I remember most of these toys! Born in late 50’s but you played with lots of toys. Us kids were always outside playing in any weather...now those were the days!!!!!!! A USAF Veteran 🇺🇸
Christine Klinger What great times we had. So simple. I was born in 1945, loved my Tinkertoys!! And every other toy I received. Those were the best of days, thanks for the video! I still have my hockey game and view master from the ‘50’s!
I agree, Ismael! In sixth grade I played marbles during recess. One day, I won the marble champion's bolder. I can still remember the stunned look on her face. It must have really hurt to hand it over to me. At the time, I was in the sixth grade and I was jumping up and down with joy. I don't know whatever happened to my prized marble. And even though I won it fair and square, if I had that marble today, I would give it back to her. :-)
111,000 hits! My mother (who passed away in 2009) would have been thrilled. Thank you, youtube viewers. It makes me feel as if she is still around when I visit here every now and then. Thanks:)
I had lots of these in the early 60s.fire engine, tric,bb gun,all kinds of toy guns and we never became killers! We sure had a lot of fun with the simple things.we listened to the radio a lot. we had some used televisions when i was a kid.But that was only because my uncle was a tv repairman.Sometimes we made our own toys.sure spent a lot of time outside and being active.I hardly ever see kids riding a bike anymore. My bike was my freedom.Got my first one from the town dump.Never been happier!
I was born in 1968 but I remember many of these toys because my mother would buy them for me from yard sales and thrift stores and people would give us their hand-me-downs...I had so much fun!
I was a child of the 70's and 80's, but I vividly remember playing with that Fisher Price Jalopy. A big part of my early childhood was spent towing that thing around the house and marveling at the way it wobbled from side to side. Such were the simple joys of youth!
Wow... I was born in 1963 & I still have my rocking horse, the springs & the frame in my basement! I remember the Christmas that I got it too! I was going down memory lane while watching the video... so awesome! Great video & thanks for sharing!
I have the exact same rocking horse in my basement too! I'm a little too big for it now, but I'm hoping my grandchildren will enjoy it - the springs still seem to be in very good shape.
I actually had the rocking horse and the tricycle in this video. Beyond toys you played with, my folks bought us a little record player and Disney used to produce records of songs that were featured on their full length animated films like the soundtrack from Pinocchio or Song of the South. You could also get recordings of Sylvester and Tweetie Bird singing children's songs. And to keep me occupied, my mom got me the miniature bake set. She made everything from scratch so when she baked pies, she'd give me some of the extra pie dough to roll out and make my own little pie.
Re: OUIJA ....I live in a old suburb outside Boston. The town was established in the 1690s. So this is an old area with a lot of creepy old houses etc, My wife told me this story when we were first dating in about 1980. A girl in her class had suddenly stopped showing up for school. The family had quickly sold their house and moved. The story eventually got back that the girl had inadvertantly summoned some hostile former owner of the house that caused so much terror that they just had to move
I remember i had one of those horses when we lived in parris texas, that was back in 1961-1964 but i well remember him,i can remember my mom putting me on his back, and i could ride him for 2 maybe 3 hours, with out ever stopping. My mom said she would be willing to bet i rode him well over 100 miles all 2gether.
Marbles were my NUMBER 1 favorite! I still have my entire collection. Slinky, tops, Chinese Checkers, the rocking horse with springs, adjustable roller skates, wooden sled, orange Tonka dump truck, jacks with rubber ball, Old Maid playing cards, Tinkertoy set, Davy Crockett hat, we loved them all. I never understood the point of Mr. Potato Head though. In our home, potatoes were for eating, and that was it!
Ah, Bunny Foo Foo. The version I learned, he was a full blown rabbit who was going around SMASHING the field mice on the head. A real psychopath if ever there was one. Just imagine, a lot of the goons in the world today may once have been field mouse head-smashers. :-/
I was born in 1963 and sure would have loved to have had a doll house. I think I got some toy cook things like you see on here. I remember getting a doll when I was pretty small, her name was Victoria but I called her Vicki, I loved my Vicki doll and would love to go online and see her somewhere.
Hi! The Tiny Tears dolly with the bubble pipe. Priceless! LOL! There were always two sets of new dishes for me under our Christmas tree, the pots and pans set and the one with the dishes. Oh, and Mr. Potato Head! And jump rope, marbles, and jacks, all a kids' best friend! My dad grew up during the 'Great Depression,' so he always made sure all of us kids got plenty of presents to open on Christmas morning from Santa Claus. One Christmas (1965) he fell on financial hard times, and he said he went around begging for store credit, then the store manager at W.T. Grants Dept. Store (in So. Cal) gave my dad credit on a handshake. Can you believe that? My dad said that once he got back to work that he paid that loan off as quick as he could. My dad (a WWII) vet is gone now, but I tear up everytime I think of that story. Thanks for putting this video together and sharing it with us! Have a great week! :-) :-)
you may have done this too......we used to take marbles and heat them up in the oven, in a pan. Take the pan out of the oven then pour cold water on the marbles in the pan. They crackled and looked quite pretty that way. I just loved board games too....Clue, monopoly....I even liked the nancy drew board game.. I used to play it with my sister. Clue always had such a good sense of mystery around it.
You did a good job on this video! You had stuff I had completely forgotten about, like the play cash registers, doctor kits, Tiny Tears doll and much more. Thank you for the trip down Memory Lane! 🤪👍😃
@@glorialittle3656 I am soon to be 71 and I remember having my Tiny Tears doll! My favorites however were my paper dolls which I collected, until my little brother was born and took it upon himself to shred them to bits in his "terrible twos"! That little girl inside of me is still not at all happy with that. LOL. I feel like I've lived 5 lifetimes through the decades, and still, such memories persist! 😀 What a hoot!
2:16 I remember when a toy company could make a TOY that looked JUST LIKE a Ford or a Chevy; & as long as they did not have the emblem on it NOT have to pay A BUNDLE 4 LICENSING cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the memories. They remind me of the good parts of my childhood. They also bring back some stark full-blown sad memories, too, but I'm going to push those back into the corners of my mind where they seem to stay quite well all these years.
Wow i am from the '80s but i remember 4 toys in here!!wow...before toys became a marketing frenzie without soul, memories and simplicity.those were the days...
Born in the 1950s here with 3 brothers and sisters . We had about half of that stuff, Many toys back then like the tinker toys and Fisher Price were still made out of wood back then.
Some of these toys lasted into the 1980s. I would not trade my age for anything in the world We did not have technology but had more intellegence. A bunch of dummies led by GPS are the norm today
My wife's mother (she was 97) was full of item's such as you showed. We had a book that had nothing (I mean nothing) past the Mississippi river, she said (my wife's mother) that she taught school with several of those books (many years ago). This is very nice, thank you so much for posting !! And yes, my wife and myself are quite old.
Very nicely done, but from a boy's perspective you left out the Number One most desirable toy of the 50's - an electric train. The Lionel Corp. (still making trains today) had its biggest sales year ever (in its 100-plus-yr history) in 1953... You also had American Flyer, Marx, Kusan, and other smaller companies. Any chance you'll do another video?
All those toys required creativity and imagination. Kids have little to no imagination these days. I was born in 1947 and we made up a lot of our own games, and we were truly always outside playing until lunch or dinner time. Kids today are entertained, but somewhat out of necessity. Today’s reality is that it isn’t safe for children to run free in their neighborhoods like we did anymore, some aren’t even safe in their own front yards. It’s a sad thing, and not the fault of the children, but they’re missing out on so much. There really is no good answer to that problem, and I’m confident parents are doing the best they can.
In the 1960s I walked by myself, back and forth every day, for awhile I was sticking out my thumb, pretending I wanted to hitchhike a ride , but then one car started slowing up a little for me - no, I then ran and took off! Yes! I used to do rthat with those plain, clear marbles. Cracking them made them a lot more interesting to look at. Monopoly was our all time favorite board game, but we also loved Scrabble, I also loved anything made by Whammo. We had a Ouija board, but it got a little too creepy when the lights started going on and off while we were summoning various spirits!

