Well I've decided to support the developer and bought the founder version for $5. The game seems to have its stuff together and I like the more user-friendly "LEGO Technic" like building system.
Yup, had a lot of fun with the demo, now this Early Access version is much improved. Later on you get 2 and 3 stage shifters which have allowed me to make awful gearboxes.
I'm upset the game is getting review bombed because they removed the tech tree. And now for those of us who actually like the new progression better will have to suffer because they are reverting the tech tree back next update. People are so whiny these days I tell ya
@PitBull51091 I definitely understand that pain and sympathize with the community but at the same time I understand the developers side of things. And from what I can guess the games engine had an overhaul including it's save game database. Meaning it wasn't really possible to transfer data. Who knows they may find a workaround.
I’m glad you’re playing this game. I’ve been watching other UA-camrs play, and they don’t have any simple/complex machinery knowledge. Or more importantly, practical experience. I hope you continue to play and make some cool vehicles
Two things. a) Needs a minimap or a viewable map while in free drive to make collecting chests easier. b) Need to be able to nudge parts left, right etc as it kept using the wrong hole when trying to place beams. But great for free, has real potential, good fun :-)
@@torinpena288 It takes like 7 seconds of continuous scrolling up or down for it to work for me. I genuinely just thought the most recent update had broken that feature, since I saw it in plenty of videos, but it would just make an annoying noise and do nothing at all for me. My main gripe is the building system in general being so restrictive, as well as clunky. You can't move pieces, you can't temporarily move groups of pieces to modify things beneath them, the game requires a separate key stroke for deselecting a part you're not aiming at, just so you can delete another, etc. It's just so tedious that I cannot be bothered to build a car, because if I don't make it perfect the first time, I may have to erase half of it and rebuild it.
This game was so promising, and then I tried to use the building system. After 45 minutes of floundering with things as simple as trying to turn beams 90 degrees in order to mount things in a different direction, make beams align on the pegs, which required me to scroll for several seconds before it would respond to my input, despite making the sound, and the number of moves you need to think ahead in order to even try and make a transmission without realizing there's 8 pieces mounted together blocking a hole you need for an "axis", I realized that playing with these toys work best in real life, and not in a video game, using a mouse and keyboard. If only you could, much like the actual toys the building system is so frustratingly based off of, pull off entire assemblies of pieces in order to make changes to an area at once. I enjoyed everything about the game, except building the cars, which seems to be the primary purpose.
Class can be found under X then details button (top Left) They have a "web" of car types, tiny, huge, horse power etc. It is very satisfying when you finally nail the "S+" rank car with 4 speed transmission that crosses the speed trap at 189. Fat rubber lines in 1st, with some marks in 2nd. Just need to nail the races.
I built a car that has a top speed of 636 mph. It couldn't get faster simply because it would teleport to the other side of the map and lose all speed when airborne.
One big thing ive learned is there is a little jankiness to the acceleration stat. I found after hours of testing having a top speed of 350 and acceleration of 50 is actually worse than a top speed of like 200 and acceleration of 40. Im not sure why but the game seems to scale the acceleration with max speed but doesnt proplerly display it. So keep in mind when pushing for speeds of 300+ it doesnt matter how high you get that acceleration. It will always take you 20+ seconds to get to that speed and for some reason you accelerate even slower to the lower speeds. Even after adding stepping engines to power the lower transmission. Idk if im just missing something or if theres some weird quirk in their system. Please let me know if you find similar results Tldr. Less is better for some reason
Lmfao i did the SAME EXACT THING the first time with that race. I smashed through the carts then realized at the next checkpoint when the AI went from behind to in front of me and my reaction was literally EXACTLY the same
Why does this game look so different here from when Scrap played it? Big update that changed the campaign menu a bunch? Was cool how in Scrap's there were a bunch or requirements to enter a given event.
I was waiting the whole video for Kan to figure out the game magically makes the wheels roll forwards no matter what you do with the gears like Kosmo did.
i know i am 3 weeks late but 6:18, ikea furniture??!! really? that's the first thought? 😅🤣maybe look into Lego Technics sometime sir or Lego robot sets. anyways this is the first time i saw this game and video recommended by yt so 👍
I would be a bit careful with making bulding games with parts that are similar looking to LEGO. Technic is a much newer thing and there might still be patents on the block designs.
Hey kan great content! This game is similar to gear blocks but more arcade style and made simpler to carch a larger demographic, you have automatic shifters, that shift for you or you can program a hotkey
13:34 ''There's always a tree here for some reason''
Well yeah, they don't generally tend to move.
😆
kAN, kAN, kAN of the jungle, fast as he can be.
WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!
Dad joke energy (thats a good thing)
It's more of a problem when the tree is only there sometimes.
kan when he finds out gear shifting
😂😂😂😂 lol
You are right
This game fits perfectly with his channel
fr this is w game for the channel
been playing a lot finished all the races last night now going back for gold
lmfao i've already 100% the game but it's so fun
Well I've decided to support the developer and bought the founder version for $5. The game seems to have its stuff together and I like the more user-friendly "LEGO Technic" like building system.
Technic was so much fun, thats why I downloaded this game and im loveing it.
technicis just better than regular
Yup, had a lot of fun with the demo, now this Early Access version is much improved. Later on you get 2 and 3 stage shifters which have allowed me to make awful gearboxes.
Yeah, I made a 6 stage gear box that spent more time shifting gears then accelerating
I'm upset the game is getting review bombed because they removed the tech tree. And now for those of us who actually like the new progression better will have to suffer because they are reverting the tech tree back next update. People are so whiny these days I tell ya
@@BraydonAttoe-xs4yg I'm dissapointed that all progress from demo is gone...

