Uhhh, Update, I Got this Figure, and I Think I Found Out what the Alt Mode Is, This Makes No Sense as a Spaceship, It's Goofy and Dumb... But Imagine it as a Tumbler (Like From Batman), Just a Armored Vehicle Driving Through the Streets Ramming Things
I have come to realize that there is a section of the head that has an indent where blue paint was missed, don't know how much it would have changed but it might have made him look like angry soundwave more than sadwave
3:43 Is that paint or just grey plastic? It’s obvious from the cuts that it’s a separate piece of plastics that had to be connected to the head. If it’s actual plastic, Hasbro probably did it to cheap on anymore blue plastic. If not, then probably added in a light-pipping piece that they ended up painting.
I think it might be at the clear plastic from the chest, but I don't know why they would do that, why would they cast light piping me in the incorrect color. I suppose it would make it clear why they painted over it, but why would they do that in the first place.
I still want this tho, yeah transformation sucks, but look at the robot mode, it looks so good and poses good, but at the same time, its a transformers figure and it needs to at least have a decent alt mode. Which he does not have.
Things this altmode looks more like than a space ship. Brick, taser, beetle, soundwave brand pancake, pile of trash, an object in one of those name a single thing in this picture images, a novelty candy box, soundwave after being put into a trash compactor, somebody drawing soundwave based on a drunk dogs description, a child folding up their toy so they can pretend its a spaceship, a soundwave water bed, a limited edition transformer xbox 360, one of those shields from cod that have the window in them, a futuristic shock grade, batterey, a door stop, an alien mp4 player, emp device, walky talky, a sponge dipped in blue paint, tracking device, something I would eat, a backpack, digital thermostat, an object you see in your dream that you recognize but as soon as you wake up you have absolutley no idea what it is, the tardis, thr physical manifestation of one of those "what english sounds like to non english speakers, steve from minecraft, a floating platform in smash bros, an ai taking evry image of soundwave and making a new one, primus's first attempt at making a cybertronian, alarm clock, the feet of a bug based combiner, the texture files of soundwave accidentally being put on a piece of bread, a creature from a cybertronian version of all tommorows, my sleep paralysis demon, a censored version of nsfw sonic fan art, smurf modern art, the cursed item in a goosebumps book, mr incredibles car phone, a drawfee episode where they give the name of a character and the hint(he turns into a rectangular object), an eldritch horror that makes you go insane just by looking at it, that episode of phineas and ferb where they make a toy which is just a brick, and a roarshack test
Great review! A flying cassette player makes more aesthetic sense than whatever that alt-mode is. Perhaps Siege's space barge is better. Hurrah for money saved!
I didn't mind the alt mode as much until it got turned over and we just saw Soundwave essentially folded up like Earthrise Arcee, although ERcee at least has a shell that forms a cohesive, coherent vehicle
I'm glad that the robot mode is what they prioritized. The alt mode is weird, but I think people would be mad if they made a non-transforming one. And the alt mode doesn't seem to affect the robot mode too much. So I'm looking forward to this figure.
I was a Transformers kid, and they were the only toys I kept into adulthood. This exact Soundwave, which I saw randomly at a Target, rekindled my love for Transformers and was the catalyst to a new collection. The robot mode is so damn good that the alt mode becomes passable. I also picked up Ravage, which surprisingly fits inside his chest. Clearly they were trying to figure out an alt mode after modeling the robot mode to match what was in the movie. They landed on some sort of hover tank / flying tank with mandibles, and I don’t mind it nearly as much as many others.
I think alt mode doesn’t look as bad some make it up to be, in its shape and size looks like some kind of stealth craft , which would suit Soundwave’s character But yeah I only buy this toy just for the robot mode, it’s literally spot on of how appears in the Bumblebee movie
@@PerspectiveEnd I actually don't care if it is an actual vehicle since who is entering and exiting them on Cybertron except for maybe smaller cybertronians? But it should be recognizable as something other than a contortionist robot.
