It’s actually incredible because I have a 2004 Ford F-150 and the front and rear fender is pretty solid to survive a fender a bender. However I was in an accident (not as bad as the one I was in in January when my old truck was totaled) where a guy cut me off at 55mph and I swerved to try to avoid rear ending him and totaling out my truck, and I ended up going onto the center divider and hit and took out 2 street signs. The grill cover cracked apart while bumper ended up getting crushed, so while it’s sturdy to survive a fender bender it’s still able to crumple when something hits it at a high speed. Thankfully the bumper didn’t get crushed enough to bend the frame beyond repair as only the bracket bent, as well as it didn’t smash into the radiator or airbag sensor, I was able to still drive it home. The cost still totaled out the cars value mainly because of how much it would take to repair the paint. When I tried to avoid rear ending the guy, I still side swiped him and both of our cars had the paint scratched. The hood also was scratched and grill was cracked down the middle because of the signs hitting them and flying on top of the hood before sliding off the front end. We still kept it though as the truck was still drivable… we got a check back for $4500 while the cost in repairs was $5600
Anyone find it insane how Suzuki cheated on this test? That probably means they only put reinforcements on the driver side to do well in the moderate overlap crash and only cost half the price. (Meaning hit the car off center on the passenger side, and your passengers are dead.)
I got a fj cruiser and its rear window can be opened. If i keep the window unlocked and opened and someone rear ends me at 5mph, it wouldn't break right? Lol
