy in a way, maybe because of the low quality? No, its how the narrator, the actors, and how they make the story is what makes it creepy. All in all this is by far the best video I have seen so far.

I feel the saddest part about stories involving suicide as a major plot point is that they mainly stem from suicide being a major point or idea in the life of the author. I hope that the creator or AndrewGaming didn't have to experience such a tragic event for this series.

1:23 That humming is actually something that I experienced just yesterday. I placed my half-broken headphones on the table (the mic still works fine, just the speakers in it are crappy) so I had to turn up the volume in OBS to be heard on the recordings. Well, the recording sounded tinny with that exact low-frequency hum XD
That is a feedback loop, it happens if you get the mic close to the sound source it is connected to, it then picks up the noise in the speaker and plays it there.
@@nemesissombria The only sound played is in the headphones. And I checked it, the mic doesn't pick that up at all. So it's probably the power supply's _very_ slight voltage variations getting picked up by the recording circuit and then getting amplified by 20db in software. I suspect that to be the case because it's exactly the 60Hz humming you hear in those large switch boxes outside.
As someone who is dealing with depression and has attempted, this video struck me hard. Not only as a masterpiece, but because of its deep psychological messages. This arg makes me so grateful for the friends i have who helped me through these tough times, and also reminds me of the people who derive pleasure purely from making others miserable. Sadists. This has to be the best and saddest story you've done yet. It started out with Andrew visiting a old Minecraft world he played with one of his friends to deadly wells. It's so deep and interesting! Something quick and random is that around 56:17 (give or take) there is a cow we saw moments prior that in my opinion is definitely acting strange, almost like he's watching Andrew, and i wanted dto call this out bc you mentioned that no mobs, peaceful and hostile spawn in that world, there was also a pig but the way the cow was acting it just seemed, odd

I can't hold my tears any longer around 1:17:20, I lost someone very dear to me I made back in 2019, and sadly died to bone cancer. There's many times where I wished I could talk to him again, even if it's in the videogames I will make or videogames I played, I wished so many times to be able to talk to him somehow, maybe through minecraft, so hearing Andrew cry just made me realize how much I miss him. I miss you Joseph, I wish you were still here.

This is more of showing the slow descent into madness and mental illness of depression and anxiety, the fear of missing someone and trying to reach out to that said person. The fear of missing out on the old times also comes into place in this video, the need for nostalgia. The slow decline of someone’s mental capacity could be in this one video.

Smile's backstory is possibly the most tragic of everything here. Idk how I'd react in that situation, but after the sadness rolled over, it'd probably be hate, and that hate would almost certainly turn into violence. Which explains why Chris refers to Smiles as "not kind"
I completely understand that, after all I been through personally I’m just angry, I’m angry at existing, I’m angry at people that I trust hurting me, I’m angry at waking up, I’m angry that humans exist in the first place. I used to believe that there was no one like me in this world who cared and loved people because all I’ve known was being betrayed, I didn’t think I was human because I was so different from everyone around me. It’s hard when you have nobody and even when you do they just betray you. Luckily I found a friend who i can trust but it’s still hard to let go of the past. I’m still angry to this day at everything even the littlest things. I can’t let go of the past and I just don’t know why. Smile’s story really hit home and sadly i attempted more than 10 times, i could’ve ended up like smile. i hope they all get a happy ending that was a good rpg.
I LOVE THIS SERIES. I was not expecting to see some of the locations (the tutorial world from the xbox 360 days and the christmas mashup world) every other spooky minecraft arg doesnt play with nostalgia like this one does.

I’m thinking the same thing. The reason this ARG is so good is because it’s a topic that is extremely relatable to most of us. I’m in my early twenties and I’m afraid of growing up. I’m afraid of losing the people I love. There were several times that I was on the verge of tears just because I know what the characters in this story are going through. This one is just too real and hits too hard for it to simply be just another fictional story.