While i would say that he didn't have a transformation in the movie so it kinda has a reason not only to do something they wanted and make it as accurate to the movie robot wise but it doesn't do that its a weird brick and literally all the autobots have transformations that are not only decent but it works for their respective characters even arcee idk why they didn't care for this figure
3:57 Actually, there is a short comic-though probably not canon since it details closer to events of TF 1, and Bumblebbe was said to be a reboot by Hasbro-where we do see Rumble and Laserbeak. Though Rumble with his pile drivers. Also in that comic, they wrote Soundwave with dialogue parts befitting of a sergeant or a cowboy, cause there are parts where he calls Bumblebbe “kid” or “son”.
@@PerspectiveEnd It’s called Sector 7 Adventures: Battle at Half Dome. You mainly got it by purchasing the Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD combo pack of Bumblebee. Also, by using the code for that combo pack on Vudu, you would get an extra that showed the comic on screen with voice-overs. However, for some reason they ended up using a voice very similar to General Mayhem from the LEGO Movie 2 as the dub for Soundwave, which was off putting. Also, the reason why I say the comic might be non-canon is because it ended with an image of the Bayverse first movie Megatron frozen in ice at Sector 7.
Starting the year off right lol. I’m not very excited about the legacy line either. But this is the life of a transformers fan. At least I can enjoy your dissection of all these wonderful figures lol
I saw a version of this alt mode where you flip the chest in alt mode to make it a hover tank instead of green goblins glider. It looked decent and definitely an improvement over the official design. I’m probably gonna pick him up solely for the bot mode
I've been hearing so many people getting these from their local Walmart, and only Walmart. I've seen videos and photos of stolen ones too but I've been lurking around my local Walmart for ages now, and I'm very jealous that you have one, despite not liking it very much I've seen fan modes for a lamp mode like from G1, which is what this alt mode should've been, not a space roomba
I like both of the Bayverse soundwave (but the head could have been the ROTF head) and the bumblebee movie design. And I dont see any problem with the head though, and I still want this figure and the alt mode is just the green goblin flyer (which is hilarious)
I'll say what I've been saying about this figure. It's a better action figure than a transformer. But I'd be lying if that transformation from alt mode to robot mode wasn't one of the most satisfying I've done
@@PerspectiveEnd just all of the panels folding into place, the back of the thighs, the shoulders, the back plate and how it flips, it's all so satisfying to me as it all turns into this great looking robot
And it seems like it was the opposite for you, but once I had it in hand the alt mode kinda grew on me a bit. It sucks, but it sucks in a charming sort of way to me.
Note: The consensus of the alt mode being based off that weird form from the GIJoe comics is false. Not true, just a very strong coincidence. There was concept art that they showed off, which was way more of a detailed vehicle mode which yes, still didn't look like anything. But still
Well I'm not throwing it away. This was given to me why someone else. You'd be rather rude for me to throw it away. Which Soundwave figure was the first figure you ever got?
How to fix alt mode: make giant carb legs that tab on. Then make giant claws. Now add some eyes and mandibles. Now you have a perfect blue crab. So now give it a lobster tail.
If I bought this guy and I doubt I will...like what is his alt mode? I prefer the siege and wfc generations 2010 Soundwave's alt modes, why didn't they look at those for inspiration for the alt mode?
At least this guy has something interesting you can actually talk about, unlike the other cybertron mode soundwave studio series has, which is the most medicore lump of dull grey I’ve ever handled
I agree, the alt mode is lame but the robot mode is extremely appealing visually and that is it. I would only obtain one if I won it in a giveaway. Keep up with the content and shout outs!
Going to use this one as a futuristic leader of the Decepticons IDW-style Soundwave. Not because of the alien-looking alt-mode, but because of the improved G1 look.
