Sorry about your wife. It's admirable how you're doing things at 76! It's difficult going through your loss,,, and keeping the desire to stay strong mentally, physically and emotionally.

Moderation in foods with Oxalates ( eg spinach cooked 1/2 cup 755 mg Oxalate ) ( eg Kale chopped 1 cup 2 mg ) all Beef / Chicken / Pork / Eggs / sugar free Greek Yogurt / cheese / cottage cheese/ Tuna / Salmon / Shrimp / Sardines / Bison / Elk / Venison / Honey and maple syrup in moderation . Pickles/ A treat would be a pasta or rice dish once or twice a month. I grow summer veggies spray free and try to stick to low Oxalate veggies. Basically BBQ most beef and pork everyday and when I order beef and pork from local butcher ( leave the fat on please ). Walk 6 days a week 3-5 miles and free weights 4 days a week. Every body is different and you must find what your body likes and dis likes. I'm learning at 77 yrs and realized a long time ago most of what we have been told on nutrition and medicine around this subject was high jacked along time ago. Just walk through a modern supermarket and try and find healthy food that is not processed and or not sprayed.

I am so relieved to hear you speak of a "carnivorous" way of eating!
My husband and i have been carnivor since January 1 this year. He's watched every video you've done from the beginning. When he watched this, he came and said, "Babe, listen to this! You're going to love this".
And i do love it. The benefits are amazing! He lost 23lbs first month i lost 8. I'm not good at growing food, bugs/ disease issues. But we can hunt. Immense pressure is gone for when we live in our tiny cabin we built in northern Idaho! 😊

I had high cholesterol and heart attack! After surgery they put me on statin! I found out about Red Rice Yeast along with Co-Q10 and my cholesterol and BP came down! I talked to my Cardiologist, who is from India, and she said! " I can't prescribe it or I'd loose my lisc to practice medicine! But it works and weve used it for hundreds of years in India! Just a FYI!!! This happened in 2020! I also consulted a naturopathic nutritionist and I'm in better shape than ive been in years!!! Also I now rarely get sick 😊!!

My body composition drastically improved since I'm carnivore, BTW I haven't eaten fruits for at least 15 years. I feel great and I don't take any medications.

Yes, BP will and does drop with weight loss. Most (if not all) of our health issues are caused by the bad stuff we eat and by sitting around all day. It's pretty ironic that by trying to make our lives comfortable we made our lives really uncomfortable.

We have been on Carnivore way of eating for about eight months now and our health improvement was amazing. Weight loss, lowered bp, healed digestive issues and reduced inflammation all over. We have transitioned to a more ketovore diet now by adding seasonal fruits and dairy and love our maple syrup also. Like you, we now have very few vegetables, especially those with high oxalates and phytates, which was hard for me, as I loved growing my own vegetables! 😏 We continue to have great health and feel energized. We are in our late 60’s . We call it the proper human diet…..😁

I’m really happy to hear your change in eating. i’ve done the same, kind of off and on, for the last few years and originally lost 40 pounds fairly quickly. I learned that our wheat and other crops are poisoned with glyphosate. Not to mention the harmful makeup of many vegetables. Then there’s the effect that starch vegetables on our glycemic index. So, I limit breads, pastas, cereals, starchy veggies, etc.. Trying to stay with real foods. I’ve slipped lately but getting back on the wagon.
Anyway, good on ya, as the Aussies would say.

A couple of things that I have done inside my home for stocking up and such is I bought alot of test tubes with screw on caps and I put a funnel on top of them and put a bunch of sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds in them and have an area with a whole bunch of those stocked up. I also bought an extra dresser with drawers, put that together and instead of using that for clothes I use that to store all kinds of foods that are in wrappers. Protein Bars, Candy Bars, Rice Crispees Treats, Fiber One bars, Slim Jims and Boxes of candy because I do feel like having candy from time to time isn't bad for you and actually helps. One other thing I do is I bought a bunch of plastic Tupperware or bowls with plastic lids and I stock up on different kinds of chips and I put them in those instead of keep them in bags. But that's just to cut down on noise if I munch on them at night time. I make more storage space in a smaller area by hanging shelves on doors. Something that you can't do so that's not going to help. I mounted a few baskets on the wall that I keep my loafs of bread in, onions and potatoes stored in. Because I don't have much kitchen space. It all works out quite well for space if you do that stuff to a small area though. My only regret about this place is that there really isn't enough space for all the kitchen appliances I want to keep on the counters. I'd like to have space for an indoor electric pizza oven. Again something you can't use at your Cabin. You could probably get an outdoor gas powered pizza oven. It doesn't look like you're going to make another earthen oven. I don't know. Maybe you just make your pizzas in your regular wood fired ovens now and do deep dish or something.

