the visual context of this song is everything. when i first watched the first song i didnt listen to the lyrics, but the song itself felt almost *comforting* and peaceful. *and then the cataurs and the nowhere king himself played the song*
The song of a villain who is something That Should Not Be But Is. And the fact it's sung in a soft,.lullaby tone combined with how the Nowhere King LOOKS only makes it that much more terrifying. Even with his backstory now in the finale of the whole show... That doesn't stop just how alien he comes off as.
I've lived through enough fantasy stories to hear a million different villains shout angrily "grr, you will die!" But that soft, singsong voice, _You will bring joy to the nowhere king_ _when he sees the light leaving your eyes._ That made blood run cold.
I remember first seeing Centaurworld and thinking it wasn't my type of show, and that it was for little kids to enjoy instead. I was wrong. I watched a few scene of the show on UA-cam, and when a channel I was subscribed to went over it, I thought I'd give it a try. First few minutes of the show hooked me in, but then Centaurworld came up and I still wasn't sure what to think. But...curiosity of Horse's quest back to Rider led me to continue watching it. As the minutes and episodes went by, I just kept getting dragged into the story, characters, and lore, and I came to love this show! Love the Nowhere King's song. It's really hauntingly beautiful and downright creepy when you pay attention to the lyrics. Sometimes I guess we got to really try things out, otherwise we wouldn't know what we're missing out on.
I also love how the Nowhere King himself sings it at some point, solidifying the fact that it's his song. I love it when baddies have songs that pop up way before they themselves appear
I was hooked when Rider sing to horse as they travel across that flaming, grimm, barren land, filled with weapons and corpse. Then the second episode hit me with the Taurnado that is one of the most terrifying thing I have ever seen in faction. The pacing works fine, they promise us 1 cool things after 2 crappy joke. Good deal.
I was a bit iffy on watching Centaur World. It looked like a show that could be either really good or terrible. I found this song being used in some other fanworks and after that I had to watch the show. Love this song.
When I heard this song for the first time I didn't feel it had a weird vibe but after seeing this video I changed my mind. The longer I listen to this song it makes my heart beat faster there's something about the lyrics, this song and the animation that makes me really uncomfortable
@@Beer_Wolf i feel like this is much worse than a song about death. Songs about death are kind of peaceful in the thought that you’ll never feel anything again. On the other hand, “dreamless sleep” on one hand could refer to death, but it could also refer to a literal dreamless sleep, in which you’re floating around in the void of blackness that is the nowhere king, just unable to die and feel nothing. “You will bring joy to the nowhere king when he sees the light leaving your eyes” sounds like emotional torcher. He’ll keep you trapped and slowly you’ll lose all sense of hope, becoming a shell of your former self. You’d be stripped of all the things that make you happy, but never be able to die. That sounds like a fate worse than death. TLDR: death doesn’t scare me, this song does.
This makes me remember a weird memory. When I was 6 and a half me and my 2 sisters and my mother were at a fair we had spent all our tickets and met up to relax for the rest of the day. We were laying on the grass but this grass was dead it was dark green just yellow no flowers were growing. My mom was on her phone my sisters were talking, and I was staring up at the clouds watching them slowly drift in the sky
This character and the song made me interested because of how eerie, creepy, demonic, eldritch, horrifying, terrifying, and nightmarish the Nowhere King is. He literally fits in well with other horror media, but the fact this guy was in a kids musical show, *AND SHOWED HIM EATING ONE OF HIS OWN SOLDIERS,* yeah this show would be metal. And I love it. It's a hit or miss since I get kinda bored but I still enjoyed it.
I finally figured out why I love it! Look up "Shadows of Mouldwood" - it's a sountrack from the game "Ori and the Will of the Wisps". The innocent song with terrifying undertones gets me every time
This song started out of nowhere when I was watching it and I was so confused... it's the first time he's introduced and I wasn't sure what I was expecting. I felt calm, yet unnerved at the same time. It was like I was in immediate danger, but there was nothing I could do about it, so why resist. This song is *beautiful.*
notice that wammawink is the only person who watches the flowers fly past at 0:35. i don't know what it means but it feels significant somehow, especially when the rest of the centaurs ignore them completely and horse gets distracted by her memories of the song.
shoutout to the genius character designer who put together that if you crank deer antlers up to 11 and make them webbed, you can have them resemble a wasps wings, letting them make the body a wasp but also have a deer skull for the head. Independently, these elements are creepy, together with the addition of it being tar and giant it becomes a singular achievement in the field.
