I'm not sure about the interview for Teen Vogue. I mean, what are her credentials besides coming from a rich family? She no doubt made the best of all the opportunities that were given to her from this show, but I'm not sure she would have gotten that interview without her fame and family connections.
@Se Se obviously certain things are manipulated but many cast members from Laguna Beach said Laguna Beach was much more real while The Hills was a lot more manipulated and fake. One of the reasons production chose to focus on Stephen, Lauren and Kristin was because they said when talking to the kids from the high school there names kept getting brought up.

She was just so much more relatable than anyone else. I mean her growing up so rich wasn’t really relatable at all but there’s just something about her!

@@sharondeepsays3551 It's true, if you watch Whitney Port reacting to episodes of The City, it makes it clearer how everything operates on these shows. Sometimes real, sometimes produced here and there to fill in the drama "gaps"

No matter how fake it was this song and the show will always mean so much to me. I used to love watching it. The same year the show started I moved to the U.S to do a college internship I was 19 and I was alone in the city living “my dream” I was living on my own having my own money, had the best job and had an awesome group of friends. I really thought I was “living the life.”😁😁

But yes, I was pissed! Lol but it was actually pretty smart on their end. We been calling them dumb and fake all that time. Acting like we’ve cleverly figured it out. And yet, we watched to the final minutes.. and was shocked to find it was faked. They went out in a very honest way. Confirming the speculations were legit. But of course they weren’t gonna tell us that during filming. It was their job, money, ratings.

I actually love the brutal honesty of the ending because anyone in the "LA scene" knows that the whole town is full of smoke and mirrors, a big shiny facade that's not too hard to pierce, and the once the flashy backdrop is removed you see how truly shallow and fake it all really is.
It's the flip phones for me.

michelle mayhem its not all fake! Parts of it are and there are definite real relationships and issues as well! For instance, Heidi and Spencer are really married! That would’ve been difficult to fake but sometimes the cameras would miss some of the things happening and they’d have to be recorded a second time later on. Also, they did occasionally insert fake storylines such as the Justin Bobby/Audrina relationship. Both parties say today that they were never more than friends!

LOL! I love how they completely exposed how fake reality TV was. That reveal of the background behind Brody and the him an Kristin leaving set together was fun to see.
I wish they had played the other joke alternative ending with Lauren moving in with Stephen.

After Lauren left this show was NOTHING. The producers tried keeping the show popping with Kristan but it wasn’t the same.
P.S. I LOVE THE THEME SONG! It was PERFECT!

I think MTV ruined her image. They demonized women at that time for being so confident, free spirited, and not so hung up on boys.
Heidi was so cute and innocent at the beginning. its such a shame she ruined her natural beauty. she was literally stunning :(

I honestly feel like everything she had done before season 6 made her better looking. Only when she got the 9, or however many it was, procedures in one day did she start to look like a different person.

Even if it was fake, the first and second seasons have a feeling of sincerity to them... and when you compare the first and last 5 minutes side by side you can really see how terrible the “acting” was. lol
95% of Lauren's seasons were real.
Kristin's seasons were completely fake.
Yeah I think he got increasingly fake as it went along but it was always fake. I think the first season of Laguna Beach had a little more of a documentaru feel.... There would be a party in the camera would kind of loosely peek around and serve events.
As the show got popular and evolved, the production value went way up, and agree to which there was any organic conversation was eliminated entirely.

Audrey wasn't actually her friend, they brought her in for an audition. When they filmed in downtown settings most of the time they were using the stage just like this
Ten years after finale and I’m still loving Brody on the set as it rolls away. Perfect ending to faux reality.
The ending was a real slap in the face for fans. Glad i never watched the show live 😅😅

I remember being SHOOK at the ending. I loved the hills so much it truly was my childhood and a huge part of my teen years!

Lauren’s interview went well until she made a face when asked if she can write well 😂. But the one thing that was refreshing was her honesty. I would have hired bc of that. You can always improve your writing

@@hofhofandaway - Lauren mentioned in an interview that she was broke after Laguna Beach ended, and she agreed to do The Hills when the producers approached her about it because it would bring her steady income and a chance to do the internship at Teen Vogue. Her dad is an architect, and they’ve shown her parent’s house many times - especially in the Laguna Beach. It’s a beautiful mansion. I highly doubt she was “broke” in the way that the average joe would be.
Awww...I loved these days. The Hills is such a classic, real or fake. I enjoyed it. The series finale reveal was so dope.
I think parts of the show they shared there lives with and other may have been made up know one really knows the truth but yes I thought it was all very real when
Lauren will always be an icon.
This show literally taught me how to iron my clothes with a flat iron😂😂😂 also taught me to "NEVER SAY NO TO PARIS" no matter what guy is in your life. I never did and now I'm happily married, and don't regret living my life first