@bojannovkovic8818 Well, I guess it's really not a diet. I intermittently fast from dinner till around 3 pm. I have very little sugar in my diet and like Shawn learning the benefits of animal products. It's the food gap that counts and I eat quite well in the 4-6 hour period when I stop the fast. I'm 5,11 bare foot and 75 kilos. I used to be 96 kilos. I haven't been this weight since in my 20s! It just take a bit of discipline but we'll worth it. Don't trust the pharmaceutical companies and very cautious of the main stream medical fraternity. Do what you can to stay healthy and keep away from them. 👍

Take care. Cheers, Mitch

The initial weight loss is a combination of getting the bloat and fiber out of your intestinal tract as well as primarily water loss. A ketogenic metabolism is way more water efficient than a carb based diet. Anyone who like me had a soda addiction and quit sugars will tell you, you go peeps non stop for days. Also the reduction in inflammation means a loss of retained water. After 2 weeks I no longer had symptoms of arthritis that plagued me for a few years. Now at 2 months every issue I had has either gone away or gotten far better.

Sure, loosing weight obviously made me feel better, however my digestive track, energy, blood pressure, sleep significantly improved. What amazed me the most is after the first week or so, my cravings we're gone. You'll find eating this way will give you much more energy.

One that’ll be self sustaining for weeks at a time. Providing chicken and eggs and their very own leafy greens to encourage caterpillars… and herbs poking through the fence. With a separate area for favourite fruit bushes sectioned off from chickens until harvest. LED lights for the winter and surrounded by electric wires. 😃 Even raise young pheasant to let out for the winter.

Concerned about all the fructose/sucrose you are including. Would be interested in whose advice you are listening to, I always want to hear the other side!

I am the same age as you, and last year my wife was staying with the kids for 7 months so I took advantage of that time and changed my diet, I ate more red meat than usual, but smaller portions, but I also ate a lot of mixed salads consisting of mostly spinach, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, cheese, and ham, and without increasing my daily step count of around 4-5k steps a day, I lost close to 30 lbs. I did give up almost all junk food, all fried foods, and most dairy, and also cut down my caloric intake, and I actually had more energy than I did before making that change. I assume most of the weight loss was just by eating healthier and less junk, but I can't wait to see what you find out about your diet changes, I always thought all of those veggies were good for you, but I would like to know if there are certain veggies I should eat less of.

My wife was in the hospital for a year, in a coma for 8 months due to a botched surgery. She is home now and recovering slowly. During that time she was in the hospital, my daughter and I switched diets. We eat less red meats and pork. Plenty of chicken and fish, much vegetables and fruits. Honey and sugar. I went from almost 200 pounds to 164. In between the eats, exercise. And moving, rest for me is canvas painting and sleeping. I threw away all the prescriptions I had during this time and I feel excellent, as does my daughter.
My wife’s mind came back after the coma. A true miracle. And we shared what we were doing and she joined us. I feel this diet has aided to her recovery. She had to learn to walk again, and where the docs said she may never again, she is. She used a walker for a while and recently went to the cane getting stronger each day.
My point Shawn is I feel this diet we are on has aided to her recovery. Everyone is different. This diet you are on now will work for you, but not for others. It is these people who will constantly give warning about this and that. There is always an opinion. It is their opinion and it does not matter what they say as long as what you are doing, works for you. As for me, I had the same naysayers and I look at my wife and her recovery as proof, that what we have intaked, is working. Best to you Shawn.

No more high blood pressure (I had to take 3 different pills for it) no more hip arthritis (I had to take cortisone injections for it, but not anymore) my thyroid has improved so much that I am down by half the amount I used to take in my medication for it. I sleep better, my vision improved so much so that my eye doctor was shocked. I really can not say enough good things about this lifestyle... it's the best!! Shawn, trust your gut. I am 75 in December and overweight and working on the same type of products that you use. I've been off pharmaceuticals for a couple of years. I harbor high blood pressure and cholesterol also. My enemy is "good breads" Sour dough is best for you, I understand. I've started fruits and meats and love them. Mostly chicken and lean beefs. Some porks like loin cuts. I love grapes, but have to be cautious of them getting into the dog's mouth....so no dropsies! The drugs they put me on two years ago gave me a cough (blood pressure) and crippled or messed up my thigh muscles (cholesterol). I like eggs too. I also do almond milk and real butter and pure oils. I am currently working full-time for the State of NH Women's prison in administration. Learning new things every day. Remember deep breathing exercises before sleep...what a difference! Take care! I will be watching you and glad you are back!

When I moved out where I am now, about 5 years ago, my diet has consisted of meat and fat and fruit in season. Some stored veggies, mostly squash, always onions and peppers and tomatoes. I have lost 40 lbs. It was slowly at first and then......whoosh, all the fat was gone. I have since added in carbs for the winter as I ate all my stored fruit. I feel great! Had one cold and even my arthritis (or whatever it is that makes my hands tighten up sometimes) has been alleviated. It's not a diet for everyone but it's pretty good to get rid of excess weight, so you don't have to even consider not eating that occasional piece of pie or cake. Everyone would do better not to eat any processed food though. Those 'trans-fats' and seed oil feed the fat, making the fat grow! lol Your body has no idea what to do with that, so it stores it. And nobody needs that!
