- I recorded this on a cassette from a radio broadcast in back in '95. As far as I know this is not on UA-cam anywhere else, so here it is. The great Jennifer Turner on guitar.
Jennifer Turner is one of the most underrated guitarists of the 90's. Her work on Carnival is sublime.
Couldn't agree more! I'm a total guitar head and Jen's playing on that album is perfection and some of my favorite guitar playing I've heard, any genre of music!
❤ I saw her in Padre Island when their band Furslide were there. I was front and center admiring her skill and Passion playing. Too bad Furslide only did one album, it is a very good album. If anyone comes across any of Jen's early stuff, please hmu, ty
Jennifer Turner and Natalie Merchant... such a great team, creating beautiful music together.
I love to hear Jennifer play guitar... love her unique style... one of my favorite guitarist!!!
Love hearing Natalie sing, most of all watching Jennifer play those amazing melodies it’s just magical
These two artists are amazing together. Thank you for this gem.
What a gem, there were no live versions of this song on UA-cam previously. The solo is a soulful, moody piece of work.
Best ever massage song
Thanks for the upload. Great to hear a live version from that era. Shame that haunting solo doesn't go on longer. Reminiscent of the playing of the late, great Paul Kossoff on Free's 'Come Together in the Morning'. I can't really pay a higher compliment than that.
Such a powerful song. Reminds me of a very difficult time 1999, exactly this time of year, very different but someways similar to a difficult time I'm in now. Praying for deliverance.
Love you Jen
This is cosmic good 🎶☮️
Thank you so much for this! Jennifer's playing gives me chicken skin and brings on the tears. I hope others will appreciate this gem as I do.
O most definitely a perfect collaboration 🎶
We do.
I stole this album off my friends sister back in 96. I have no regrets lol. What a great album and what a great live performance here.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I LISTENED SO DEEP AND BEAUTIFULL SONG🎶🎶🎶
I CAN'T BELIEVE I READ IT!!!!🤷🏻♀️
So many thanks for sharing. It brings me back to the ninetees. Love the moody feeeling it gives. Also love the emotional guitar. Great job for everybody!
Absolutely awesome, gives me chills!
Just sublime
Unreal. What a great snapshot of just an unstoppable band in that era. Thanks for sharing!
Great track. Thanks for posting.
Wow! This is amazing. If you have any more songs to post from this broadcast I'd love to hear them. Glad you decided to upload what you have.
This is so brilliant!
Thank you! Wonderful, beautiful, amazing!!!
Thanks for posting. Pretty darn good sound for a cassette btw.
Isn't it well preserved!
❤ thank you for sharing
Her and Nori Bucci my all time favorites. Great guitarists.
Does anybody else hear the Pink Floyd vibe in this song, especially the second section? It could be part of "Live at Pompeii".
Her guitar reminds me a bit of Mark Knopfler
@@mymonkeyandmydog Reminds me of the playing of David Lindley, but most of all, of Jennifer Turner. My God.
These two are oddly like Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Mick and Keef - I mean, I'm a guitarist, and so the guitar is important to me... but I try to get into Natalie's other stuff, and it's just not there for me. Together, these two could really create a perfectly meshed vibe that's much greater than the two parts.
Reminds me of Peter Green.
Indeed it does. Amazing.
I can't imagine what Natalie was thinking by dismissing the Tigerlily band, most especially Jennifer. She's never been as interesting live in my opinion as that line-up was.
Best guitar solo ever by a woman
How about simply best solo?
