You've been killing it with these interviews. Daniel is one of the OGS and he has one of the best collections of tutorials with applications for all levels of calisthenics enjoyers.
Glad you're enjoying them man! Damn right, Daniel is a true OG in the fitness/calisthenics space and has been giving premium content from the start. Was really happy to have him on.
Great interview. Most people think that building muscle = gym, considering calisthenics exercises like some joke. Daniel and others from the calisthenics community are doing a great job helping people that do not have access to the gym to build muscle and strength correctly, no 10 min circuit oxygen curl work out.
Daniel is one of the only naturals who are 6ft tall that look like they have big arms. It's inspiring me to take weighted calisthenics more seriously. I haven't finished the interview yet but curious if he goes into his measurements at all.
One of the first programs I made for myself while I was in the army was a modified version of Naturally Enhanced mixed with recommendations from Fitness FAQs because I loved barbell training but needed the ability to do high rep calisthenics. Great interview, curious and excited to see who else you bring on.
this was your best interview yet. both of your channels along with the german calisthenicsmovement guys are the content I find myself watching and looking back at the most!
My 2 favourite content creators for years, you've changed my life and training mindset for the best - couldn't believe it when i saw this video popup! Thank you so much to both of you for all your knowledge and helping others improve. Humble, respectful and no bullshit. Absolute bloody legends!
Bro I took advice from both of you years ago and started prioritizing pull ups over lat pull downs … haven’t done a LPD in years just hit one for max stack (295 lbs). The carryover is real, the advice is legit, these guys know their stuff.
4:36 Damn, can only imagine the time and dedication to be THAT advanced but still fail and get frustrated. That looks like an insane feat. Really opens my eyes to the longevity calisthenics has compared to what I used to think of it. Definitely not as limited as I thought

Another banger of a podcast video with one of the best in the biz! Didn’t realize he’s been on UA-cam since 2010. A few minutes in & looking forward to all the good dialogue & calisthenics info to come. Keep these awesome collaborations coming brother! 👍
Excited for this interview. Two of my favorite UA-camrs. Daniel’s Body By Rings program saved my gains early in the pandemic. Calisthenics has been a staple part of my training ever since.
Wow 2 of my favorite fitness channels collabing i can't believe this. Im sure there is tons of interesting stuff you guys talk about can't wait to listen to all of it!
This had so much knowledge, hoping you guys catch up and do another few podcasts soon with the journeys you both been on the past few years, keep up the great work!
The combined experience here is highly respectable. You two really brought a lot to the table with this video. I wanted to say I really enjoyed this talk, start to finish. Gotta appreciate Daniel’s humbleness
Love the weighted calisthenics, started doing this years ago and it changed my life. I feel great, and got my self in the best shape of my life. I’ve learned the secret is patience. Love these podcasts, do more of them 👍🏼.
Epic podcast!!! Gotta replay asap! So many golden nuggets again!!! Alex your discussion videos are always a great time investment!!! Thanks for everything! 🙏
Great conversation, I've followed Daniel with FitnessFAQs for a over a year now, I started calisthenics early last year and was able to put on 25 pounds over the course of the year, obviously this was not all muscle, I started at around 175 ibs at around 12-15% BF and ended the year at 198 ibs at around 15-18%. I did a lot of weighted calisthenics and focused primarily on the basic movements to gain mass, got great results and has been a fun journey.
Hey Alex, can you do an interview with a legit certified Arm wrestler? Would be interesting to learn about how they apply weights, how they set goals throughout the year, their training method and approach to hypertrophy or strength, and how they differ to body builders etc. Since you’ve spoken about arm wrestlers and implement some of their exercises, WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE A CROSS OVER!!! 😌
Afaik they do very specialized movements like cupping, pronation, etc. But a huge part of their training comes from table practice. All of them will probably say that nothing can replace table practice
There's tonnes of armwrestling content on UA-cam, loads of top level guys talking about their training etc. Check out Voice of Armwrestling, Devon Larratt, Matt Mask, Todd Hutchings, Michael Todd, just to name a few. There's LOADS.
Just tell me about it! Took me damn near 6 months to be able to balance a handstand atleast decently for 15-20 seconds.. Been going to the gym and progressing over a period of about 9 years, switching to pure weighted calisthenics for 1 whole year really thaught me patience and humbled me, but at the end of the year it was very rewarding❤️
Two legends, my 2 favorite fitness UA-camrs. Awesome as always Alex, loving your content recently. I'd love to see Iron Wolf or Kboges in here as they both have a lot in common with you regarding calisthenics training advice.
Hey Alex, I recently subscribed to your channel through Daniel. I can safely that this is the most educational podcast on Calisthenics have come across and wrote done notes as to what you guys were discussing as it was incredibly insightful. I am sure that the stuff that I have taken from you guys today will benefit me for years to come so thank you for that :)
HOLY SHIT IT HAPPENED YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Daniel has been commenting in your vids since 2018! I remember his comment on your first 1 arm pullup video! THE COLLAB FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!
Subscribed! I love fitnessfaq, where i live there's no gym, only a park so I've only been able to train calisthenics. I have some weights but not enough room to storage them so i use them in a backpack for weighted calisthenics. Great interview! Much love from the Maldives 🇲🇻
Amazing just amazing. So many useful information the only thing i can say is thank you i have learn so much from yours videos alex and daniele...you have helped so much in my journey and you still do.I totally trust you guys again thanks
Edit: Thanks for doing this for us Alex. You are becoming the cornerstone of what we want youtube fitness to be! Good Interview! I was surprised though that he said Dips are safer than PushUps. Maybe its just me but Dips have never felt as safe as pushups for me. Especially for us long arms small rib cage guys, the sternum pressure is real. Never have that doing push ups, weighted or not.
That's because dips simply aren't as safe as a pushup. They're open chain, as opposed to closed chain, and the potential for shoulder injury sharply rises with increased ROM, they're less stable, and there's the same load spread over a smaller area of the body. The pushup is totally opposite.
Awesome vid guys! I am starting a new training program this monday and I am very excited! i have been doing PPL for 2.5 years with SBD being the main focus. this next 16 weeks i am still doing PPL but my main lifts are going to be pullups, dips, and weighted lunges
I’ve been bulking on calisthenics for the purpose of building muscle but when cutting , it’s actually a great approach to maintain (or even build since your lighter) for strength. I should just transition to pure bodyweight
Absolutely incredible that you were able to get Daniel on here! Out of curiosity Alex, do you do planche/planche push-ups? I'd be really interested to see a video on that progression
A top 10 excercises video (calisthenic and weights) would be very interesting. Personal favorites or best 10 excersies for full body training. Appreciate your passionate work Alex!! Your content has been very inspirational 🙏 That kind of video might not be your style ;) but i just find myself struggling to choose between bench press, high rep dips, weighted dips, ring dips and all ring dip variations for example. And thats just one category I'd say... but maybe its just personal preference. Your input would be valuable though ;) ✌🏼
Great connecting brother. Hope the audience applies our principles discussed.
Absolutely brother, was an amazing discussion and I'm sure many will apply the advice 👍🏻
Loved the podcast guys, 2 of the realest guys in the game 💯
You guys are definitely the 2 best fitness youtubers, I'm super thankful for this video
