Okay I’m choked that Ireland is only 2nd. How can you do better in Eurovision than Ireland in the 90’s?
Blame The Mullans!
Italy benefitted from just competing 5 times in this period, and not risking getting a lower score. I think that in rankings like this, not competing at all should come with some deduction of the scores, but that just me.
@@Asa...S If one of Italy's entries got one placement lower, or Ireland's entries got two placements higher Ireland would've got first place ranking.
@@Asa...S it should've been "average ranking rate: result : participants" and then sum the results obtained
@@Asa...S To be fair, it is really really close between Ireland and Italy, and Ireland competed in twice as many contests as Italy, so lets be honest Italy don't completely deserve it. I mean, even if they had had really good years in the years that they weren't there, you can't beat Ireland from the 90s, no-one can and no-one will (because of the systems in place now)
Ireland really deserves 1st place. They ruled Eurovision in the 90s. Italy only wins by default by not participating in so many
Me: 90x is not interesting... Ireland will wi-...
Italy: INSIEME
Me: wut
Ireland will be first
Italy: hold my Insieme
I'm sorry, but the fact that Italy, with only 5 entries, is ahead of Ireland, with 10 entries and 4 wins, and 2 2nd spots. It means that there's something wrong with the ranking here.
there’s nothing wrong with the ranking here, it is just that it uses a system of averages. Ireland participated in twice as many contests as Italy, allowing them to notch up poor finishes in 1995 and 1999. Meanwhile Italy were consistently good when they did participate (the lowest they finished is 12th, as opposed to Ireland’s much poorer finishes in the aforementioned years).
Actually, this ranking counts the average position based on how my times the country has partecipated and the position. Having participated more just means such countries had more chances to raise their score.
Love all these different languages ❤.
My country Estonia did really well in 90s after the hesitant debut and our success continued in very early 00s. It seemed so normal back then to do good at Eurovision, if you just decide to participate 😂. Times have changed...
Ivo linna and Marja Liis had a great song in 1996 I’m Irish and I think it should have won to be honest
It is sad to see how Luxembourg fizzled out in the 90s. They were the mighty David (vs Goliath) of the preceding decades.
Im so proud that Iceland was in 10th and ahead of all the nordic countries except Sweden. The 1990s were defenitely our best decade
This decade for u has got off the a good start tho
@@coolfool_roblox1460 yeah true. I hope that it will continue in the next years and hopefully we will finally win someday
Aud Wilken❤️
I adore her album "Dimond in the rough"! And her song at Dansk MGP 2007 is so cool!
1 billion points from Russia!
So many songs I love in this video ! And France made it to the top 10 seven times !

Tie breaks are solved when a country has a lower best score than the other
This is gold and I just LOVE that top 2 twist! The only thing I would've edited differently was featuring 1994 rather than 1999 as the Germany entry in this since 1994 had 25 competing countries compared to 1999 which had only 23.
I think it's based on points, so in this case 1999 would be correct.
I'm actually happy that Italy is 1st.
Italy had my winner for three years in the 1990s (1990, 1992, and 1997 w/Turkey), including my all-time favorite entry!
I think it's explainable because they were only outside the top ten once, along with participating in half the contests.
Me who is Irish *extreme disappointment*
Kým Nás Maš is an incredibly underrated masterpiece!
Ireland: huh, I am gonna ween
Italy: *INSIEMEEEEEE 1992*
Macedonia in 1998 was not called "North", but 2 decades later!
And suggest, if some country had not participated, put number 12 in calculations (in that case Italy would be on 4-th place).
Poland should have been so much higher this decade.
i think you made a video on all esc participating countries but where is spain? T_T my favorite
He did make a video of Spain’s entries, but it was removed for some reason. I’m waiting for him to reupload it too.
I really hate the then arrangement of disqualifying one country from competing in the year following a poor finish. You see so many entry gaps and that was the reason.
YES!
How does Ireland not win this?
Ok ireland actually won bc the only reason Italy won is because they didn't do much plz it's getting a bit annoying how when they dont compete it's like they win pl change it if u can thx
Yes, lets not compete again, because by doing that we will be winning forever, lol.
Italy only participate for half the decade so had less chance for a song to bomb. I'm calling it Ireland with that in account :P
Kinek mondjam el vètkeimet ❤️
The first place is gonna be no surprise this time 😂 🇮🇪
You'll be surprised then
Yes, I didn't expect this :O
Yeah!
Everyone: Cyprus must win
Italy: 1992
In 1990 I saw a eurovision for the first time.
I was born in 1986, 4 years old I saw for the first time.
My personal winners of the 1990s:
1990. Spain 🇪🇸

1993. Greece 🇬🇷
1994. Germany 🇩🇪
1995. Greece 🇬🇷
1996. Irlande 🇮🇪
1997. Turkey 🇹🇷
1998. Romania 🇷🇴
1999. Croatia 🇭🇷

Love 💗 Greece 🇬🇷 from Lebanon 🇱🇧!!!!
🇱🇧 💝 🇬🇷 !
I love your four Greek winners, and we share the same one in 1995! (Olou tou Kosmos i Elpida and Ellada, Hora Tou Fotos were my runners-up their years)
My top threes for the decade:
1990: Italy, Belgium, France/Yugoslavia (my third place depends on the day)
1991: France, Sweden, Israel (the best top three ever, in my opinion)
1992: Italy, Greece, Cyprus
1993: Netherlands, Greece, Norway
1994: Hungary, Cyprus, Russia
1995: Greece, Norway, Cyprus
1996: Ireland, Sweden, Turkey (though my winner could be interchangeable)
1997: Italy, Turkey, United Kingdom (Italy and Turkey are my co-winners, but I favor Italy for the moment)
1998: United Kingdom, Netherlands, Croatia
1999: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Croatia
When the UK is 3rd and Ireland 2nd
We won the decade that we didn't deserve at all
Monaco and Morrocco didn't practipate in 1990s
@Mario Iglesias yes, but Im telling it randomly...
Is there a more recent top? Let's say that 1990-1999 is a short life ago and is not that relevant for the actual music international scene. Many of the lowest ranking countries placed way better in the recent years and viceversa.
23, 18, 12, 8, 6, 4, 3, 1.-
I wouldn’t say that’s fair for Italy... in my opinion, Ireland is the most successful country of the 90s.
Math is not an opinion
@@TechnoGuys99 But here Italy didn't participate in half the decade, so had less chances to have a bad song that dragged them down. That's why this isn't a balanced result.
Вот это поворот! :Р
It’s the Germany 2008 at the beginning for me
Make a video in 2000
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🤜❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️FORZA ITALIA
sweden is always top 10 in everything. both every year in eurovision but also every decade of average placement
did you not see that they came 22nd in 1992
@@Quietstream_productions I meant lately
cant wait for 00s top 5 beinge russia greece turkey ukraine and serbia
Not possible, if IRELAND has 4 wins and 2 second places.....what did Italy do that got 1st. 🤔
Romania: 0:43
I'm in Israel Thank you for your rating of Israel
It's not a personal ranking lol
The Netherlands should have finished *much* higher in 1994 imo. Just sayin’.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Yes.
Given that Italy only had half the entries, Ireland still comes out on top in my opinion.
Ireland is going to win this!
Oh - that is a shock!