I love how the Nowhere King also looks to be in physical pain when he emerges every movement he makes looks painful and he sounds sick like he's slowly falling apart abd considering his backstory and how he came to look like that it makes so much sense
The nowhere king was such a good villain because it wasn't expected I thought this show was just going to be a goofy kid's show but I was extremely wrong I love how the show seemed so innocent but wasn't at all.
This show started out joyful but as it went on it became more chilling and then seeing the introduction of the nowhere king gave me chills and goosebumps
Fun fact, this videos is what convinced me to watch Centaurworld. I heard this song on spotify, then looked it up bc it sounded neat and i found this vid. So, thanks, bc this show is pretty cool./gen :]
I love this lullaby, its a excellent format to send out such a menacing message, similar to pretty much all other lullaby's. They tend to be warnings, or songs of pure sorrow, but their sung so gently and softly they don't seem menacing regardless of the lyrics.
I just- words cannot describe how eerie but peaceful this song is. Also it fits perfectly with one of the WoF AU maps I watched. I just wanted to ramble about how good the song is so thanks for reading my ramble :D
Theory: Based off a mural shown at the end of the last episode of a human and a centaur. Long ago, a Centaur and a human were inseparable friends (or lovers?) But the other Centaurs made a terrible mistake (either on purpose or not) leading to the human dying or getting lost or stuck somewhere. The centaur became furious at the other centaurs and wanted revange but didn't know how. the centaur became friends with another human after years, the purple haired girl we've already seen who reminded him of the human who died/got lost/got trapped somewhere But it reminded him of what the centaurs did and all his hate for them came back, He didn't want the centaurs to take he new human friend. He became a monster. The purple haired girl didn't know why he was so mad, then he told her about what the centaurs did and how he had another human friend years ago. She felt betrayed because of how he didn't tell her. (listen to 0:38! "silent, secretive feeling of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies") He manipulated or controlled the Minotaurs into obeying him, and invaded centaurworld, killing wammawink's previous herd/parents and many more. but he was stopped by the purple haired girl who trapped him in the nowhere world and the minotaurs in the other world as she couldn't let him just destroy everything. The minotaurs had no way to do what he ordered them to do, attack centaurs-as there weren't any in this world. So they attacked humans instead.
Hush now, hide, all you little ones Rush now, into the middle of nowhere Singing and laughter will die Dreamless sleep, follows the Nowhere King When his kingdom comes, darkness is nigh Quiet, crawl to the in-between Silent, secretive feeling Of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies You will bring joy to the Nowhere King When he sees the light leaving your eyes
I like to imagine the "Quiet, crawl through the in-between, silent, secretive feeling of fearsome, hatred that reaches the skies" is about Elktaur using the key in secret to get rid of his self hatred, aka his animal half, aka the Elk.
Me watching centaurworld giggling and enjoying the joyful and lighthearted childish ambiance : "Eh eh this is silly" Also watching this épisode with wamawink traumatic childhood and this tune : "oh Fuck."
For some strange reason, the song is comforting to me. Much of what it says I can connect to my darkest fears, but when it puts it in a lullaby tone, suddenly it seems okay, like the comfort of someone singing such a soft melody while allowing me to consider and overcome with my fears in a way I am able to cope with in an emotionally stable way.
Man, talk about blowing past expectations. I was told this show was decent and to give it a watch. I never expected a villain so well-thought out, but that entrance… whooo boy! Damn.
Honestly i kinda don't like the idea of the nowhere king being a more traditional villain. I'd rather he remain this mysterious entity that just instills terror at the mere uttering of his name. And, side note, that entrance still sends chills down my spine, and it especially helps that it's accompanied by the nowhere king lullaby.
Ah yes. The fear of the lack of knowledge. The anticipation of what's beyond the veil of comprehension, what lurks in the darkness. It often strikes fear into the heart much more than the reveal.
