  • Oh the places you'll go! Oh the things you will see! To be honest, the inside of a jaguar pen at the Woodland Park Zoo never crossed my mind. Yet here we are removing a hazardous cottonwood from that exact location.
Woodland Park Zoo has teams of horticulturists and vets and zookeepers and countless other staff. What they don't have is the expertise and equipment to remove a tree that is destroying the sidewalk and habitat it is growing within.
Watch as Peter, Keaton, Moi, Arne and Banks safely remove this menace without disturbing the tenants of the Woodland Park Zoo.

Peter, I ALWAYS enjoy your videos! Thank you for the time and effort your crew takes to do the work and your fantastic editing and research teams.
Please let them know that their efforts are well met. That just makes me know that you are a phenomenal persona and it's not just a "put on" for the camera.
I do not comment on every video, but that does not mean that I do not wish to.
    Cheers!

Nice job on the tree removal! The critter you wanted to know about is a Red Panda. Native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China.

Looked to me to be a lynx. The animal, not the equipment.

To be completely honest, it was a stock video clip that was titled bobcat so I ran with it. It very well could have been a lynx but y'all got the point.

The funniest part of that is the proportions...Either that is a really large cat or a really small piece of equipment.

What's the advantage of the grapple truck over a chipper?

    • @petergruenwoldt5394
      @petergruenwoldt5394 Місяць тому +3

Great question, in this case it allowed us to not use a loud wood chipper. Better for the nearby animals etc.
We still used chainsaws etc but overall our “sound footprint” was smaller

You dont want to make the nearby gorilla's mad...they are already bad tempered as it is.

It is a Grove GMK 3050. We have an entire playlist on our channel devoted to that crane. Take a look and thanks for watching!

I’m not an arborist, but I assume you guys v cut for safety reasons
    Very interesting
Oh, and that’s a red panda

Absolutely correct, it’s a cut used so we don’t shock load the crane.