@@PerspectiveEnd IDW Soundwave had those red exhausts around his head, like a Seeker, and changed into a van (I think?), but what I’m saying is that I will use this figure to fill that role because I think it’s perfect
It hurts my soul hearing that despite this figure having such a non-alt mode, it still has quality control issues with its transformation. Like seriously, having tabs that don't work and needing to stretch the plastic to get this into its space nothing mode is inexcusable for how little this figure needs to do. At least the robot mode looks quite nice.
I don't know of twos a quality control problem, I think it's just that they didn't think this through problem. They gave it a bunch of weak friction tabs and then just called it a day.
I mean that's all I'm really asking, just for them to give a little effort in this rather than none at all. It doesn't have to be a tape player, it just has to turn into something, anything.
Personally, I like to fan mode the "vehicle mode" it by keeping the back panel on the side with the peg holes, and then peg the shoulder cannon into it and pretend its some kind of hover tank like War/Fall of Cybertron Megatron. I still like this figure and don't regret getting him or Ravage.

At least you got the awesome little core class figure.
It still captures soundwaves essence
A bit at least.
“It make him look bald” because we all every single soundwave has hair and a stylish bowlcut
Why would you assume that Soundwave has a bowlcut?
@@PerspectiveEnd idk
Once again.. The Kingdom LEGEND class Soundwave is the best Soundwave figure in 2020s decade.
You say this when second year of that decade ended. We'll see in 2030.
Man it would be hillarious if that thing held that title for the rest of the decade.
@@PerspectiveEnd I know right
I like to think that soundwaves alt mode is just the green goblins glider. I know it doesn’t look like it at all that much, but it just gives off that feeling
Lot of people really seem to love that meme, for me it doesn't give off the feeling at all so I can't get on board.
Is it possible that your ravage is facing the wrong direction? I just found out that my ravage can only fit in with the missiles facing the right side and the head towards the shoulder Cannon. The other way you're not able to shut it with the back being closed as well
I have tried it in bot directions and found neither work.
Thanks for the shout out!!! Love the show.
You are more than welcome.
It’s funny how until the leaked listings, none of knew that Rumble was even considered to be in the Bumblebee movie
Yeah that is real strange, how did no one ever mention this before.
Thanks for saving my wallet, perspective. Nearly got one of these at My local Walmart but I was put off by the launch pad/lego vehicle summoning platform-thing. I got a Not Rod instead
What is a not rod? And glad to hear that Ill be saving you the money.
@@PerspectiveEnd studio hot rod. I take pleasure in making fun of the lad
Soundwave isn't a space nothing, grab a burger bun and put Soundwave in the middle, now you have his true alt mode, a hamburger🍔
So he's just the patty then?
Many soundwaves i have in my collection don't have a problem with the cassette button as in the ss one , Ravage can't fit in it
Ravage can't or he can?
Thank you so much for the shout out
You are more than welcome.
Update: we moved most of our stuff (me and my moms) to my grandmas (we are moving closer to her) and along the way i stopped at a walmart, they had this figure, amazon had him out of stock but i ssid f*ckkkk it and got him, tranformation to alt mode is fun, a bit challenging, alt mode can be used as a shield or a tank (fan moded a bit, and robot mode is amazing,
Glad you are liking it, and that's actually a hilarious idea I hadn't considered, do to him, what he did to his pets in Siege, use him as the shield this time.
You put Kup on the alt mode, you get Green Goblin and his glider.
Except the green goblin the glider had rockets. This has no method of propulsion.
@@PerspectiveEnd That would change the movies.
Got Studio Series Bumblebee movie Soundwave a few days ago. On the hunt for core class Ravage.
And how are you liking that figure?
Soundwave is still in box. But I can still hear him say "Decepticons, attack!"
Thank you for doing that resolution like that
Resolution? I'm not sure what you mean?

“The paint is immaculate!” There is a bad paint mishap in the upper right corner.
LOL, I noticed it too.
@@Storm-fl3mp honestly I’m kinda surprised that there wasn’t a thicc joke in there lol.
Honestly that's hard to notice with the naked eye, on camera it looks way worse sense you know it's like blown up 20 times larger than normal.