Wait, is the early access out? I only tried the next fest demo
We need more of this game! 100% career mode, sandbox multiplayer? Remaking real cars! Remaking Lego Technic Remakes of Cars that are remakes of cars?!
I’m glad you’re playing this game.

Boy I have good news for you--b is already in the game. Scrolling switches the connection point--at least with beams.
you can scroll if on keyboard and mouse and at the end of the game you get a compass for collecting chests but its kinda hard to see.
@@S0m3wun Yes I spotted the Scroll option after posting my original comment 🙂

"Hello there" 14:54
It's him!
hes like great another racing game i cant get away from the ctr guys lol
Who dis nerd smh
Kan's natural enemies, the [CTR] crew...
General Kenobi!
Just wait till unlocks combustion engines and finds out you can make a hybrid.
2:35 not sure if you figure this out, but the cars are the bronze silver and gold times
I've been searching for a game like this for free to feed my engineeing personality thanks
I want a game like this on my phone for passing time building contraptions or just working out mechanical ideas I'm thinking about
Ikea? Your first thought was Ikea?
I have good news for you; if you like this game, you'll love Lego Technic.
Oh man! Downloaded it and I've already probably put 5hrs into it lol! LOVE THIS GAME ALREADY!!
I wish I had money to do a super thanks thingy, I really love the content of this game
I feel like this game has a lot of potential and depth. Good video kAN.
based cbad
hi yannick!!
14:22 i mean the speedometer has a big ol 1 in it which to me says its in 1st gear so id assume itd be easier to do shifting here than in gearblocks
Im glad kAN is doing videos on this. I enjoy this game and now I'll learn how to make better transmissions
2:40 The other cars matter, 1 is bronze speed, another is silver and the one in front is always the gold time

I downloaded this game today and now there are 10 extra hours of playtime on my steam playtime
Definitely interested in seeing more Screw Drivers because this seems to be your type of stuff.
I’ll check this out I think, if my laptop can even run it 🤣
This is like K'nex, they were a building system toy like lego but more advanced, they even sometimes came with electronics
man, this is pretty cool compared to free games from back in the day, like falling sand
Awesome video as always! Would love to see more of this game!
I knew you'd play this.. and I knew you'd enjoy it :) It was only a question of when
I love this game and GEARBLOCKS!!!! we need more of these engineering car building type games. tickles my brain
I'm amazed this game is free, they could charge like $5 and I'm sure may will buy it.
kan you are gonna love what you unlock in a few races XD
the devs consist of 2 guys. super active in the discord and listen to all ideas.
I built a car that has a top speed of 636 mph. It couldn't get faster simply because it would teleport to the other side of the map and lose all speed when airborne.
13:35 Idk KAN. I think I prefer my race courses where the trees don't randomly change positions.
Knew I'd see you playing this sooner or later. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with once you have more of the parts!
Who ever made this, yeah isn't making money with it being free, has one hell of resume addition...
You could try adding rear steering to counteract the understeer. Or just wait until you get some wheels that have wider tyres
I loved someone's comparison to LEGO Technic. Feels about right to me.
Place all your motors on a central drive then split to front and rear gears

