Barbados is expensive yes, housing away from the beach can be more economical, so the more inland you go, land maybe more reasonable. However, the non-Barbadian would need to figure out how they want to live here as most Barbadians do not live or want to live the stylised slick photo images used to promote the island. Like you would've in Canada, we shop around, we go to market on Friday and Saturday for vegetables, and some of us buy meat and fish directly from farmers and fish processors. Dollar stretching is a worldwide counter against inflation.
All over the world things are going to get more expensive time is changing as the years move forward, people better wake up and start thinking about what the future is going be like, Barbados is not the only country where things are very expensive as you travel the world 🌎 you will see.just enjoy your vacation to the fullest love and blessings to both of you 💜💙💜💙👍

Good morning Thank you for your Positive Feedback on Barbados 🇧🇧 yes the cost of living is high but Barbados is not the only place Hello your Voice is sexy and you are Absolutely Handsome I could listen to you talking all day but back to my Beautiful Island Barbados 🇧🇧 it is the best island in the Hemisphere ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
There are too many imported items in Barbados. Hence, groceries tend to be high. I don't find housing and utilities to be very expensive, so it may be a bit general to say that the cost of living is high. Some things are, and some are not. Next time, try shopping at Popular Supermarket. That's where many Bajans go. But go early because the lines can be very long.
@capstone1073 if the island didn't import foodstuff, what would the people eat? This is a very simplistic explanation...on 166+Sq. Miles how will you balance land for housing and crop or animal husbandry?
Boss man coming from a bajan you have to shop around. Jordan's is on the kinda expensive side and shops outside of the main town Bridgetown are expensive
Shop around where? You got Emerald other than that shop around where? Yes it may be cheaper buying fresh fruit.and veg from the street venders but other than that!
@@debajan358 well it seems like it has to do with how deep ur pocket is... just the other day someone told me that Jordans was the cheapest one. Some ppl would say popular, but i find they too are getting very expensive. Personally I would recommend Savings Plus or tri mart. Unfortunately, a trimart in worthing, was recently (forced) bought out to build hotel.
He is a tourist there, not looking for other stores. A bajan knows where to shop for better prices, but since he is there for a short period, Jordan's is fine. Every country has aggressive people including barb so don't knock jam.
JamCan, I was amazed that you never mentioned anything about the earning potential of the average worker in Barbados. Since I am a kid, I have always known Barbados to be about $2-$1 pegged to USD. it’s a triumph that they have maintained this exchange rate for decades. Educating us on the earnings of the entry level, middle, and top tier worker would have been more edifying to juxtapose with the prices you showed. A Bajan person mentioned that the supermarket you visited is a bit pricey, and that they are more affordable options. Great video with interactions. 💪🏽
@@Delitewon You're right, but I don't believe it would be practical to show income stratification. I don't want to ruffle any feathers, because I'm just a guest

A question such as…What is the minimum, medium, and upper scale salaries in Barbados? For me, just saying it’s expensive in Barbados without having knowledge of what the inhabitants earn doesn’t really paint a complete picture. Just for your consideration. 💪🏽
I am Bajan. I am not going to try to add our subtract from your observation. I prefer your audiences to get your unfiltered perspective of my home country. I would just say after over 40 years of living in the U.S, Barbados is better living. U.S is like sell your soul. Barbados nourishes your soul. So you see, it may sound like a contradiction, but there are two different values at play and we have to choose. I have sold a lot of my time to the U.S system, but I hope to live out my latter days in tranquility. We you leave Barbados you will miss Barbados, and you will not be sure: why?

Very true, you have to go local to get the deals
Barbados has some of the best drinking water straight from the tap. There's really no need to buy bottled water.
@@capstone1073 Oh yes I drank theater tap water
It depends on which part of the island you live... but for the most part, that's right 👍🏽.
How's the water today in St Lucy?
@Coco-uk9tv very nice, do you mean tap or sea water?