2:25,u know when I first saw Soundwave head in the trailer I thought it reminded me of Bayverse Blackout cosplaying as Soundwave because of the split on the faceplate like Blackout
Interesting, what part of this reminds you of Blackout?

While the robot mode is good, the rest of it not so much.
I don't know if I'm going to get this figure or not I'll wait for the ravage to see. Also thx for the shout out ik my channel is a cluster fuck it will probably become even more so because one of my friends wants me to do toy reviews (I'm such a push over)
You are more than welcome, and don't worry no need to apologize, my channel is something of a cluster as well, it's just that I managed to do a lot of reviews so it seems like it's all one thing.
anyone else think they just looked at Bumblebee Movie Optimus' head and thought "What if we used that for soundwave?"
... Nnoooo? This head looks nothing like the Optimus head. It's too round.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'm Talking about the sides of the head, and Sides of the Faceplate
This guy alt mode looks like a rejected piece of concept art for a wraith in a halo game
Nah rejected concept art look like more of the thing than this.
Honestly giving him the g1 pilot space lamppost mode was probably a better idea
100% Agreed.
I have come to realize that there is a section of the head that has an indent where blue paint was missed, don't know how much it would have changed but it might have made him look like angry soundwave more than sadwave
Not sure where you are talking about.
@@PerspectiveEnd theres a flat section in the center at the top of the visor
3:43 Is that paint or just grey plastic? It’s obvious from the cuts that it’s a separate piece of plastics that had to be connected to the head. If it’s actual plastic, Hasbro probably did it to cheap on anymore blue plastic. If not, then probably added in a light-pipping piece that they ended up painting.
I think it might be at the clear plastic from the chest, but I don't know why they would do that, why would they cast light piping me in the incorrect color.
I suppose it would make it clear why they painted over it, but why would they do that in the first place.
@@PerspectiveEnd Like I said, it could have been their way of cheaping out more on the figure.
I still want this tho, yeah transformation sucks, but look at the robot mode, it looks so good and poses good, but at the same time, its a transformers figure and it needs to at least have a decent alt mode. Which he does not have.
Yet the robot modes good, and if you really wanted it for that then that's the reason to get it, but there isn't much reason beyond that.
At first I was going to stop because I got the joke, but it was so entertaining I read the whole thing.
Honestly this is my favorite Soundwave figure ever released
Really? And why is that?
Well I probably will never transform this if I get it anyway
That's the only way you enjoyed this thing.
Great review! A flying cassette player makes more aesthetic sense than whatever that alt-mode is. Perhaps Siege's space barge is better. Hurrah for money saved!
I'd almost want to say that that's all you can think this is looking at it, but it doesn't even hit that low muster.
I didn't mind the alt mode as much until it got turned over and we just saw Soundwave essentially folded up like Earthrise Arcee, although ERcee at least has a shell that forms a cohesive, coherent vehicle
Yeah it's just the figure lying on its face, with its feet bent up to its hands.
Gotta get my daughter this figure as its Soundwave. She just keeps them in their boxes and puts with her other soundwaves.
At least as long as she's not forced to handle this it's OK.
Is Soundwave the only character she does that with?
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, she has generation, prime, g1 reissue, siege, Funko pop regular size and jumbo and some random nontransrming ones
hey aside from the Bumblebee version of Ravage, are there any other casset character models that fit inside his chest deck?
I mean you might be able to kind of force the tape guys to fit, but nothing that was designed for this guy.
I'm glad that the robot mode is what they prioritized. The alt mode is weird, but I think people would be mad if they made a non-transforming one. And the alt mode doesn't seem to affect the robot mode too much. So I'm looking forward to this figure.
It makes sense, but if the transformation and altmode are bad and then to me a 2/3 point of the figure is missing.
The vehicle mode makes soundwave look like someone sat on him.
