    Lakini Lubanga, on the money issue, my allegiance is to whom? Friends or wife? Part of having a working marriage is in answering this question. Striking a balance is good for one. Great conversations though Jagero.

      It's a tricky one, but I definitely lean towards a united front. There will be times for individual support, but open communication is key.

    Lol I've been married for almost 10years and from the word go, my wife and I shared banks accounts, and I'm glad I proposed that because all of the things we have achieved for ourselves and kids, that has brought alot of discipline, I don't glorify money but understand the need for it and my wife is the same. So boys will be boys but boys must grow up to be man. 🇿🇦

    We would have happier and long lasting marriages if people invested in pre- marital counseling. Most people get marriage for wrong reasons as your rightly mentioned

      Can you train or counsel a cat to be a dog? If you are a dog person, get a dog. It is easier when we get people that match us. That as a baseline is a good foundation. Counselling helps here and there but we keep the core of who we are.

      Pre-marital counseling is definitely a game-changer!

    • @Mvtvri

      @@TheJagero That helps but bottomline, we are who we are. After a month, we fall back to our default status and marriage runs as we are wired, not as counselled. But I agree it helps.

      @florenceojawa7706 - our view or understanding and objectives of premarital counselling also needs to change for better such that we are also aware that we can break up after/during premarital. Sadly most go for premarital counselling when they have already gone too far in the relationship making it hard to break it off even when incompatible....carrying the incompatibility as a baggage into marriage

    The guest makes a lot of sense. His only problem is that he's pointing out too many truths. Naturally the truth hurts and rubs people the wrong. The truth is a good number of married people have not been very good ambassadors of the marriage institution, and so those outside it get an ugly picture of that institution. An advertisement paints what a product entails. If you the consumer paints a negative picture of the product through and through then don't blame the hesitant but potential consumer out there.

      Thanks for your interesting take on the guest's message.
      It's true, seeing negative portrayals of marriage can definitely make it seem less appealing to those on the outside looking in. Marriage is a complex institution, and like any product, it can have both positive and negative experiences. It's important to showcase a realistic picture of marriage, with its challenges and rewards.
      Here on DWJ, we strive to create a space for open and honest conversations about marriage. We feature guests with a variety of perspectives, hoping to offer a well-rounded view of what marriage can entail.
      What are your thoughts on how we can better portray marriage in media and society? We'd love to hear your ideas.

    What's marriage to the guest ? I have seen so many Kenyan men in Rwanda cohabiting and call it marriage.I see a lot of them in the guest.

    Why discuss marriage with a person who does not understand the institution?
    This felt to me like a truckload of negativity from the guest and a furtherance to the deterioration of the little remaining moral fabric. Ati mpaka unajifanya married 🙄🙄🙄 where do you get so much time? When do you make money? And you still think the problem is only women? Such habits are leaving many people behind with a bad taste in the mouth about relationships. Love genuinely. You’ll get the love back

      The guest is not mature enough to underdtand the institution of marriage. Hr doesnt seem to understand transparence in a marriage, he cant offer how financial management in a marriage can be managed together and still avail financial indepence in a marriage.

      @naomipeele494,
      I am starting to suspect that a great percentage of people badmouthing marriage are single, clueless people and that there’s actually a whole lot of happy marriages.
