Not to defend this situation because I too hate it but the last order I made post-Crunchyroll transition actually turned out better than I originally feared. The past few months I ordered in-stock anime from Right Stuf had been slow which was unusual but also frustrating because they usually charge when everything's in stock and ready to ship. Apparently the reason for this is because they were moving warehouses which AFAIK, they have more than one which includes one in California (Crunchyroll's base) and one in Texas (the former Funimation Shop warehouse which I've heard also has terrible shipping) and while I don't know if either of them closed, I know the former Right Stuf warehouse is still open because that's where my last two orders came from both pre and post transition, under the Crunchyroll name and packaged the same as when they were Right Stuf and the last one got here as fast as they used to be. I'll give them time but if it starts getting bad from here on out then I'll probably limit my buys there to certain Aniplex sets (can't buy those anywhere else) and as backup in case Amazon is out of something I want (this used to be the other way around).
Oh that’s great to hear! I’ll be ordering sometime soon (Aniplex titles and hopefully some more good deals I find) and look forward to seeing how everything arrives. ^_^
As a Right Stuf customer for YEARS, I liked that they had "reviews" on all the items, and I enjoyed leaving them. My first CR order came yesterday, and it did admittedly arrive well packaged. Fingers crossed going forward!
Have a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. I told you about my issues with RightStuf before, so I’m fine with it. But I understand how it can be upsetting for others. I’m still bitter with how they wronged me.
I’ve been a customer for YEARS and never had an issue (except the one time they cancelled my order because I didn’t see their email about my payment not going through) so I’m still a little disappointed but who knows what the future holds in store for us anime/manga collectors! Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
What i really hate most about this CR monopoly is how they are significantly cutting back on their blu ray releases for seasonal titles. Only the most popular seem to be getting physical releases and they are letting a ton of their catalog titles go oop and only reissuing top sellers under the CR brand.
I’ve noticed that too! Lots of titles they have on sale are older titles, not even new ones. A lot of titles I’ve enjoyed don’t have any physical release yet.
Hi. I was wondering if you've kept ordering from the Crunchyroll store ? If that's so, any inconvenience with it? How's everything gone so far? I'm keen interested in a few mangas here and there, but it seems to be a little complicated trying to get other users reviews. Thanks in advance!
I am sad rightstuff is gone. It was cheap and they always let me know what was going on. CR is money hungry. I ordered once and the experience was horrible. So I will not be buying from crunchy roll. They can shove it. I'll be on the hunt for a new store to buy