Yet he's absolutely been crushed flat
I was a Transformers kid, and they were the only toys I kept into adulthood. This exact Soundwave, which I saw randomly at a Target, rekindled my love for Transformers and was the catalyst to a new collection. The robot mode is so damn good that the alt mode becomes passable. I also picked up Ravage, which surprisingly fits inside his chest. Clearly they were trying to figure out an alt mode after modeling the robot mode to match what was in the movie. They landed on some sort of hover tank / flying tank with mandibles, and I don’t mind it nearly as much as many others.
My brain likes to pretend the alt mode is a flattend cassette player
I think alt mode doesn’t look as bad some make it up to be, in its shape and size looks like some kind of stealth craft , which would suit Soundwave’s character
But yeah I only buy this toy just for the robot mode, it’s literally spot on of how appears in the Bumblebee movie
I just can't see this as any kind of vehicle. There are no entrance is there is no propulsion, there's just nothing.
It's the Green Goblins glider.
@@PerspectiveEnd I actually don't care if it is an actual vehicle since who is entering and exiting them on Cybertron except for maybe smaller cybertronians? But it should be recognizable as something other than a contortionist robot.
Soundwave really couldn’t be a car? Or a plane.
OR A LIGHT POST OR WHATEVER THAT G1 WAS.
Nah let’s just make a bug like crap
Isn't that the saddest thing, it could've been anything and they made it nothing.
If they want to make this a red figure than they could've made in a red figure.
If they did it would be the best thing in that line.
Due to ad placement
"Who looked at this and said... Redbull gives you wings?"
I don't know how many people got Redbull ads.
Cool figure to start off the year with
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@@PerspectiveEnd thanks
3:57 Actually, there is a short comic-though probably not canon since it details closer to events of TF 1, and Bumblebbe was said to be a reboot by Hasbro-where we do see Rumble and Laserbeak. Though Rumble with his pile drivers.
Also in that comic, they wrote Soundwave with dialogue parts befitting of a sergeant or a cowboy, cause there are parts where he calls Bumblebbe “kid” or “son”.
Interesting I'd love to see this comic.
@@PerspectiveEnd and also Rufus appears and yeets rumbles to a mountain
I have hope for legacy, but there is a chance it will fall short.
2:58 he didnt do it in the movie, ravage just ejected from his chest
Yeah I remember that, but that doesn't change the fact that he should still be able to do the classic Soundwave pose. Even if it wasn't in the movie.
I saw a version of this alt mode where you flip the chest in alt mode to make it a hover tank instead of green goblins glider. It looked decent and definitely an improvement over the official design. I’m probably gonna pick him up solely for the bot mode
I think I saw someone post about that. Yeah it looks better.
I've been hearing so many people getting these from their local Walmart, and only Walmart.
I've seen videos and photos of stolen ones too
but I've been lurking around my local Walmart for ages now, and I'm very jealous that you have one, despite not liking it very much
I've seen fan modes for a lamp mode like from G1, which is what this alt mode should've been, not a space roomba
I absolutely 100% agree. Where is our day am a telephone pole mode Hasbro!
I like both of the Bayverse soundwave (but the head could have been the ROTF head) and the bumblebee movie design. And I dont see any problem with the head though, and I still want this figure and the alt mode is just the green goblin flyer (which is hilarious)
I would not want the RotF head personally.
@@PerspectiveEnd makes sense, but it is better than the DOTM head
I'll say what I've been saying about this figure. It's a better action figure than a transformer. But I'd be lying if that transformation from alt mode to robot mode wasn't one of the most satisfying I've done
I mean yet to the first part, but what about that transformation made you enjoy it?
@@PerspectiveEnd just all of the panels folding into place, the back of the thighs, the shoulders, the back plate and how it flips, it's all so satisfying to me as it all turns into this great looking robot
And it seems like it was the opposite for you, but once I had it in hand the alt mode kinda grew on me a bit. It sucks, but it sucks in a charming sort of way to me.
This is on the same level as ER arcee, a good red figure
Kinda yeah. Unfortunately.
At least it'll never be the bottom of what's the best soundwave, ER arcee takes honorary last
Soundwave's just depressed that the other cassettes didn't make it to the movie
Is that what caused him to go bald?
