Hi, looks great! Any update on how it's holding up? Any soft spots from foam wear? I saw from another quesrion that you used 1x4 timber. Can I ask about spacing and foam distribution? It looks like more than 1 square per square foot?
Tried a pergo type surface years ago. Too slippery! Especially for tap dancers. That makes a great base, but needs to covers with marley/Rosco material.
@@mikeshuck2760 we tested a bunch of pergo to find one with just the right slip to grip ratio and we have been very happy with it for over 5 years. It is not preferable for pointe work but works well for tap it's just that the tap dust was too much of a hassle and damages the pergo so fast that we started covering it with 4'x8' sheets of ballroom floor material that was donated to us. All in all the pergo is solid for most styles and has held up well but it matters what kind you get.

Amazing no soft spots!
Great idea..
Yeeeeeee!
Awesome video! I'd love to know what materials you used if you don't mind sharing. What was the first tarp like material you rolled out and why? :)
Hello Ellie. The tarp is a plastic moisture barrier to protect the wood that the floor is made of from warping
Wow, I gotta find those dudes who can move that fast.
Hi! What type of plywood did you use? OSB, Birch, Maple?
Great video! So, It's been 5 years...how did your Pergo hold up?
Still going strong!
Could I please ask as we are about to replace our flooring. What size are the grid Timbers please
the grid was made with 1x4 lumber
Did you screw the wood to the floor, or screw the plywood to the wood? Or does it all just float on top of each other.
Plywood to the wood
Love this video. I was wondering exactly what type of foam are you using for the blocks?
Thanks Marlon! the foam is an E.V.A. foam from wisconson foam products.
What kind of flooring?
Amazing video! Whats the thickness of the eva foam? And whats your finishing top layer?
I believe it is inch and half foam with 8mill pergo for the surface layer
