My personal top 3 pre-show: Shkodra Elektronika, Ardit, Elvana… Ardit’s instrumental is just so good to jam to in my car, I don’t mind the lack of lyrics, but if he’s not putting on a fantastic show to go with it, I’m sure it’ll drop out of my faves for Eurovision. The rest of my top 10 keep shifting around. I’ve loved this year’s selection and have downloaded more than I usually would!
Sadly I dont really understand the hype around Karnival. Is it decent? Yes. Is it fun? For sure, but it also just feels like a standard girlbop. Im sure it would do well at Eurovision though.
My twitter deep dive and eurovisionworld.com deep dive would suggest some people are like you. I loved it on instant listen so surprised people who love POP/BOPs are critical BUT that's music taste for you...diverse and not predictable ❤️
@@ShanesEurovisionReview Yeah. Ive always been more of a ballad guy so im probably not in a place to critique pop/bop songs. For all I know I might end up loving the live performance, same thing happened with SloMo.
@@ShanesEurovisionReviewI like it, it’s catchy af and a proper ear worm. But it’s also fairly generic bop. I’m holding out judgement until we see the FiK performance but right now I feel like there are better options to be Eurovision competitive. And herein lies one of the dilemmas in picking the song very early.
There is one winner and that winner will represent Albania 🇦🇱 in Eurovision next year, this year people abroad can also vote for their favourite song and artist.
Nooo 😱! Number one Elvana??? You??? I am in shock. Completely k.o, didn't expect that 😵! 🤣🤣🤣🤣Just kidding off course, NOT at all surprised 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And yeeeaayy my 3 favourites are in your top10; Elvana, Ardit and Jet 🤩🤩🤩. I like Elvana and Ardit very much but I am obsessed with Jet, it has me caught me in a spell, can't stop listening to that one. For me it sounds like a movie soundtrack and for Eurovision I think it could do something VERY cool. I also think it has a favour in the national because of the orchestra that is already in it.
the way I've been screaming crying dancing and singing the lyrics "Se jeta o' si karnaval, dhe m'bon m'u ni e gjallë Bailando, uno, dos, tres e mos u ndal" ever since the day it got released. im convinced she put some kind of illegal substance to this buildup bcs why does it get me soo hyped up
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha YES Amer!!!! I'm the same. On instant liaten...I was like...WAIT....is this the best song EVER haha. As you said illegal substance in this FOR SURE 😄
We share Kleansa, Lorenc and Ardit. I don’t get the Elvana hype… pleasant song, but doesn’t drive me to ecstasy… maybe after the live performance I’ll have an epiphany à la SloMo? Hopefully. That way I can keep abreast with my fave reactors 😂 💜
Shane Elvana is nice but I’m afraid the jury won’t appreciate it’s more commercial bop to me I would go with Ardit he will deliver good zjermi shkodra and as ballad I love Fryma. Can’t wait to watch them live from USA though
I still have to properly workout a ranking but these are the 10 that hit my Green Tier; Algert, Alis, Ardit, Elvana, Erma, Jet, Klea, Lorenc, Orgesa and Shkodra Elek. So we agree on 7 here then, not bad 🫡 Nooo Shane! Can’t believe you cut Erma immediately 😭 Mal’s song this year is at least listenable compared to whatever last year was 🤣 Your reaction to that part of Zjerm is totally me btw i HATE that guy’s spoken word part so much to the point it’s defo capped potential wise in my personal ranking 💀
🥰 No surprise at all that Elvana was your favorite my friend! 💖 Here I finally get my needs for dynamics satisfied 🥰. I tried to rank my top 4, but couldn't because I like them all in different ways. ✨Jet "Gjalle" - I love his voice, it has great dynamics as well as the song! Here there is a progression from beginning to end, dynamic changes, a constant energy and power! He expresses himself emotionally in an impressive way! Fine instrumentation that contributes to the dynamics. ✨Shkodra Elektronike "Zjerm" - I really like the dynamics between instruments, voices and rhythm here. The contrasts make it very fascinating. Strings, percussion, her beautiful voice, dynamic vocals, the beat! ✨Elvana Gjata "Karneval" - Uptempo, very rhythmic which I like, very catchy, carnival atmosphere, YES! 🥰 ✨ Lorenc Hasrama "Fryme" - Love! There is tremendous power in his voice, love the passion in his singing! I like the instrumentation especially in the bridge, the progression. This FEELS, even if I don't understand what he's singing about! My honorable mentions go: ✨Algert Sala "Bosh" - Very beautiful instrumentation, nice melody with progression, a little melancholy?, nice voice! ✨Luna Causholli "Qiell apo Ferr" - Angel's voice. A sweet and warm song, beautiful, delicate, strings and piano at the end. Low-key, but in a good way. Thank you and see you soon! 😊💖
Omg 30 songs 🙉 We aren't too far apart in our views of FiK Shane My 3 against the field are Elvana, yes Shrodka Elektronike yes But my number 1 is definitely Orgesa Zaimi. Love, love, LOVE that song She also has redemption for past disappointments in the contest. Any of these 3 and I'll be satisfied and think Albania will sail to the final in Basel. Watch now for a left field jury winner and outrage from the fandom 🙈🙈😁
This time is more modernized and they have new staging techniques and technology using for the first time. Artistic director is Elhaida Dani. I like Ardit better than Elvana is ethnic bop and from the ballad I like Fryma is dedicate losing mother from cancer. His vocals are just wow. As a matter of fact backs are good all the cross of board
@ she represented Albania in Eurovision can’t remember the year I’m alive and she was sick and performed amazing was winner of voice of Italy and has a lot of international experience
Hi, Shane. A minor quibble... A few of the female bops did just fine last year. The problem was there were too many of them--especially too many generic English bops. The English lady bops totally cannibalized each other for votes. But the non-English/not entirely in English bops did okay.
@craigpacker7171 I love a quibble haha...and your analysis is fair and accurate. I think I got blind sided by a couple of my fave female bops not doing so well 😒 😐
Cant get past the fact that its just uno dos tres... From what's already there they could've done so much more with the song. She must be planning sth with that intro? I wouls prefer another winner but im not sure id be mad. Its a fun song regardless
As much as I'd like to see Albania send a man, I think Karneval is their best option here. I struggle to remember the other songs on first listen while Karneval is an immediate hook. It would do great in Eurovision.
Not shocked you have Elvana first. It is the most basic little trash bop for the most basic ESC fans to go gaga over, dumb spanish poorly inserted and all, just ripe for the "yas queen" crowd.

There’s at least five really good options here. It will come down to the live performances.
By the way Shane was waiting for your reaction so good to see you here

Yeah that part of Zjerm doesn't showcase what I think is a GREAT SONG 😊
VESA IS AMAZING ❤
I could totally see Karnaval going viral and be like Queen of Kings which was everywhere on TikTok
Not even close, just your wishfull thinking 😂

Zjerm is a much better song than Carnival and much more possible to do well with the juries.

Karnaval is not a classic girl pop its more of an anthem imo. So I won't put it in the same category
