- In today's furniture makeover, I found this dresser from a reseller near me. It was in such rough shape that it sat in my garage for months!!! Couldn't avoid it any longer so I first tackled the repairs to get to the fun part!! I used DIY Paint by @DebisDesignDiary to give me a fun textured look with stained top and 2 drawers. I share all the details with you as well as some fun bloopers at the very end.

You made the exactly correct choices. No-one would know it previously, barely qualified as firewood. It's now a classic beauty with a timeless appeal. No small accomplishment with this one. @@VintageAndPainted ... Ok so please explain this - how did I manage to fall through my kitchen floor?! I'll 'add insult to my injury' (I literally had bruises in places I didn't know could be bruised) - I did it twice. So falling off a stool seems reasonable. Apparently I am unreasonable. (Actually I know why it happened. Water infiltration compromised the subfloor. The floor felt a bit different but I never expected to end-up straddling a floor joist on Christmas Eve. Now it's comical. I am indeed my Mother's daughter.).

Hi Sarah! Since I have also fallen out of my chair in front of people, I found great comic relief in your blooper! Sarah I just love your humor and the fact that you dont take yourself too seriously! I am in love with this piece! It turned out so pretty especially when you compare it to how you found it! Amazing transformation. You did it the best way possible. No one would ever guess you did not put more into it than you did, as far as materials! Job very well done, IMO.

Love to 2 tone colors. I never thought about mixing stains.I had a piece ( that I kept for myself) that the veneer was peeling off. I ended up taking it all off (some parts easier than others) and painting it. You can’t even tell. Loved the bloopers.😂

Yeah Sarah, the Stain is GORGEOUS, and the Paint Compliments it soooooo MUCH!!!! I understand why you didn't buy Veneer to replace the Veneer on the piece that was messed up. My Gosh, you have to get a Bank Loan to go to the Grocery anymore!!!! And you can be REAL WITH ME ANYTIME!!!!

Oh what great graduation photos! Been there 4 times, know how you feel. Your execution on that dresser was great. I too am a use what you have kind of person 🤓.
