@@DisplayReality thanks a lot bro, after a lot of research on the market this monitor is the best one by FAR price to performance (where i live) and I went for it
Im on the edge between this and the aoc q27g3xmn, i have seen both get great reviews but the xiaomi has seen some issues online with qc and some firmware issues so not being able to update is scary. which would you say would be the best purchase?
I have the AOC, the truth is both suffer from the same issues, flickering with freesync active (although oleds and VAs claim to suffer more from it than IPS) and possible red tint as I read in some reviews (I noticed it on my AOC). The advantage is that the xiaomi is IPS, no black smearing and the viewing angles and color uniformity towards the edges is much better than the AOC. The AOC suffers from a horrendous viewing angles and a pinkish color shift towards edges, although you are dead center to the screen… for content creation is a big no, but I learned to live with it for now. What I have read about the xiaomi is that it does not automatically switch to the last local dimming setting that the user set when activating HDR, which the AOC does. That saves time. On QC issues both are on par: I was lucky that my AOC arrived in perfect condition. Both monitors cannot update Still, if I were you, I'd go for the Xiaomi. If you can have some patience, maybe over time the units will improve in terms of QC and firmware. In my case, I'll hold out as long as I can with my AOC and as soon as I get the chance, I'll trade it in for the Xiaomi. Cheers.
So you would ultimately choose the Xiaomi. I was reading from someone on Reddit who owned both monitors said that the AOC has a better dimming algorithm versus the Xiaomi. Can you confirm this so I at least have 2 people saying the same thing or different because I Read a Chinese review of the monitor and they said the dimming algorithm on the Xiaomi was very good so I don't get what's going on in this regard. Thanks
I currently have a VA Samsung curved monitor and on black games the smear is pretty bad on dark games which is why I was very interested in the IPS Xiaomi G Pro 27i.
@@Junior305able the AOC, having 336 zones, its algorithm is impressive, added to the 4000:1 contrast ratio of the VA panel, minimizes blooming a lot, even with the local dimming at maximum. I use local dimming only with HDR enabled in windows, as I use it exclusively for content, games and HDR editing. It doesn't make sense to use local dimming in SDR (mainly for work) no matter how good the monitor and its algorithm are. But AOC did it so well that sometimes I forget I'm in HDR because I hardly notice the blooming. As I work more than play, I prefer an IPS display for its viewing angles and uniformity of color and brightness, and no smearing of course, being aware that I will only use its local dimming for HDR content. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels. So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games, it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag I feel right.

Thank you for the review 😄 I don't know if I missed it during the video but is it possible to increase the brightness with local dimming turned on in SDR? I noticed that it dims a bit when local dimming is turned on.
Did you measure PWM? Russian reviews all say that this monitor has a high frequency flicker. Also, does your monitor apply a red tint to the image when changing color space to anything but Standard? People say it's a firmware bug... and there's no option to update the firmware yourself, since there's no USB ports.
@@incomingz44 my 1.0.07 did not have the red tint. Mine is the 27i (international) some have commented to be on 1.0.08 or 1.0.10. While I didnt test pwm I didnt notice from flicker or anything that would hinder. I also took a look vs the GN10 and KTC mini led and did not see anything out of normal.

If you plan on using HDR avoid XG27AQDMG or most of the WOLEDs due to really poor EOTF tracking for the gamma making dark scenes so dark you cant really see anything anymore. But its a fine monitor for SDR albeit slight crush in shadow details above 120hz.

After reviewing so many monitors I'd like to hear your opinion on the PG32UQX with its perfect brightness and pop and outstanding local dimming algorithm (due to G-Sync scaler) if you ever had one according to other people. Afaik it's as best as it gets for mini-LED although it's one of the first gen panels. Let's hope we'll get similiar monitors at an affordable price in the future with the same performance and size since the G-Sync module is effectively dead and will be integrated into the mediatek scalers going forward.

I bought this monitor a month ago, but it has a firmware bug. When I turn it on, it looks like it’s in blue light cut mode. To fix it, I have to switch the monitor to blue light cut mode and then back to picture mode, which temporarily resolves the issue. However, I have to do this every time I turn on the monitor. What can I do to fix this?
Thank you very much for the excellent review I am thinking of buying it, personally the game mode is not very important to me, I use it for office work, the two most important factors for me in a monitor are that the panel has a matte finish and that the minimum brightness level is as close to zero as possible (I am annoyed by monitors that even when setting the brightness and contrast to zero, the backlight is still very strong), could you give some information on these two aspects? The version you have is due to when xiaomi makes these monitors. I too got last month. Could be due to manufacturer times and regions. I think hdr is nice but like I said in my first impressions a little dim. Sdr looks nicer overall.
When the flashes were happening on marvel vs capcom. The side bars were flickering (with the middle of screen) when its supposed to be a static side bar of characters. It could be a one off issue but still you never know..
hi i just bought this monitor but I have one problem with it, it's that hdr mode lacks brightness a lot compare to sdr and I can't level up the brightness in hdr mode, any help?

