What was your favorite Star Wars memory?
You missed a GIANT item in the history. In 1987 the RPG released and named everything that wasn't already named and rebuilt the fan base that had waned by then. The VHS release in 1982 had been long since sold out and the demand that was being built by the gamers discovering Star Wars and making West End Games the second largest Table Top RPG company behind TSR with D&D. With out the RPG Star Wars would have just been three movies we loved back in the day.
That is a great point! I couldn’t fit everything in but it is definitely a big part of the fan base sticking around
Recent weird ones: lightsaber squad, the lightsaber that you can record your own sound to for its noise, the lightsaber builder kits that you can make lightsaber tridents and the like, the baby aliens that tried to capitalize on the popularity of Grogu
Extraordinary production quality for a channel of this size. You're destined for greatness man keep it up!
I truly appreciate that!
Mego's CEO Marty Abrams was getting the license to Micronauts in Japan in 1976, while Lucas Film was shopping the license. Nobody else at Mego could sign off. Having one guy with the final say is not a great move, but Mego per se, never rejected a Star Wars toy license
Cap Candy had another hidious Star Wars candy toy besides the JarJar lollipop. It had a candy dispenser of the market. It's creepy!
Great video
Oh man, you mentioned the tie in that they had with Pizza Hut when the prequels came out. That brings back some memories, and not particularly good ones. People were kind of crazy trying to get all of the Star Wars stuff. I even remember one lady who got mad when she found out that we had sold out of whichever one of the cup toppers it was that she had wanted. She yelled at me, as if it was my fault, and demanded I get her one somehow as if I could magically make more of them out of thin or or something. I had that job for over two years and there were definitely some stressful interactions with customers, but I think I'd say that one was probably the worst.
Wow! It definitely was a crazy time
I was there in 77 and i must say the worst character of all time is jar jar binks but the carbonite joke is funny ❤😊
Japan still has some weird Star Wars merch, like the lightsabre chopsticks or the possibly weirdest: The Tomica Star Wars Star Cars: Tsum Tsum Series. So the weird Star Wars merch definitely hasn't died out.
Enjoyed the video I didn’t realise how many weird Star Wars merchandise there was for these movies also did you hear that mark hamill is doing another send in with official pix and do you plan on getting any signed by hamill me personally I’m going to try and get a joker 8x10 signed kind regards Nathaniel