You found the Daisy Air Rifle target but you don't show the Red Ryder B-B gun. Most of these toys came from late Fifties and early Sixties. No video games or I pods but toys that you could get involved with. What one video game cost today, our parents could have bought us enough toys for an entire year.

I remember those toys. They were made out of tin or wood, hardly any were made out of plastic.
boy that took me back to very happy time in my life
Thanks for the vid, jogged a few memories for me.
My wife was born in 1961 and she has sung the Bunny Foo Foo song for years but I had never heard it before. I will save this video for her.

Memories. Us 4 kids had so many of those toys. The peddle car saw its way through all of us. Talk about nostalgia

yer my dad had a charley weaver toy wen he was little and i rember playing with it aswell
very cool
Marbles were my ultimate toy. They were like humans to me. I still have my entire collection. I had a Just Like Mom's set, but I subverted the original purpose of it. I turned the stove sideways and it became the Marble Headquarters, the mop became a little girl with long hair, the broom became a fan boat, and the ironing board was turned upside down and covered with towels, becoming the "Good Ship Aurora" with its crew of marble passengers sailing the 7 seas!
E Mack Marbles are still like humans to me! 😆 Thats a weird comment!
E Mack Maybe you lost your marbles?
I see 8 toys I had but some of these toys are from the early 60s.
good job
Little Bunny Fufu is EPIC!
I had one of those spring riding horses. It was blamed for an intestinal hernia I developed and had to have surgically corrected. Don't know how true that was, but I never played with it again.

i would trade all video games and stuff like that to have these back

the little typewriter I wish I could have one*O*
my god i haven't heard "little bunny foo foo" in years!!
Woah this video is from 2007!!
What ever is so 'good' about that fairy? She stood in the way of love! D:
This version is propaganda. Little Bunny Froo Froo wasn't originally kissing field mice. He was bopping them on the head XD Either that or the field mice didn't want to be kissed. No means no after all.
Dragonrider1227 i heard it as little rabbit foo foo
+MartenFerret Inter-species love is really of questionable benefit to anyone. Then again rabbit-therapists are rare.
Philip Jones Teehee!
0:53 I used to have that XD
I wasnt around in the old days (im only 13)
but man that stuff was pure epic O.O
the toys now are not as good
I was a child in the early sixties but I still had many of these toys. Great fun I remember. Did not bunny fufu bop the field mice on the head?

No video games or I pods but toys that you could get involved with. What one video game cost today, our parents could have bought us enough toys for an entire year.
gee whiz..
these toys are better than the ones now.
LOL! The doll with the pipe in her mouth looks RIPPED!
