Actually the volumes on each instrument track are perfect. The artist needs to meet the track head on. If the strings or any other instruments are really loud, the artist will have to sing over that. If the instruments are too low the artist will have to under sing it. That is not a professional recording. He may have had it louder when he originally mixed the track down, but had to level it out once they got to the recording session. I just went through that in a session recently.....I leased a track in WAV file that wasn't tracked out. The recording engineer had to turn the whole track down so the vocalist could be heard clear, but you can barely hear the track. Lesson learned for me......never lease a track that's not tracked out. If it was, my engineer would have been able to level out some of the instrumental volumes.