Great review man🙏 just wanted to ask you if this monitor is worth upgrading to from a 27 inch 1080p 144hz ips generic monitor (asus VG279Q1A) my pc can easily drive the xiaomi btw and I mostly play games and watch movies on my pc and if you have any monitor suggestions that are close to 400-500 dollars and are not oled that you think preform better than this or on par please feel free to share thanks 😊
If you can gey the Koorhi gn10 at say 250-300 thats anoth pc monitor that is great. Mini led at 376 zones but it does everything the xiaomi can. Thats if u didnt want to spend too much. But yes its a major real hdr upgrade from the asus.
I literally just upgraded from the almost exact Asus monitor (VG279Q) and it's been a great quick and cheap upgrade so far. No regrets (as of the moment) on my end!
@@DisplayReality thanks a lot bro, after a lot of research on the market this monitor is the best one by FAR price to performance (where i live) and I went for it
@@TheZachary05 that's great to hear bro hope you enjoy it mine is coming in a few days :)
In the 4.10 minute of the video, the brightness numbers are with local dimming high, medium, low or off?
All High
Both monitors cannot update
Still, if I were you, I'd go for the Xiaomi.

My main uses for a monitor are FPS gaming, especially CS2, along with work tasks like browsing and typing. Between the KOORUI GN10 and XIAOMI G PRO 27, or any other model, which would you recommend?
The Xiaomi for the IPS panel. Just turn off the local dimming or keep it on low for minimal issue. At 180hz its fast enough
Can I rotate it?
Yes.
Thank you for the review 😄
I don't know if I missed it during the video but is it possible to increase the brightness with local dimming turned on in SDR? I noticed that it dims a bit when local dimming is turned on.
@@WhySoNoobish SDR looks great too. The gundam section shows sdr mode. It still dims a bit when lowering the Local dimming. Med seems great too.
man you are awesome, thanks
Does this support G-sync?
@@DisplayReality Thanks for the reply! And yeah, only the international version has the red tint bug, but I don't know which firmware version. Will try to look it up.
@@DisplayReality Btw, since you've mentioned GN10 and KTC mini led, do you think those VA panels have any advantages over this IPS?
What’s the best 4k monitor for ps5
Is the local dimming problem only happen on this Xiaomi monitor? What about other mini-led? I heard people said is normal for local dimming to be turn off for work but not gaming or film.
I just show what issues every every monitor has. On some it more visible while others not so much. See tomorrows sony M9 II impressions. That has very bad blooming vs this xiaomi..
@@DisplayReality does the local dimming problem also happen in another monitor with local dimming? For example the mini-led AOC?
Hey currently between this and either the LG27GS93/95QE and the XG27AQDMG. Im planning to play on XBOX and im wondering if the extra 300€ are worth it for OLED!
@@XTendingYT the DMG is best overall but I dont know why I have not seen other reviewers show this. I have tested 2 monitors and the DMG has sever flicker abl dimming on any fighting xbox game with flashes. Even with the unlocked 100 brightness under adaptive brightness it still shows from time to time. I have tested 2 different monitors. The GS does not show this. Only fix is to lower brightness to say 60-70. Then this defeats the purpose of it.
@@DisplayReality Oh, didnt know that, would you still say its better then the 27GS for the XBOX or is it kind of a dealbreaker and does it only occure in specific games?
If you plan on using HDR avoid XG27AQDMG or most of the WOLEDs due to really poor EOTF tracking for the gamma making dark scenes so dark you cant really see anything anymore. But its a fine monitor for SDR albeit slight crush in shadow details above 120hz.
Is it really THAT bad that you would say it would be better buying smth else?
And do you have any recommendations in the same price range?
@@XTendingYT Any of the 360hz qdoleds, idk what he price situation is where you live but here the msi 271QRX is regularly cheaper or the same price as the WOLEDs and is better for hdr in terms of posterization and shadow details.

I have been wanting that UQX at least to replace my Neo G8. Tho i have been waiting on price drops then get interested in new oleds at the same time. Lol maybe gen2 will be cheaper with mediatek
Try to hard reset. Disconnect all cables for 20min. Sounds like a bug
Is this monitor flicker free?
Sony Inzone M9 or this monitor?
I just got in the Sony M9 II. I would fo with tbe Sony just on quality and ports if 4k signal
Thank you very much for the excellent review
I am thinking of buying it, personally the game mode is not very important to me, I use it for office work, the two most important factors for me in a monitor are that the panel has a matte finish and that the minimum brightness level is as close to zero as possible (I am annoyed by monitors that even when setting the brightness and contrast to zero, the backlight is still very strong), could you give some information on these two aspects?
Thanks

Do you have a problem with the white screen becoming light pink?
No.. no screen having a red rint or becoming light pink. The monitor just eventually turns pink when on a white backround?
Does it have a glossy or matte coating? please mention that in future monitor reviews as well.
Its matte. All mini led have to be matte due to brightness issues. Thx for the feedback.
So hdr on xbox is not possible?
Does mini led suffer fr9m backlight bleed like normal ips panel?
Not on mine of it did i could not easily see it. If you turn off local dimming it looked even to me. No flashlighting or corner bloom. Nano IPS did have those easily not so much on the atw versions.
