They really need to buff sub. These people advocating for nerfs already really don’t know what they are talking about to give a proper review it should settle for at least 2 weeks maybe even a few months.

Now given that there will always be some character who can’t help that unfortunately, but thats why it needs to be lab with the entire roster to see what characters can go up against cyrax right now just an example because we really don’t know yet and we are speaking about this still in less than a week. Hence why I said at least 2 weeks so we should still see how certain matches play out and other pro players go up against cyrax. Instead of going to the nerfing conclusion.
I will never stop playing Sub-Zero, even if he's relatively trash. But it's only the squeaky hinges that get the oil that they need; the silent ones get nothing.
The absence of ANY changes buffs or nerfs means that NRS right now is ok with how sub zero is right now. There is no direction they have for sub zero even if there are very experienced players addressing sub problems and ways they can fix it. As for now sub zero has very low damage, gaps that can be armored in 3 out of 4 of his main strings, no zoning no, good offense, no good defense, no good mix and no good trapping. Right now if you're not a sub zero fan there is not a single reason to play him, he has nothing interesting to offer. And the worst is the inconstancy of NRS with how they balance things shown in the video the ice ball is slow because it's not ok to have a projectile for full screen and to have a combo potential, meanwhile cyrax net and she has teleport, scorpion also has full screen combo starter so 2 characters that get full combo if they hit projectile and sub if ice ball hits unless use some kameo gets slide. The buffed scorpion significantly, they gave him new tools to work with and fera kameo helps him a lot. They can make characters better, they just refuse to do it to sub zero.
Well, I'll say this - the same thing appeared to be true for Havik until Khaos Reigns dropped. That character was languishing in low-tier hell until now; if NRS can fix him, along with Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Nitara, Rain, Reptile and Li Mei, then they can certainly do it for Sub-Zero also. I just need to keep making videos like these for people to share with NRS to hopefully provide the impetus for them to make those changes.

I just watched Bradys video on how to buff sub,acording to him they wont buff hom cuzthey don't know what to do with deadly vapors if trh ice ball can be used in combos.I think it can be just used as a zoning tool that knockdown opponents.
Here’s how to gauge if you’re in the right mindset. I just got slaughtered by smoke however I have no excuse he/she outsmarted and guessed right on things I thought would get him due to randomness. His combo game should work something like this. Any hit into the iceball should be for setups like your lin kuei dive Any combo with deadly vapor should be for damage

Sub was a beta character for launch.( Nothing more) They only used his artwork and character to promote the launch of the game. If he didn’t get a buff by know he is not going to get one. Theyre gonna have to unscale deadly vapor and iceball but keep the clone scaling as is. Not to mention my biggest gripe is that ice ball into a combo that has ice clone will immediately end it. Unlike older mks.
So one thing I thought about that actually makes sense and totally explains why NRS does not fix Sub zero shortcomings and quite frankly I understand is this. NRS just like any company is driven by the stakeholders bottom line in terms of profit. So think about it if your were a stakeholder Ie you have invested in the company and need financial returns would you put your best developers and resources on trying to fix sub so that 1% of people dedicated to sub are happy ? OR put your developers on the next shiny thing to attract 10,000 (example figure) new people to buy the game or buy the latest Kombat pack to use those new characters with all the bells and whistles? If I was on the board of directors I would say fuck sub, create a few new characters that are amazing with all these awesome moves to make more money and I totally agree even tho it sucks for us. That is the real reason. In simple terms for us poor people can understand is do you want to make $20 bucks by fixing sub? Or make $800 on new shiny characters? Shit I’ll take the $800 and so would you. And one thing is I know is that there are very talented engineers at NRS but there focused on priorities and sub is not a priority. So we can complain all we want the profit is what drives the devs efforts.
I honestly want either the MK9 or MKX ice ball back, and add one or two more combo starters with a jump in. Those alone would give Sub-Zero enough to compete against the rest. As I said before, only being to have Back 2 and EX deadly vapors to start combos gets old. He can get some conversions with F123 with some kameos, but he needs some solo help. I've been playing Noob Saibot since the update, I'll need to check out Cyrax and Sektor more. Also, I'm happy they've got their Klassic helmets back. Also, 10:55 thank you, so many people want this, including me. Edit: is it just me, or does Cryax and Sektor kinda have low damage? Especially Cyrax, I see lots of high effort combos leading to 35 ish percent damage, whereas others kind do a regular BnBs and get that. I could honestly use someone else's input on that.

