There is no way to identify a pulback, however, high volumes when the price rises, and low volumes when the price falls could be a clue. As far as I'm concerned, everything is based on the risk-return ratio, so before doing the operation I have to understand if this ratio is favorable to me. there is a lot of work to do to be able to earn from the markets. Love It!! not going to lie at first I was seeing red flags in some of the things you were saying but you actually explained how to utilize the tools telling you to enter at those positions. I've traded similar positions and was wiped out multiple times from wicking, and false breaks. Thinking back, if I had taken the time to learn some of these techniques with some more patience I might have stood a chance. this is getting me pumped to try again, "DEMO ONLY" this time, lol
I defined by myself the "principle of continuity" for trading (one of my rules), is that a good pattern never pulls back more than 2 candles (3 min time frame) if they are relatively short, so if the pattern breaks that principle almost always reverse the tendency, or at least starts to break the continuity (time to take care), it works very well for me.
I’m learning a lot from you Ross- I joined a group and the teacher of this group is very generous as he is leading us in doing the trading. Now because I am a newbie- most of the time I do not understand the “term” but now - watching you explain the “pullback” makes me so happy as our tutor keeps saying that and I don’t have an earth what that is but thanks to you. Now I want to know more- but how do I set up my computer to see the 1min/5min/10sec/daily charts? And is it expensive to have those scanners? As a beginner what can you suggest I do?
Ross - this is great stuff! I don't want to day trade - I've already tried that and it was too emotional for me personally - but I am looking to trade using Daily charts, where I get into the stock and stay in for 1 to 3 days to hit my profit target. Any recommendations for me on how I could adapt your strategy by only looking at the Daily charts? I'm trying to do that now - I've setup some scans in my charting software to pull the best stocks. I think the one issue is not getting caught in a false breakout, as I wouldn't be seeing the Level 2 data and Time and Sales real time. Thanks for everything you do! Hello Ross I watched your video from starting to the end and i will apply this strategy in my trading i used to double my account a day and loose it same time due to leack of discipline and over trading bringing me to be greed and endup giving back everything to the market
The buying right before the close was the short sellers closing out their positions. I would venture a guess 90% of that volume is day trading algos that caused the drop in the first place.