In that case, you can play/watch a let's play of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It covers a similar story to this one in a much more fleshed out way, as the game is usually 70 hours long. Additionally, it's the only work of fiction (games, movies, shows)in my 20 years to make me full on cry TWICE, and nothing makes me cry. Mid way through the game and the end credits made me quietly sob. Truly a 10/10 masterpiece in fiction and my favorite game I've ever played in my life.

im at 23:32 the theory that chris died in a well had chills running down my back but what if chris really had that fate, the dark damp tomb is the well he died in, the bones that were constantly being found by andrew were from chris' body, a more ridiculous theory is that when andrew was teleported into another dimension by swimming to the bottom its not another dimension, hes hallucinating because of the water and since andrew had potions of breathing underwater he couldnt drown while hallucinating but when chris did this same exact thing hallucinating in a well.. he had no potions.

This ARG is great for multiple reasons, one that stands out is the depictions of depression in the characters and what causes people to have these feelings. It sends a message to not treat others in such ways
Andrew's dialogue in this video series is genuinely the most realistic behavior I've ever seen from a creepypasta/horror ARG protagonist. Never before have I ever seen someone react the way most people would when faced with something startling randomly happening in their Minecraft world: to forcefully repeat "NOPE" over and over again while walking away. And the way he reacted to Smile's direct talk to him was also exactly the kind of logic I would think out loud in that type of situation.
At 47:00 , you said that a song called chris was playing. I played it and I actually cried. The story is so good and long, I could watch it many times.
When the vid was like 45 mins running, i kept wondering about Smiler. We only saw him once and everything else wzs about black ghost chris. When the first sign saying "Leave" with description: Leave, or stay for eternity. It clicked perfectly. Chris tries to secure andrew to not become like him. Evil Smiler does want him to continue to be in his grasp. Btw, the moment i knew there were 2 shadow people in the game, i knew chris was the cryptic figure who just wanted to protect and warn andrew from Smiler, the real vilain. Side note, Smilers backstory is truly heartbreaking

I gotta say, I LOVE these Minecraft ARG channels that put a huge amount of work into hiding secret messages of different cypher types hoping someone would actually take the time to figure it out. There’s just something really amazing about these tiny channels putting so much detail and lore, usually within only a handful of videos, where most of it is actually locked behind the viewers ability to find the hidden pieces outside the gameplay being shown. Almost all of them with a really low sub count as well, so it was truly a passion project. I just love seeing these. So many people only focus on adding a horror mod and trying to play it off like it’s really happening in vanilla, these are so much more intricate ❤ They remind me of the first time I ever played Minecraft on the Xbox 360 in 2014. I still remember EXACTLY what it looked like and what I did that first session. I actually bought the “candy” texture pack first and loaded in for the first time ever. I remember being so happy running around checking out all the candy themed blocks, mining and building a tiny house, only to have a creeper wander up and explode half the house and kill me the very first night before I slept, not being able to find the remains of the house when sent back to spawn. These videos fill me with nostalgia, they unlock details about my history with the game I hadn’t thought about in many many years. Me and the friends I made on the first server I ever joined still play together today to this day, one of them I’ve known longer than literally anyone else in my life that’s not family. This game has been really important throughout my life and it’s really nice to remember it all piece by piece ❤

this is unironically one of the best plotlines i've ever seen??? the symbolism and overall narrative are so well done, the analogy of the parrots being tied down is chilling, and smile's backstory is just heartbreaking. andrew genuinely feels like a real person going through this, as opposed to someone reading a script. the messages from chris had me bawling like a baby.

