- We get Smirf ready and leave for the long awaited Euro Tour 2022 with Yorkshire Motoroamers. We arrive at Black Horse Farm CAMC Site for the night where Kevin and Trevor discuss some of the essentials when taking a Campervan into France.

Thanks for watching our videos. We include all things to do with motorhomes, campervans, van conversions, caravans and the great outdoors. We mainly tour the UK and camp around 80 nights per year in our 2021 IH Motorhomes N-680 CRL luxury VW Crafter van conversion. We offer advice, tips and tricks, review campsites and associated products or services. We also occasionally make videos about other trips we take without the motorhome.

The first French Aire is a cracker 🤣 spoiler alert 💕 Trev
Best to be prepared, Im glad you remembered the fish. Its very interesting to see how you loaded Smirf onto the train. ~ bon voyage !
Thanks John, the train journey from England to France was just 35 minutes 😃🚐 Trev
amazed at how much you have to think about logistics... you guys make it seem simple..... you could totally make a PDF list for people for planning. :)
Thank you 😊 the list is always changing. The rules by different countries is difficult to keep up with but the basics are much the same. 😃🚐 Trev

Really useful, if I’m ever brave enough to go 😁 I hope Sue is doing ok & you’re having a wonderful time. Em x
Thanks Em. Sue is coping well. It’s a reoccurrence of her pelvic pain which she is controlling with medication. We appreciate you asking 😊x
Very useful vlog as we plan to go to France next year. I hope Sue has recovered. Enjoy your holiday.
Thanks Pat, Sue increased her meds and all has settled down. We are enjoying the tour now with lots of time to relax and sightseeing too 😃🚐 Trev
Good luck you two..looking forward to an ebike review..go easy on the Pernod...
Haha, we hadn’t thought of Pernod but the local beers have gone down well 🍻 cheers. Bikes are great fun 👍🏻 Trev
That's an ideal campsite for the crossing. Nice to get an essentials rundown for those thinking about it. I had a giggle at the "I didn't know there was a 4.30am comment" Enjoy yourselves 😀Graeme
Thanks Graeme, the late hour of 2am is a time I frequently experience but I am not a morning person normally. It was great to get an early start on this occasion 😃🚐 Trev
How exciting! Hope you enjoy your trip and stay safe. 💕😊👍
Thank your 😊 Trev n Sue
Making sure you're prepared and having the essentials ready to go is so important. I'm so excited for you guys!
Thanks Angela, we hope you enjoy our European trip from the other side of the pond 😉🚐 Trev
Absolutely brilliant thank you safe trip x🥰
Thanks Jackie 😊 Take care, Trev n Sue
Great video Trev - very much appreciated the practical details to make the trip a success - hope the holiday is going well and looking forward to the next video
Thank you Clive, we are making good progress and happy memories 😃🚐 Trev
Really helpful vlog on the details of what to consider going to Europe - thank you for going through what’s required as it helps break down what to consider especially for pets.
Hope you have has a wonderful time. All the best. David & Rachel 👍
The key thing to do in our opinion is speak to your vets at least 3 or 4 months before you travel. They may not be able to issue the pet health certificates but will be able to do the Rabies vaccine and with your permission, provide health info to another veterinary practice for the documents to be issued 😃 Trev
Absolutely brilliant Trev & Sue, really good information for going into Europe. Looking forward to your videos on your trip.
Thank you so much 😊 we are well on our way into France now. Next video already scheduled for next Friday 😉. Trev n Sue
Very enjoyable folks, safe journey 😊👍
Thank you Mark 😃🚐 Trev
very entertaining and informative video thanks for sharing now go and enjoy your trip👍
Thanks Mark, really appreciate your comments and support 😃🚐 Trev
Enjoy your Euro tour Trev & Sue, stay safe. There will be lots of new " smells" for Oscar & Sophie to enjoy too. Looking forward to all your videos of the tour. 👍😊
It’s always going to be an extra consideration when dogs are taken abroad but it’s a passion that we have to keep our pets as part of our family. I am sure they prefer being with us rather than being left behind 🙂🦮🚐 Trev
Hi Trev and Sue, really enjoyed this video very informative, hope Sue felt better the next day 💕exciting on the euro tunnel, I’ve been on it once but in a car, looking forward to your next video x
Thank you Julie and Tony, Sue has been struggling with her abdominal pain which started in March 2020. It’s currently under control but will probably need further investigation when we get home 🙂 Trev n Sue
@@PoshcatsCamping oh dear I am sorry, hope it eases for your trip x
Hello you two, catching up with your videos. I've been a busy bee.Keeping up on FB though. xxx
Hello Vic, lovely to see you on here. Hope you are well 💕👍🏻 Trev n Sue
@@PoshcatsCamping yes doing good here, thank you and hope you're enjoying your trip xx