In my opinion, Sub Zero is pretty solid if you look at his kit overall. However, he is in need of a buff and I think it’s really simple what he needs, which is a way better Ice Ball because currently it’s useless. At the very least EX Ice Ball should be fast enough to combo into so that he doesn’t require the aid of kameos. The other buff I would do is make it so he can freeze the opponent twice; one with ice ball and one with ice clone.
Dude i recently ran a ranked set with Sub against Sonicfox while he was using Cyrax, Cyrax is so fucked up, infinite bomb setups covered by Sektor and a full screen quick freeze, uphill battle with our blue boy 😭
I've seen that Sonicfox video, you could've won the set but they adapted to your gameplan. Sub/Tremor is his best team but I didn't see you use the meterless launch for good damage, and relied heavily on the f123 ambush setup that's not real.

Sub zero doesn’t need a buff, he already has an overhead low mixup (mixup is worse when you add chameleon) he gets 35% meterless no kameo needed, 2 FREE combo extensions without bar or kameo. Best zoning besides maybe cyrax now. Yall whining for nothing

He does get 35% meterless - from a 24-frame overhead that easily gets blocked on reaction and is death on block. One of his free combo extensions is a 39-frame projectile that barely hits anyone and the other, though much more effective, gets him killed against most of the cast, including many characters that get full combos meterlessly on reaction to Sub using the move. And neither Cyrax nor Sub-Zero are zoners, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are you sure that you play MK1????
@@mrAPchem brother, his free combo extensions are his clone (which is his bread and butter combo), and his air kick (which is safe on block, if you unblock can be punished) his OH/low is lethal with chameleon. You can get 35% meterless with a kameo into his OH. Sub might not be a zoner but he has a free clone every 3 seconds which comes back immediately if done into a combo, he has a free clone he can send out that destroys projectiles FOR FREE, and his meter burn ice all destroys, is slightly faster and leads to combos. I play mk, maybe it’s a skill issue for you?
@@traviszombeck7379 Yes, try using Klone against a good Quan Chi. Or a Scorpion that knows that he can B3 on reaction. Or even against a character whose armor leads to a full combo. Sub's Klone is good, but if it isn't safely setup with one of 2 Klone setups, he runs the risk of getting killed for doing it. The average KL player won't do it, but there are plenty of players that will. Also, the Divekick, though a good move, is easily jabbed and/or Upblocked for a full combo at any height. The strategies you are talking about work great on scrubs like the people that ElConejo fights. But against decent-to-good players, these tactics become null and void.
I agree,she shows what Sub and honestly every single character should have. A viable gameplan that the kameo only enhances, not enables

Just wondering if this update did any improvements to the game on Steam Deck especially since they added in FSR 3. Does the game perform better?
That Beta Sub Zero was maybe too much for players. Hopefully we'd strike a middle ground.

Baraka is in a great space from a competitive standpoint, but I can certainly see why he could use a refresh.
Sub zero doesn’t need a buff, he already has an overhead low mixup (mixup is worse when you add chameleon) he gets 35% meterless no kameo needed, 2 FREE combo extensions without bar or kameo. Best zoning besides maybe cyrax now. Yall whining for nothing
Don't bother, sub mains like this fool would rather complain about a solid character like Sub-Zero than optimize their gameplay. I main Sub-Zero and have been labbing Cyrax since she dropped and they're both on the same lvl in terms of strength and viability.
Sub-Zero and Smoke mains that beg for buffs are just pathetic.

His OH/Low is not a mix - I have two words for that: Fuzzy Guard.
He does get 35% meterless - from a 24-frame overhead that easily gets blocked on reaction and is death on block.
One of his free combo extensions is a 39-frame projectile that barely hits anyone and the other, though much more effective, gets him killed against most of the cast, including many characters that get full combos meterlessly on reaction to Sub using the move.
And neither Cyrax nor Sub-Zero are zoners, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

@@mrAPchem brother, his free combo extensions are his clone (which is his bread and butter combo), and his air kick (which is safe on block, if you unblock can be punished) his OH/low is lethal with chameleon. You can get 35% meterless with a kameo into his OH.
Sub might not be a zoner but he has a free clone every 3 seconds which comes back immediately if done into a combo, he has a free clone he can send out that destroys projectiles FOR FREE, and his meter burn ice all destroys, is slightly faster and leads to combos.
I play mk, maybe it’s a skill issue for you?

@@traviszombeck7379 Yes, try using Klone against a good Quan Chi. Or a Scorpion that knows that he can B3 on reaction. Or even against a character whose armor leads to a full combo.
Sub's Klone is good, but if it isn't safely setup with one of 2 Klone setups, he runs the risk of getting killed for doing it. The average KL player won't do it, but there are plenty of players that will.
Also, the Divekick, though a good move, is easily jabbed and/or Upblocked for a full combo at any height.
The strategies you are talking about work great on scrubs like the people that ElConejo fights. But against decent-to-good players, these tactics become null and void.