As an old fan of yours can you please bring back what's the best, probably the best types of videos you've made
Believe me, at no point did I intend to stop, it's just been a hectic couple months.
Get two of them, put some cassettes in the middle and you have a Soundwave Sandwich.
That's the only value this could possibly have.
Note: The consensus of the alt mode being based off that weird form from the GIJoe comics is false. Not true, just a very strong coincidence. There was concept art that they showed off, which was way more of a detailed vehicle mode which yes, still didn't look like anything. But still
Interesting, I had not heard that yet.
IF YOUR THROWING IT AWAY, GIVE IT TO ME. Soundwave was literally the first figure I ever had and I think that a legacy photo would be awesome.
Well I'm not throwing it away. This was given to me why someone else. You'd be rather rude for me to throw it away.
Which Soundwave figure was the first figure you ever got?
I personally edited the head ever so slightly by using a marker to color in the middle section of his visor to make him look at bit more agressive
Yeah that would definitely help with this.
@@PerspectiveEnd this might just be my opinion, but I think soundwave is one of the few transformers that should have lightpiping.
How to fix alt mode: make giant carb legs that tab on. Then make giant claws. Now add some eyes and mandibles. Now you have a perfect blue crab. So now give it a lobster tail.
This thing looks more like a crab than it does anything else.
bro I have had this sense the 1st and did not notice the blue stripe till now
It's amazing just how good it is at slipping past your senses.
If I bought this guy and I doubt I will...like what is his alt mode? I prefer the siege and wfc generations 2010 Soundwave's alt modes, why didn't they look at those for inspiration for the alt mode?
Yeah I have no idea out what his all mode is supposed to be it's just a thing. An object. A shape.
I love ur vids ur the best
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoy them.
At least this guy has something interesting you can actually talk about, unlike the other cybertron mode soundwave studio series has, which is the most medicore lump of dull grey I’ve ever handled
You talking about the Satellite version.
@@PerspectiveEnd mhm
I have this figure and the robot mode is really awesome but the alt mode makes me want to commit war crimes
The altmode is just so unbearably bad.
A lot of people think I'm exaggerating how bad it is.
My main problem with this figure is that it can’t bend its elbow to press the button like the Siege/Netflix one can
I know rights, that's a blunder on any figure that can't do it.
I agree, the alt mode is lame but the robot mode is extremely appealing visually and that is it. I would only obtain one if I won it in a giveaway. Keep up with the content and shout outs!
Thank you very much.
And yeah the robot mode is pretty good even if the altmode is wretched.
I'm getting this guy but I'm not gonna even touch the transformation. not even gonna think about the transformation
That's pretty much the only way to enjoy this.
Going to use this one as a futuristic leader of the Decepticons IDW-style Soundwave. Not because of the alien-looking alt-mode, but because of the improved G1 look.
I feel like IDW Soundwave looked a lot different than this.
I think I am cursed to never understand the Tarantino feet jokes
Tarantino has a Foot Fattish. That's it. Like literally he has one, so people joke about it since he crowbars it into his movies.
Honestly if they give the alt mode more effort and details i can see it as a futuristic hover car like what the concept art told us it will be
I mean that's all I'm really asking, just for them to give a little effort in this rather than none at all.
Glad you've been able to find more use for it than I have been able. I do regret it my self.
6:02 okay what in the world is that is that like a sandwich? Is it supposed to be a spaceship I’m so confused maybe soundwave transforms into a brick for the desepticon wall
Or it's supposed to be Luke Skywalkers Binoculars. Either way it's dumb.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh yeah it does look that that too
Hope the first review of next year is about a bad figure, first Netflix ER, then this, then whatever the first review of next year.
That's an idea I feel like I should try to do that.
I respect soundwaves design in the bumblebee movie that movie had alot of mostly good designs (MOSTLY)
I can think of any designs in it did badly, what do you think if they did a subpar?