This show has been underrated so badly😭 And I appreciate that you cut this with the line about "But what comes next may not be what she likes." Truly a beautiful starting of this song
I sorta get the feeling Wammawink also heard the words but she's not quite registering it as really happening because of the whole sleep deprivation thing... but she's seen the atrocities of war, just as Horse has, except Horse is only now learning how hellish it really is.
I can't help but feel that this scene was a homage to the scene in Disney's Alice in Wonderland where all the flowers were singing Golden Afternoon. Some of the flowers are even the same as was in the animation.
I love that this can bring the same kind of horrified chills I got from older shows like Adventure Time with the Lich, I've missed cartoons that aren't afraid to scare the audience
Good to see that the kids are being properly traumatized by the shows they watch, just like older cartoon network
And so the cycle continues. We're almost at Over The Garden Wall levels of disturbing
Wish I was tramitized by this thing as a kid though. 😂 but I was the little toddler who slept in the closet or under the crib, don’t ask my parents told me I did sleep in random of places.

I've lived through enough fantasy stories to hear a million different villains shout angrily "grr, you will die!"
But that soft, singsong voice,
_You will bring joy to the nowhere king_
_when he sees the light leaving your eyes._
That made blood run cold.
Question, was it saberspark?
@@Veracaide-st Yep!
Looks like we are kind of on the same page
Love this song.
same on all counts
When I heard this song for the first time I didn't feel it had a weird vibe but after seeing this video I changed my mind. The longer I listen to this song it makes my heart beat faster there's something about the lyrics, this song and the animation that makes me really uncomfortable
Something about the lyrics? It's literally a song of death...
If you're uncomfortable then maybe you just need a talk with
*Comfortable Doug*
The slightly out of tune music box notes, maybe? Usually, those convey wrongness or madness in most films I've heard them.
Thank you for sharing this. It's an eerie image.
1:47 “fearsome hatred that reaches the skies” as his antlers grow and reach for the skies.
The innocent song with terrifying undertones gets me every time
Brilliant game. Pure art
@@envyllaw4487 it really is. I had no idea how much I'd love it until actually playing it
This song started out of nowhere when I was watching it and I was so confused... it's the first time he's introduced and I wasn't sure what I was expecting.
Maybe in season two we will get answers to your theory
shoutout to the genius character designer who put together that if you crank deer antlers up to 11 and make them webbed, you can have them resemble a wasps wings, letting them make the body a wasp but also have a deer skull for the head.
Independently, these elements are creepy, together with the addition of it being tar and giant it becomes a singular achievement in the field.
dude is easily my favorite cartoon villain of all time
Despite the joyous tone, the constant insistence on silence sounds like a warning.
you will bring joy to the nowhere king.
When he sees the light
Leaving your eyes!
(Song fades out)
I love how the Nowhere King also looks to be in physical pain when he emerges every movement he makes looks painful and he sounds sick like he's slowly falling apart abd considering his backstory and how he came to look like that it makes so much sense
This + the super creepy part when the cats sing
Okay but the animation on the Nowhere king’s entrance was nice af
I cannot tell who the target audience for this cartoon is XD
I suspect that was their intention n_n'...
I think everyone should watch this show
It’s amazing to see how shows like these can suddenly become dark and serious with just a single scene
I've never been SO creeped out and also obsessed
Suddenly I'm getting Over the Garden Wall flashbacks.
Fun fact, this videos is what convinced me to watch Centaurworld. I heard this song on spotify, then looked it up bc it sounded neat and i found this vid. So, thanks, bc this show is pretty cool./gen :]
"I think I know this song." Hints that things are more connected than they seem...
this is my first time hearing this song
but it defiantly feels uncomfortably farmilliar
Sameeee
But why ??!
Out of all songs of Centaurworld, this is by far my favourite
Theory:
Based off a mural shown at the end of the last episode of a human and a centaur.
Long ago, a Centaur and a human were inseparable friends (or lovers?)
But the other Centaurs made a terrible mistake (either on purpose or not) leading to the human dying or getting lost or stuck somewhere.
The centaur became furious at the other centaurs and wanted revange but didn't know how.
the centaur became friends with another human after years, the purple haired girl we've already seen who reminded him of the human who died/got lost/got trapped somewhere
But it reminded him of what the centaurs did and all his hate for them came back, He didn't want the centaurs to take he new human friend.
