I've said it before, but I feel that the Future Friends EP was one long coda on the Superfruit era of their lives. There's a lot of reflection and processing in those songs. I love it and it breaks me - both. I think that even though these songs are not acapella, the industry paints the EP with the same brush as Pentatonix and the "acapella artists can't go mainstream" prejudice prevails. Drives me nuts. They did get quite a bit of traction in the LGBTQ+ community and did live concerts at several Pride events, and that was very cool.
💯💯 Even though it wouldn't have gotten air time (because of prejudice!), they went ALL out with the songs and productions. All of their videos are unique and aesthetically pleasing. Their lyrics aren't just for fun, I want people to PAY ATTENTION to them. It's one of the best albums out there because you can see how much this meant to them.
They did a mini tour around the US on this album. I saw them in Boston and it was one of the absolute best shows I've ever been to in a long line of great shows.
@@calipidgious I saw them in Chicago on the Future Friends tour and it was amazing. It was a small club with all general admission. I was close enough for Scott to sweat on me from stage.
This is their story. They have said in MANY interviews that they had to work hard to get back to the friends they are now after breaking up in high school. It shows how horrified they were at times at the way they were to each other. In the grand scheme of things it was a short time, but in the end it was a lot of work and worth it. Hence the Future Friends, The whole Future Friends album is basically "their" story.
Love this song so much ❤️ it does remind me of their friendship a lot. I'm not entirely convinced it TRULY applies to them but I hope... I just miss their old friendship some days. I think it does depict two people have fought and then one day can become friends. Man there's just none other like Superfruit. Sigh. Isn't this song and video phenomenal in every aspect?? There is an alternate version, I should link you that.
Love your reactions. I know you changed your reaction schedule and that's OK but man do I miss your daily ptx Superfruit reactions!!!! This whole album is awesome you can listen straight through no songs you'd want to skip!
Thanks so much for another great reaction! One big glaring hole in your Superfruit playlist is Defying Gravity. I really think you'll enjoy that one. I'd like to see you smile and have a laugh!
It may seem an odd recommendation, but might I suggest the Brian Robert Jones choir remix of this song for a reaction? They posted it as a sort of final wrap up for Future Friends and while the lyrics are unchanged, the vibe and feeling are completely different. It's really it's own piece.
Love all aspects of this-visual, arrangement, etc. Although not from the Future Friends album, I would love for you to react to See Through (audio only, Mitch centered) and Waving Through a Window (from the Dear Evan Hanson musical, Scott centered).
lol I love your face when the beat drops, and you give a little Mickey Mouse giggle at 03:19 .. i love it! This is one of my favorites from their album.
Love everything about this EP. Each track is just perfect pop and the videos are great fun. Its a shame they don't get any airplay. I've never heard any PTX nor Superfruit on the radio here in the UK. I try to spread the word. I'm still waiting for Goodbye to Lonely lol
Just been through your PTX playlist and realised you haven't reacted to 'Misbehavin'. An original written by Scott and Mitch I believe. You won't be disappointed.
I like this. It's touching, but the video is very funny and the beat danceable. As others have mentioned, they dated briefly in 2009 and it didn't end pretty. Lots of Superfruit fans are/were shipping them together, but considering they're working together, keeping it platonic is the wise thing to do even if they wanted to do something and now Scott seems very happy with Mark. Apparently, the visual joke of the body doubles being way more muscular than the people they're portraying is a reference to Spongebob Squarepants. :D I only found the Future Friends album earlier this year and it is a shame. It's a great pop album that RCA records apparently didn't market very hard. I don't know if some of the themes were still considered too risque in 2017. Then again, I almost missed the Lucky Ones too, because I wasn't following Pentatonix as closely last year.
Im not sure if you seen this or not theres a a video called Ghost ft. Scott Hoying im not sure who the main singer is but its fun to watch. Also have you seen Scott doing a solo I should tell ya mama on you.
I have suggested songs from "Future Friends" but this wasn't one. I like all the FF songs, and think you will like all of them so I hope you will eventually get to my favorites.

100% agree
I totally agree. I’ve felt the same things.

Yes, the whole album is inspired by them and their friendship journey.

These two were born to sing together, my favorite superfruit song
A sad break-up song despite the fun video. It wasn’t too long after this that the boys gave up the house they shared and went out on their own.
I miss there friendship
Loved your reaction. This is about them and their relationship. Thanks!!

Watching Superfruit just makes me wistful…..sigh. Still do it, though!

Same lol. I'm totally fine with not doing PTX/SF every day, I MISS it.
I vote for a Superfruit live hangout when the whole album is reacted to. Upvote this... all songs, all videos, all the freakin love.
Just waiting patiently for #12 from The Sing-off and Vacation from Superfruit.

I love this so much
Agree with this
I came here to say this. That version just hits different.
Yes, but watch it AFTER you’ve seen all the other FF videos.
@@cellokimmy good point, I agree completely, it’s essential for full emotional impact
All of these Superfruit songs are a vibe! They are just fun! Love how you appreciate their music! Thanks for the fun and the reaction!
Agree, this whole album is amazing

I love how delighted you are by Superfruit, and I heartily agree! Well done. Peace from Ohio …
Great reaction! Looking forward to your next SuperFruit song. The whole album is so great.
Thanks for doing Future Friends!!! They are an amazing duo!
Me, I suggested this at least once - ditto below on the Brian Robert Jones Remix version
lol I love your face when the beat drops, and you give a little Mickey Mouse giggle at 03:19 .. i love it! This is one of my favorites from their album.
I wish they still made music together. This is my favorite song from FF.
I really love this song and I really love how excited you get when reacting to their songs.
Yes, yes, yes....thx again!
I just love the joy you get from SF... it's all good, all of it!! More please.🔥🔥
Love everything about this EP. Each track is just perfect pop and the videos are great fun.

You probably heard that Messer is dropping a song tomorrow (Friday). I hope you react to it.