How exciting but very stressful.xxx take care.xxx
Yes Gill, it can be very stressful but all we can do is carry out a bit of planning and assess any risks before we start. None of us can predict the unknown so of course it’s easy to become anxious about the trip 😊🚐 Trev
I have a checklist for every single trip we take. Even if it's just a weekend. There are just certain things that I feel like I can't not have with me when we go. Definitely good to take documents that may be needed. For here vehicle stuff tends to stay with the car/truck as per the law, but things like dog records are something I do try to remember to have with us. I keep a copy in the camper. Just in case we are required to show them. Haven't had to yet, but never know when that could happen. Wow there sure is a lot to do before entering another country. I've never been outside the US. We've only been on a ferry once. And it wasn't with the camper. Just a car. But it was a pretty neat experience. How exciting that you're on your way for this amazing trip!
Thanks so much. We have been waiting for this trip for too long. Europe was experiencing restrictions until quite recently, so we are pleased we can now travel freely without problems 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Your van is impressive I am highly surprised your van comes in at 3500kg are the modifications like no sliding door and no back doors lighter.
Yes they are considerably lighter than the steel doors on the rear and side. The windows are double glazed Perspex and not glass which is also lighter. The payload is approximately 350 Kg after adding fuel, LPG, water and a driver. 🙂 Trev
Enjoy
Thank you Keith 😊 Trev n Sue
Brillant lots of great information for france off to buy a motorhome folder what a good idea . Saw your youtube about your journey recenty come back fromTuscany it was beauiful stay in monticelli terme near Lucca a great place to visit if you get the chance .Have a safe jounery touring Lynn and Alan
Thank you. We are hoping to get to Lucca and have hired a car for 5 days to help us get into some of the beautiful places 😃🚐 Trev n Sue
Heat vid tev and sue a lot off essential items paperwork to have enjoy your trip all the best donny
Yes more paperwork and the pet health certificate is a real scam imho. What a total waste of time. Onwards and upwards 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Folks have a good run….I’ll be watching with interest as I’ve been building up to a European run for a couple of years now but always manage to think of an excuse not to go….hope Sue is feeling better.
Thank you, there seems to be a lot more to think about these days but once done, the tour gets started and all the paperwork seems worth it 🙂🚐 Trev
Hi Trev, hope you are all well and having a nice time, my father was also called Trevor! I also have a van with an underslung LPG tank, and was wondering when they check that your gas was turned off before boarding the Eurotunnel, was it the tank itself under the van or the isolation knobs inside the van? Many thanks.
They usually want to see the isolation valve on the underside of the van next to the tank. I carry a small mirror to lay on the ground so I can see exactly where it is without rolling on my back in the ground 😃. On this occasion, the inspector just asked me at the window of my cab if it was isolated and she didn’t want to see it. I said yes the valve underneath is off, and she waved me through the bay and onto the queue ready to board the train 🙂👍🏻🚐
On my VW in settings I can change from left hand drive to right hand drive, this changes the headlights and negates having to use them stickers - worth checking your settings
That’s interesting 🤔 I don’t think my van has that setting but what a great feature to have. Cars seem to have the technology first and the vans inherent it on later models 🙂🚐 Trev
"Water Infection, just going to go with the Flow " No Pun intended there Trev 🤔
Did You do the Head light Beam Adjustment Trev or did i miss that
Looks Exciting Start to Journey 👍
We applied the headline beam stickers but after we had arrived in France. It’s good policy to do it on the day of travel on the crossing to be sure you are within the law 😃 Trev
All those stickers you won't see out the windscreen.
😂 yes, I said that to Kev but they are fairly small. 🚐 Trev
The start of a great trip. Did you turn off speed camera detection on your sat nav as I believe it's not allowed in France? Not sure about dashcam use in Europe as well
We discussed the speed camera detector but left it on. To date it has not provided a warning so I suspect the software does not have the French speed detection cameras written in the software 🙂 Trev
Angles morts stickers are for motorhomes over 3500kgs, so a van of 3500kgs does not need any stickers. Enjoy your holiday.
Yes, that’s correct 🙂 it seems a strange requirement that a sticker should be needed on such a huge vehicle. If you can see the sticker, surely you have seen the vehicle? 😃 Trev
