You could create a design with some thing that you know that will make you happy and probbibly be able to draw it again and again... it doesn't matter if someone had a similar idea for it :D (I realized that there is a ton of dark grey wolves with a teal blue poof with white paws and a white belly XD) (So sorry for spelling mistakes XD)
I know I'm super late but I couldn't help myself. You could always make a hybrid if you demand originality-- a dragon fox, a folf, or something similar helps to add character while retaining as many original features as you want! But as long as you're happy there's no need for forced originality. I'm curious what your character is nowadays!

I think using a rag or something that covers the 1 foot or half a foot dragging area. just use something bigger.

You could try using a ribbon, assuming gender,tie it around and make a bow, or something.
You could make a tail cover... Just trace out the part of your tail that drags add a couple inches then make a second bit.. and see together.

My friend is currently trying to make a new main fursona and cannot stick with one. She always asks me for ideas but I don't want to give her much of what I think is right and wrong for her fursona. How can I help her make a fursona she will stick too and actually like?