He became a monster. The purple haired girl didn't know why he was so mad, then he told her about what the centaurs did and how he had another human friend years ago.
She felt betrayed because of how he didn't tell her. (listen to 0:38! "silent, secretive feeling of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies")
He manipulated or controlled the Minotaurs into obeying him, and invaded centaurworld, killing wammawink's previous herd/parents and many more.
but he was stopped by the purple haired girl who trapped him in the nowhere world and the minotaurs in the other world as she couldn't let him just destroy everything.
The minotaurs had no way to do what he ordered them to do, attack centaurs-as there weren't any in this world. So they attacked humans instead.
Actually decently close
After s2 pretty darn close buddy
Pretty close, was not expecting the actual ending though
the nowhere king deserves the w
Hush now, hide, all you little ones
Rush now, into the middle of nowhere
Singing and laughter will die
Dreamless sleep, follows the Nowhere King
When his kingdom comes, darkness is nigh
Quiet, crawl to the in-between
Silent, secretive feeling
Of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies
You will bring joy to the Nowhere King
When he sees the light leaving your eyes
I love the design of the nowhere king so much that I can’t even be scared of him, I’m just in awe :0
BRO IV WATCHED THIS FOR LIKE A YEAR AND FINALY ITS POPULAR FOR ONCE
oh good, glad to see we’re making terrifying children’s show villains again :)
Sorry but the way the skull just appears holy shit that is terrifying.
The song would suit over the garden wall so well
I like to imagine the "Quiet, crawl through the in-between, silent, secretive feeling of fearsome, hatred that reaches the skies" is about Elktaur using the key in secret to get rid of his self hatred, aka his animal half, aka the Elk.
I love how they individually animated the flowers dancing. It’s satisfying to watch in my opinion.
"Singing and laughter will die"
A hard but fair price for all the bloody singing to stop.
This is definitely one of the coolest cartoon villains I've seen in a long time. The song is a banger.
Me watching centaurworld giggling and enjoying the joyful and lighthearted childish ambiance : "Eh eh this is silly"
Also watching this épisode with wamawink traumatic childhood and this tune : "oh Fuck."
I’m going to start listening to this before bed, wish me luck
that line 'quiet, crawl through the in-between silence' really gets me every time.
This song now lives rent-free in my brain.
I love the melody, so light and calm just like most child nursery rhymes. With lyrics so dark.
the harmony of the last lines of the song consistently give me goosebumps
Man, talk about blowing past expectations. I was told this show was decent and to give it a watch. I never expected a villain so well-thought out, but that entrance… whooo boy! Damn.
Now that’s how you make a core memory 😅
Ok but secret feeling of fear realy payed off in the second season where the nowhere kings origin is revealed
The Nowhere King reveal is one of the best scenes I've seen in any show
My reaction to the end will always be “woooooh.. what dark souls monstrosity is this?!”
okay i'm aware that this show is probably just a lil too young for me but i'm watching it for the third time and i forgot how much this song slaps
REAL 😭 like I watch this show five times just to hear this banger
The nowhere kind gives me Aku mixxd with the lich vibes xD the creaking of his body, his stance, the slow movement
That’s when you hear boss music and you see a health bar with infinite hp
for some reason, this always reminded me of come wayward souls from over the garden wall
Love how a show as colorful as this can get really. Dark
just finished the finaly HOLY SHIT
"Dreamless sleep"
mhm.
mhm.
that's death.
mhm.
mhm.
ok.
If you could upload all the nowhere King scenes that would be great. Absolutely love him as a villain.
One of my top favorite villains and themes by a long shot
if the plants and flowers start singing about a mysterious murderous entity, thats a NOPE moment.
This show has been underrated so badly😭
And I appreciate that you cut this with the line about "But what comes next may not be what she likes." Truly a beautiful starting of this song
I think they're all just based on very basic flowers and some real flowers, like pansies and bluebells
1:20 no, bowjack this is no other side this is It.
0:17 this smile is precious
ngl this brought a wave of comfort and peace even though I know how unsettling the lyrics are..
I love that this can bring the same kind of horrified chills I got from older shows like Adventure Time with the Lich, I've missed cartoons that aren't afraid to scare the audience