Acceleration should be based on torque, do you have good grip and weight so you don’t slip?
The ratio would be too high, sounds like there's a sweet spot beyond which you don't have enough 'oomph' to drive a higher ratio effectively.
00:50 me when my RWD is constantly in reverse with backwards steering
Lmfao i did the SAME EXACT THING the first time with that race. I smashed through the carts then realized at the next checkpoint when the AI went from behind to in front of me and my reaction was literally EXACTLY the same
This reminds me of robotics so much, except he doesn't have to keep parts in place from sliding lol.
I'm happy to see kan actually trying out this game
kAN: "IKEA"
Me: you pronounced "Lego" wrong...
Would love to see you play more of this game 👍🏽
Why does this game look so different here from when Scrap played it?
Big update that changed the campaign menu a bunch? Was cool how in Scrap's there were a bunch or requirements to enter a given event.
they have IC engines... with turbos!! (from what I could see on the steam store page)
I was waiting the whole video for Kan to figure out the game magically makes the wheels roll forwards no matter what you do with the gears like Kosmo did.
“RWD” while the front is where the driveshaft and gear is
that was funny seeing a zeepkist player on the leaderboard
I played this game a couple weeks ago, it was really fun, i think I recommend to to you once
Seems like modern legoRacers2 which I loved
I just saw this game but I allready want to download it.
Kan there is actually two gear shifters one can shift between 2 gear shift an the other one can shift between 3 gears
I downloaded this during the steam next fest and knew id see kan play. Now im happy
With Cbad on the leaderboard, already, just wait a short while and maki will probably be there to have every 1st place...
About buying part you own its just like Mars First Logistics ! Pretty sure you'd like that game too

Would love to see more lf this, Kan!
the lake has a very strong shape
When Kan finds out that he can do stunts and other stuff to work down the part tree as well. As always great video 👏👏
that was the progression in the Demo, in the current version it works differently
@DuckcuD Ohh got you, makes sense
In the full release you can explore the map to find parts and beat the career missions to unlock important components.
I went the wrong way on that course too!! 😂
Lol it took me way too long to figure out I was going the wrong way. I was stuck on that race forever. I thought it was practically unbeatable.
I've just downloaded this after watching, cant wait to play
Scrap got #2 behind Cbad in that race.
sadly they took out the skill tree going into publishment >:C
Looks really fun, definitely want to see more. Multiplayer?
basically lego racers remastered

I tried building a differential once I got the gears for it. It did not work as well as I had hoped.
Who's Jian, his S class time on "Race Between The Rocks" is fishy
No idea what makes up classes either. I know it's more than just engines/engine power
Can't wait for more screw drivers content
Building system looks like Lego Technic.
this reminds me of lego racers!
Cool game. Can't wait to see what you do in it.
You should play the game much more like ım down to see just this game till you complete it
Yeah 3am here in Germany, best time for a kan video 😂
The moment he finds the parts tree everyone is losing
Yeah that second race that i also smashed through the carts in the road
full series please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's like lego and wood toys building rc cars
We need screw drivers multiplayer kan
7:48 bro I made that same mistake and notice right when u did
Hybird engine more effectif how to make : combustion engine + electric engine = hybird engine
can't wait for sandbox
how is this game different every time I watch a new perspective?
Reminds me of LEGO Technic
The class might be based on part count
Kinex In A Nutshell.
15:04 this is funny
I think e-class means electric class
reminds me of GearBlocks
I am addicted and I am going to make videos too... if my computer can handle the game and recording it at the same time... ...
Id love this in sandbox mode. Id not be interested in the actual game side of it.
Gear shifters at rank 3
This game is awsome
very cool, i want more.
