I think the man in the wheel chair wasn't actually harman, just some old dude. He appeared to be like Harman because Garcian had an internal need to take orders from someone.
Harman, from my understanding, is a god, just like Kun Lan. But here's where things get tricky. For some reason, in some way, he reincarnates while he's still alive. This leaves us with THREE Harman Smiths. The Harman who Emir killed The Harman who lead the Killer7 The Harman who you see in the Union Hotel, who's much younger.
from what i remember reading from hand in killer7 (the jaco report), Samantha was a medium used to control emir, and the old harman was just a nobody disguised.

where in the game does it say, that Emirs mother raped him and so on? Read it in a board lately too, but I don't remember it, though I just played through the game again a few months ago...
When Old Harman and Kun Lan are playing chess, Kun Lan is telling the story of what happened. Harman thinks Kun is talking about himself, but Kun states he's not, it's about someone else.
Surprised? Mouths tend to fall open upon death. The game was made too weird to follow. I didn't buy it cause it was a rail shooter. I prefer freedom of movement.
I'm pretty sure all the abuse had made Harman snap...
