No matter how fake it was this song and the show will always mean so much to me. I used to love watching it. The same year the show started I moved to the U.S to do a college internship I was 19 and I was alone in the city living “my dream” I was living on my own having my own money, had the best job and had an awesome group of friends. I really thought I was “living the life.”😁😁

I actually love the brutal honesty of the ending because anyone in the "LA scene" knows that the whole town is full of smoke and mirrors, a big shiny facade that's not too hard to pierce, and the once the flashy backdrop is removed you see how truly shallow and fake it all really is.
I'm not sure about the interview for Teen Vogue. I mean, what are her credentials besides coming from a rich family? She no doubt made the best of all the opportunities that were given to her from this show, but I'm not sure she would have gotten that interview without her fame and family connections.

One of the reasons production chose to focus on Stephen, Lauren and Kristin was because they said when talking to the kids from the high school there names kept getting brought up.

Laguna Beach was the better show but I absolutely loved the Hills. I’m 33 now and the cast were the same age as me... it was so wonderful to spend my high school and 20’s with them!

That would’ve been difficult to fake but sometimes the cameras would miss some of the things happening and they’d have to be recorded a second time later on. Also, they did occasionally insert fake storylines such as the Justin Bobby/Audrina relationship. Both parties say today that they were never more than friends!

I bought season one n two of Laguna Beach on DVD back in 2014 n it was everything. I want to buy the entire series of Dawson creek season 3 was everything the Joey n Pacey saga!
Even if it was fake, the first and second seasons have a feeling of sincerity to them... and when you compare the first and last 5 minutes side by side you can really see how terrible the “acting” was. lol
Yeah I think he got increasingly fake as it went along but it was always fake. I think the first season of Laguna Beach had a little more of a documentaru feel.... There would be a party in the camera would kind of loosely peek around and serve events. As the show got popular and evolved, the production value went way up, and agree to which there was any organic conversation was eliminated entirely.

When this premiered, did not expect flasbacks of Laguna Beach. I legit teared up because my Junior and Senior year of high school was in 2005 so I was the same age. Watched both seasons religiously of course lol. When The Hills ended I was well into my 20s so it was like a final nod to those oh so chaotic formative teenage years.
I dont think people knew the real her from this show.. I can see the sweetness in her thats others cannot see. Only cause I've have had friends that pretty much are the same way.

Her dad is an architect, and they’ve shown her parent’s house many times - especially in the Laguna Beach. It’s a beautiful mansion. I highly doubt she was “broke” in the way that the average joe would be.