Crying. I came into this expecting cheap horror and the classic jumpscare gimmicks but I left with……a hauntingly depressing show of friendship. The wells serving as a silent cry. How Chris wanted Andrew to go on and live his life and forget all of this…..it’s all so horrible. Do we ever really forget the friends we make throughout life? I noticed something lets say "strange" at 54:00.
When Andrew was collecting the journals there were no mobs (as wifies said), but when Andrew had a breakdown there were some mobs spawning but only passive mobs. A cow that hid behind a wall and a pig that hid behind a tree

The way I read it (if intentional, which it probably was) was as being representative of Andrew having a moment of realisation about his life - animals being representative of life as a concept and having a closer connection to emotionality than the unfeeling plants and buildings around him

this is the most a minecraft arg series has affected me. the horror element was done really well (i always enjoy a more slow, "stalkerish" horror and despite it being in minecraft it managed to be really creepy with the old textures, liminal spaces, and low resolution) but the actual story underneath it all was really tragic and haunting and beautiful. i have also struggled with suicidal tendencies AND have had friends that have considered it, and it truly is so important to be reminded that there are people around you that love and care about you and will miss you when you're gone. phenomenal work by andrew and thank you to wifies for covering it ❤
This honestly is one of, if not, the best Minecraft ARG/analog horror compilation I’ve seen. The live dialogue makes it so much more immersive and real, the acting was absolutely Leagues above the rest, a brilliant experience that’s both scary and saddening in its execution.

No words describe what I feel through out the video. I love how the story goes to a normal video of Minecraft then it started to go both haunting and sad. This is the definition of Horror that I like, no jumpscares, no blood, just the feeling of chills, the lore, how the plot goes and so on. Despite the game is just all blocks it can be creepy in a way, maybe because of the low quality? No, its how the narrator, the actors, and how they make the story is what makes it creepy.
All in all this is by far the best video I have seen so far.

1:23 That humming is actually something that I experienced just yesterday. I placed my half-broken headphones on the table (the mic still works fine, just the speakers in it are crappy) so I had to turn up the volume in OBS to be heard on the recordings. Well, the recording sounded tinny with that exact low-frequency hum XD
That is a feedback loop, it happens if you get the mic close to the sound source it is connected to, it then picks up the noise in the speaker and plays it there.

The only sound played is in the headphones. And I checked it, the mic doesn't pick that up at all.
So it's probably the power supply's _very_ slight voltage variations getting picked up by the recording circuit and then getting amplified by 20db in software. I suspect that to be the case because it's exactly the 60Hz humming you hear in those large switch boxes outside.

I can't hold my tears any longer around 1:17:20, I lost someone very dear to me I made back in 2019, and sadly died to bone cancer. There's many times where I wished I could talk to him again, even if it's in the videogames I will make or videogames I played, I wished so many times to be able to talk to him somehow, maybe through minecraft, so hearing Andrew cry just made me realize how much I miss him. this whole arg made me cry, no joke. the ending, the breakdowns, the grim, sad, lets play from smile. everything is just.. written in a way args dont. at first it seemed a bit cheesy but.. watching the whole video it was tragic. whoever is behind all this, may god bless you.

Smile's backstory is possibly the most tragic of everything here. Idk how I'd react in that situation, but after the sadness rolled over, it'd probably be hate, and that hate would almost certainly turn into violence. Which explains why Chris refers to Smiles as "not kind"
I completely understand that, after all I been through personally I’m just angry, I’m angry at existing, I’m angry at people that I trust hurting me, I’m angry at waking up, I’m angry that humans exist in the first place. I used to believe that there was no one like me in this world who cared and loved people because all I’ve known was being betrayed, I didn’t think I was human because I was so different from everyone around me. It’s hard when you have nobody and even when you do they just betray you. Luckily I found a friend who i can trust but it’s still hard to let go of the past. I’m still angry to this day at everything even the littlest things. I can’t let go of the past and I just don’t know why. Smile’s story really hit home and sadly i attempted more than 10 times, i could’ve ended up like smile. i hope they all get a happy ending that was a good rpg.
I LOVE THIS SERIES. I was not expecting to see some of the locations (the tutorial world from the xbox 360 days and the christmas mashup world) every other spooky minecraft arg doesnt play with nostalgia like this one does.

