Thank you sooo much for your videos. I am 70 years of age, just retired, and a few months back picked up my clubs again for the first time in 20 years. (Too busy to play!) Anyway .... discovered my body had stiffened significantly over 20 years and I was struggling to strike the ball with any sort of consistency or power. I was about ready to sell my whole bag then stumbled upon your videos. WOW! You simplify the single plane swing in a way that is both understandable and applicable. I had worked on copying Moe's swing through the instructions on another UA-cam channel but just couldn't seem to get it. You have breathed a fresh breath-of-life into my game! Still working, but hitting the ball again in a way that is both fun and consistent!
I've been playing for only two years, and have been struggling. My buddy found your channel and sent me a link. I watched this video at least 4 times (along with a few others), and practiced the setup in the house. I shot my best game ever today, easily taking 20 strokes off. Thanks for making these videos!
In addition to all this excellent information about hitting the driver, I think we all would like to impress our friends by teeing the ball with our foot! Tony Griffin Setup 4 Impact Master Instructor Sanford NC
Great stuff I have been watching you for a while and have been practicing your swing and getting results but still a work in progress. You are a good teacher and you have students clients doesn't sound as good.thanks again!
Hey Kirk, I started playing "Natural golf" a few years ago and it certainly helped me, but I always felt like I was cheating by adjusting my grip or not keeping my feet on the ground (among other things). I stumbled across your videos and you talk about all my "cheats". I'm playing with so much more confidence now! Just wanted to thank you! I look forward to more videos
Great lesson Kirk.. The part about pulling up on the handle really makes sense and I’ve never really heard that before. Do you have a video on what the left shoulder is doing through impact.? Because it looks like as you rotate left shoulder is actually pulling up and it looks like that’s what’s pulling up the club for increase speed. Is that correct?
Can't wait till I can get back outside to practice Setup4Impact and play again. This video will get saved in my watch list to come back to when the driver starts to go array. I've tried Drill 1 with a driver with my net, it may be the hardest of clubs to do that with but if I can master it I am sure it will help. Could you add a link in the video description as to where you get the impact stickers? I also want to know how long it took to get that move for teeing up the ball down, not that I'll ever need it as I always seem to snap it! 😂
Thanks for your great videos. Inconsistencies with the driver are holding me back (stuck on 12 handicap). Pull hook left is my bad shot. Just signed up for your free videos. Looking at subscribing to the full package after that. Hoping that will help to build some consistency 🙏. Regards
Absolutely huge improvement to my game at 70 years. The struggle is timing the impact with the lifting up a little as demonstrated by the swinging pendulum. When I do get it timed correctly the strike and distance is huge. Any recommendations on this aspect of the swing would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Kirk, great video lesson. Question: At 5:42 point in video, you talked about teeing it slightly lower and moving ball back just inside lead foot and with that you would want to align your body 10 - 15 yards left of target...why is that?
Because the impact angle of attack would by slightly down we need to aim a bit left. When the club is moving down into impact it is actually moving to the right of target.
Thanks Kirk for another great lesson. I have become way more consistent with your take on the golf swing.Could you please do a lesson on hitting the 3 wood as i am struggling a bit with the longer clubs.Thank you!
Great suggestion! I recommend doing the drills with the 3 wood so as to get a feel for it. I show some drills here on my channel, and you can see my complete learning program at setup4impact.com/online/
Hi Rick, I am sure that I have videos on that here on my channel. Maybe search hitting off the heel, or shanking. Typically we would just setup farther away. Using the impact labels help a lot as well.
Looking down the line, which tree in the distance is your target line? The tree with a white stake just to the right to At 2:42 in the video; club head, teed ball and then three balls about 20 feet in line with a single tree in the distance?
I do not think I was hitting the ball then at any target at that point in the video. Typically the toe line would be toward the target if not slightly left of target due to the leading foot being turned out.
You need to put out a video on how you place the ball on the tee with just your driver and your foot. It would save a lot of stress on the back at the range. Very impressive!
I had a spinal fusion on August 9th, 2021 everything is perfect so far. I did not want to do it, but I had no choice. I have just started back playing golf again twice in the last 6 weeks. Still not swinging just punching the ball at best. I am now a new subscriber to your channel and will be doing as much research as I can on your swing technics. Hopefully, it will be something I am comfortable with, as I am still afraid to swing a full swing at all. P.S. my doctor say everything would be just fine just still very afraid.
I have always had the club face even with my hands at impact. Some great shots but dispersion is bogey golf at best. Also lower back pain on my right side. This sounds like it could solve a lot of my issues.
My whole system is setup to help fix that issue which is due to an early release. You will find a lot of videos here on my channel for free, or you can follow my step by step program at setup4impact.com/online/
Kirk, you always said not to worry too much about the backswing because it will fall naturally in position with your method. I have found that statement to be true since I started to use my left arm (I am right handed) to push straight back (while turning) around my body and under the chin while my "non rotational" arm simply went slong for the ride. Conclusion is that I did not have to think about my hands or where the club positions should be at all. Just that single thought to kick start the backswing has provided me with great consistency with minimal mental or physical effort . I am 76 years old with a 5 handicap. What are your thoughts on this and thanks for all you do.
Was always hitting my irons all over the places with no compression. Wedges always to right. With the single plane, wrists up, I'm hitting wedges dead straight. Irons to be used tomorrow. I just have to remember to turn and post on my lead foot. Hard sometimes for a 77 yr. old.

Yes, the left shoulder is rotating up and around the body as it must do in any good golf swing.

Have to practice holding the ball against your foot and lifting it up and setting it down. With practice comes precision. ;)

I will help you improve!! Hook is likely due to releasing early. My drills will teach you how to move properly.
great explanation
Glad you liked it

I am not sure what you mean by lifting up. The best players are mostly hitting the driver level, or slight down coming into impact.

@@Setup4Impact Thank you! That would be a great help.
Do you have any videos for hitting off the heel with the driver. I think I have developed early extension as a lefty my ball is going short and left.
Hi Rick,
I am sure that I have videos on that here on my channel. Maybe search hitting off the heel, or shanking.

When you are aiming your club do you aim the club at the target or left of the target

You may have to stand more open to make the swing after impact easier on your body.
Is there any difference between what your sharing and how Moe Norman played the game?or Graves Golf for that matter?
There are many very big differences which will speed improvement and produce much better results. ua-cam.com/video/nvk38iDenKw/v-deo.html

Would you recommend everyone that wants to swing in a single plane to go with the jumbo grips?
No, I would not, but I would recommend trying them. My sizing info is at setup4impact.com/faq/

Hi kirk
Hi Peter!
is no one gonna mention how he casually teed up another ball with his driver and foot?
Doesn’t everybody do it that way?
Im good at half swings but when i do a full swing the face closes. How come do you think?
Early release is most likely. I show you step by step how to fix it at setup4impact.com/online/
