Davud, “kuya” is a Filipino way of a respectful way of addressing an older brother, while “ate” is for an older sister. But you can also use kuya or ate when addressing other people who you don’t know. Have a safe and pleasant exploration of our country.
I didn't expect to see you vlogging here in our country, Davud. I've been watching your vlogs in Bangladesh and I enjoyed most of it. Suggestions of places to go, if you're still in Manila, go to BGC, Ayala Avenue, McKinley Hill for the modern Manila. If you want like historic place, go to Binondo Chinatown (it is the oldest Chinatown in the world) and Intramuros. If you want like the local experience, go to Tondo, Manila. It is considered a slum area but I've seen a lot of vlogs there and they have a street food stall that you can try. For the Islands, Go to Palawan (Elnido, Port Borton, Coron and Balabac), Siargao (It is famous for its surfing spots - lot of backpackers and tourist), Boracay (though it is very commercialized islands, but it is still one of the most beautiful beaches and well developed in the Philippines. It has a great night life too - very touristy.) Bohol, Moalboal Cebu, Siquijor (probably one of the most underrated islands in the Philippines), Camiguin (same with Siquijor, but this place have a lots of volcanoes than towns.) But if you want a less touristy, not yet explored and discovered islands and beaches, there's a lot of it in the Philippines to choose from, all you have to do is research about the place. I enjoyed your blog, I spent a few months in Makati in 1980. Its good to see it today from my home, in Trinidad and Tobago. I was working for an American company and I was sent there for brief training and working. I stayed at the Manilla Mandarin hotel it was like a five star hotel. I met lots of friendly people from the Plane to the City. I visited the hot springs, and the beaches are just fantastic. I also worked close to the huge mud Volcano where Drilling for steam was in progress. Good luck on your travels.

I enjoyed your blog, I spent a few months in Makati in 1980. Its good to see it today from my home, in Trinidad and Tobago. I was working for an American company and I was sent there for brief training and working. I stayed at the Manilla Mandarin hotel it was like a five star hotel. I met lots of friendly people from the Plane to the City. I visited the hot springs, and the beaches are just fantastic. I also worked close to the huge mud Volcano where Drilling for steam was in progress. Good luck on your travels.