Honestly this was extremely beautiful and honestly it made me cry. I’ve myself been dealing with these kinds of thoughts being scared of growing up being scared that there is no future so I would just like to thank Andrew for making this although unfinished it seems I truly appreciate these topics being brought up.
I’m thinking the same thing. The reason this ARG is so good is because it’s a topic that is extremely relatable to most of us. I’m in my early twenties and I’m afraid of growing up. I’m afraid of losing the people I love. There were several times that I was on the verge of tears just because I know what the characters in this story are going through. This one is just too real and hits too hard for it to simply be just another fictional story.

In that case, you can play/watch a let's play of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It covers a similar story to this one in a much more fleshed out way, as the game is usually 70 hours long.
Additionally, it's the only work of fiction (games, movies, shows)in my 20 years to make me full on cry TWICE, and nothing makes me cry. Mid way through the game and the end credits made me quietly sob.
Truly a 10/10 masterpiece in fiction and my favorite game I've ever played in my life.

the theory that chris died in a well had chills running down my back but what if chris really had that fate, the dark damp tomb is the well he died in, the bones that were constantly being found by andrew were from chris' body, a more ridiculous theory is that when andrew was teleported into another dimension by swimming to the bottom its not another dimension, hes hallucinating because of the water and since andrew had potions of breathing underwater he couldnt drown while hallucinating but when chris did this same exact thing hallucinating in a well..

This ARG is great for multiple reasons, one that stands out is the depictions of depression in the characters and what causes people to have these feelings. It sends a message to not treat others in such ways

Andrew's dialogue in this video series is genuinely the most realistic behavior I've ever seen from a creepypasta/horror ARG protagonist.
Never before have I ever seen someone react the way most people would when faced with something startling randomly happening in their Minecraft world: to forcefully repeat "NOPE" over and over again while walking away. And the way he reacted to Smile's direct talk to him was also exactly the kind of logic I would think out loud in that type of situation.

At 47:00 , you said that a song called chris was playing. I played it and I actually cried. The story is so good and long, I could watch it many times.
When the vid was like 45 mins running, i kept wondering about Smiler. We only saw him once and everything else wzs about black ghost chris. When the first sign saying "Leave" with description: Leave, or stay for eternity. It clicked perfectly. Chris tries to secure andrew to not become like him. Evil Smiler does want him to continue to be in his grasp. Btw, the moment i knew there were 2 shadow people in the game, i knew chris was the cryptic figure who just wanted to protect and warn andrew from Smiler, the real vilain.
Side note, Smilers backstory is truly heartbreaking

I gotta say, I LOVE these Minecraft ARG channels that put a huge amount of work into hiding secret messages of different cypher types hoping someone would actually take the time to figure it out. There’s just something really amazing about these tiny channels putting so much detail and lore, usually within only a handful of videos, where most of it is actually locked behind the viewers ability to find the hidden pieces outside the gameplay being shown. Almost all of them with a really low sub count as well, so it was truly a passion project.
I just love seeing these. So many people only focus on adding a horror mod and trying to play it off like it’s really happening in vanilla, these are so much more intricate ❤
They remind me of the first time I ever played Minecraft on the Xbox 360 in 2014. I still remember EXACTLY what it looked like and what I did that first session. I actually bought the “candy” texture pack first and loaded in for the first time ever. I remember being so happy running around checking out all the candy themed blocks, mining and building a tiny house, only to have a creeper wander up and explode half the house and kill me the very first night before I slept, not being able to find the remains of the house when sent back to spawn.
These videos fill me with nostalgia, they unlock details about my history with the game I hadn’t thought about in many many years. Me and the friends I made on the first server I ever joined still play together today to this day, one of them I’ve known longer than literally anyone else in my life that’s not family. This game has been really important throughout my life and it’s really nice to remember it all piece by piece ❤
