FYI you can actually fit 3 bodies cut up in the front compartment if you arrange them carefully.

For the motor mount issues, I would recommend replacing it with the stock mount instead of the dynamic mounts that come with the Sport Chrono package. The stock mounts are far cheaper and no one could really tell the difference in handling. That said I've never had my mounts go bad nor any other issues.

Nice vid! I can tell you BMW's can have some stupid high running costs. My 2011 135i was costing me $1k-$5k per year to keep it on the road. I traded it after 3 years (and a $5k repair bill) for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, saves me a boatload of cash so I'm happy. I've been wanting a 981 Cayman for a while as summer "toy", hopefully next year!

I like the look of the Cayman S way better with a larger wing on the back. I don’t like the way it slopes down so far.

Good review. I own a agate grey 981 Cayman S with Carrera classic wheels and absolutley love it. It's fast enough but to me the enjoyment is really an overall emotional one. She looks very pretty, sounds fantastic and is a perfect balance being mid engined. She also has very good storage for a sports car but I have never carried any cut up dead bodies in it. 😂

@@wernerschwarz7596 nonetheless though, they are both RWD sport cars with similar power designed around the driving experience with a huge price difference. In the video I even say, the Porsche is like a 350z but better in every aspect, but that doesn’t change the fact that I enjoy driving my 350z just as much as the 981. They both have their quirks and both have their areas that they shine in.

I had a 350z as my first real sports car. Had to get a 335i xdrive for awd, but am looking to get into a sportscar again. Eventually got a e92 m3 comp 6 spd but sold it after 2 weeks. Engine is amazing but the car is too big and heavy and definitely a gt cruiser and not a sports car. Seems like the cayman is what I’m looking for.

What is the difference between sport and sport plus?

    • @bromygod33
      @bromygod33  Рік тому

Sport is great for going on spirited drives or aggressive daily driving. It keeps the revs lower when you’re off the throttle but is still responsive as soon as you step on it. Sport+ keeps the revs high, shifts hard, immediate throttle response, engine braking, and the exhaust pops and bangs between shifts.

Everyone says that they love these cars and how good they are but then sells them in a year or two. Most of them have 4 or 5 owners at less than 10 years old.

I feel like a lot of the resale is to combat depreciation. I’ve had a lot of fun with the car but it was my first Porsche and in the last year I’ve learned that there’s 4.0h6 Caymans that make around 400hp and that sounds much more fun to me.

@@bromygod33 That's not too bad. In the UK a 981 S is £30-40k depending on spec. A used 718 4.0 is £70-£83k! Definitely not worth it over here. I do tend to prefer the 981 headlights and bumper too.

Well the 350Z,370Z and new Z, are awesome at 1/3 the price.
    When Porsche made the 911.
    Datsun made the 240Z.
I was in high school, then ,you know before there was dirt.
Any way if you had a 240 Z you could SHOCK a 911 owner, that thought he was going to defeat you in the next few corners.
The better driver, was NOT ,usually in a Porsche, just rich guys that, thought the car would do it for them.
So it was so much fun to see their face of shock, in your Z rear mirror....
If Nissan had left the design and engineering department alone, Nissan would have been beating Porsche all these yrs.
But greed and marketing took over, Nissan tried to sell passenger Car Drivers a Z.
So they kept adding features and weight .
Porsche did the exact opposite, they shunned passenger car, driver's, and stayed light, no creature comforts, just more power, better suspension, built better chassis, JUST FOR THE SPORTS CAR DRIVER!
PORSCHE has built Sports Car Drivers the four wheel tool, they need for road or track.
The Z stumbled and fell, while Nissan pretty much killed the Z. Then tried to bring it back ,by then the World of Sports Cars had changed, and Porsche was light years ahead, so the Z could only play catch up.
Today the newest Z is heavy,so it needs the 400hp.
Porsches are lighter, and three times the price for a base model.
So Nissan Z remains the blue collar ,Porsche.

This is such a cool story on the history! Thanks for sharing. I’ll always hold a soft spot for Z cars. The driving experience in modern Porsches is just something like no other though.
