Hey Deano yes that wasnt out at the time of this vid but it is a decent purchase as having the better esc and driveshafts and things already installed just saves a job :)
I'm really torn on choosing between those two models, thank you for this comparison, I'll definitely, go with + version, and will detach the wing for learning period. One question: Where can I find this "bag" on non-plus Quantum at the beggining of the video? Looks super useful for keeping the insides relatively clean, especially since the plus version has pinion not enclosed, I'm guessing one rock in there could shatter it :/
Hiya thanks for the comment. The cover is by Dusty Motors. The Q and Q+ both need a Universal Cover in size Medium. I just ordered one for the + as you correctly pointed out that the gear is exposed and ours already had some marking from stones/debris. WWW.DUSTYMOTORS.COM
guys i had this issui with it being slow i noticed my motor wires was the wrong way around it was faster in revers. it should do over 40mph im sure its alot faster than my mt10. have a look, i also brought mine from modalsport also.
Hey Ryan: www.modelsport.co.uk/product/422709 (Available elsewhere too) Dusty Motors shroud in medium size. Great things I run them on any rc I can fit them on, keep out all the dirt and stones, stop things getting jammed in fans or chewed by the spur, stops things getting coated in mud so you cant get allen keys in! Highly recommend!
Well we have both so can give an informed opinion. For driving / tracks / fast stuff: Q➕ Bashing: Rival Aftermarket support...not much in it, can basically get aftermarket arms for both and thats about it.
@@MPRCBBRR yeah iv seen u guy's have them both. Really drawn to the Q+ but just looking at how much of a pounding the rival can take, Just concerned that the Q+ will break on me if i bash it too hard. The rivals seem out of stock in quite a few places, which leads me to believe they must be really good.
@@mattverlander545 yeah I'm not too in to the whole skatepark stuff, I like jumping and bashing but not the deliberately trashing stuff. I am hoping to get the new short course truck which is based on the rival. They are certainly more bashing orientated but also a bit of an oddity as the rival has race type parts like an anti-roll bar (sway bar) and stuff. It's a personal choice one really. Or get a regular quantum for nearly 100 quid cheaper (they come with an 80A esc now too) spend the 100 on uprated arms, servo, wheels/tyres, spares etc and use that as a basher 🤷♂️
5500mah 3S Gens Ace hardcase 5500mah 3S Overlander soft case Wouldnt recommend soft case lipos for bashing as they get beaten up but just to run on pavement they are ok!
It doesnt make sense to buy it with 2s does it? Even for a beginner .. its so stable and top speed is lower, plus you can always tune ig down on a controler
@@DrVitalliO yeah I'd say in the original quantum 2S is fine when its all stock and 3S is too much (although now they come with an 80A esc that handles it well) the ➕ needs 3S though!
@@MPRCBBRR oh wow, thats amazing. Cos i was really struggling to find a specific wheelie bar for the plus lol. But thats great news, cos im really keen to have a wheelie bar that fits it. I think is defo a must have. 😊👍🏻
This is a pretty normal issue with all rc cars, if you mean front wheels wobbling when in reverse? This is because to help stability at speed, most cars and trucks run "toe in" which is where the front of the wheel points slightly inward when viewed from above. This keeps them straight at speed. However when you reverse the wheel is doing the opposite and almost drag along, so you get wobble. My old Traxxas was terrible for it.
@@RRedefined it is a bit slower mph wise, but it all calculates correctly with gearing/wheel size/motor kv. The thing is, stats aside in the real world the + is at least twice as quick as you can use the power way easier, accelerate harder without wheelying, brake later into corners, power out earlier...it is so much more controllable that it destroys the regular Q, and it is a lot stronger I have done both Q diffs twice now but not a thing on the +.
@@MPRCBBRR Yeah thats true but I've seen 45mph stock runs on the +, thats why I'm asking, huh I'll look more into it, thank you so much for your quick response have a great day :)
Good review. I've got one ready to buy in my Modelsport basket.
Cool video! Thanks
I would love to know some cool places like that around london to go with the quantum+ i just bought
Fun video guys..I love both mine..Take the lil washers off the axels and replace with 12mm ones to fill the void
Great video & comparison guys, also cant wait to see the Jumpshot Flux MT run as well that was sat there + your thoughts on that as well.
Jumpshot video will be done in the next day or two, it's utterly bonkers!
@@MPRCBBRR Great, I have been thinking about getting the longer wheelbase Jumpshot ST Flux.
I think maverick have made a 80a version of the base quantum but with the hd driveshafts and axles now
Maverick are listening to us customers and certainly appear to be making the effort to get it right.
Yup they did
This motivated me to buy a plus, thanks.
Bet you regret that now😂
This could and should have been so much better in the durability aspect
Would recommend the mt flux upgrade model it's 20£ more but you get 80a esc and hd drive shaft and something else the speed and power is crazy😁

@@MPRCBBRR Thank you very much!
Get my OG tomorrow kinda wished I'd waited and saved for the plus now though lol.
Recently sold my Flux MT for the +XT. Can't wait to run it!
Any idea's if the wheelie bin the older models fits into the new quantum PLUS??
@@mattverlander545 I have no idea. I forget what that area looks like on the smaller vehicle
Do you remember where you got that mesh body cover? I like that need to get me one
Hi Travis it is a "Dusty Motors" universal shroud in size "M". They are distributed through quite a few stores or I believe its dustymotors.com.
@@MPRCBBRR Thanks it looks great on this

More likely that you’ve swapped the channel selectors over on your controller.
Add 2 teeth to the pinion to makek up for the lower kv to regain lost speed.
where do you get that bag you keep on the inside of the rc!?

@@MPRCBBRR absolutely incredible idea! iv had my maverick out 15 20 runs and its filthy 🤣
I got 41mph stock out the box 34mph seems a bit slow. I hit that speed consistently
What would you say is better?? The maverick quantum PLUS OR the team associated Rival MT10??

My friend i want to ask you if you notice any high temps on the motor when bashing 3s. Thanks.
Hasnt got hot yet. But then it is also very cold outside still here (air temps)
Hey guys, do u know if the wheelie bar that fits the normal quantums fits onto the Maverick quantum PLUS?? any help would be great. Kind regards Matt.
Hi Matt. Yes, I did that the other day. The front / rear assemblies are the same as the Quantum. Also helps soften nasty rear landings!

What is the name of the Upgraded one with the better esc?
