Also curse energy is toxic so he also might just neg gon’s durability since he can’t reinforce his body with curse energy even low level curses just passively sitting on you can cause shoulder or back pains and in worse cases like Sukuna’s fingers or grade 1 curses they can poison and kill you. The only reason Megumi lived was because Sukuna specifically wanted his as a vessel. When Yuji gets blood manipulation this poisen would become a lot more powerful the point where I think if it enters Gons blood stream it over.
You didn't really bring up any actual strength feats for yuji or gon. I personally believe yuji had a better kit to win Blood manipulation allows yuji to shoot out limbs and reattach them if they get torn off from his body, yujis blood is also highly poisoned causing anyone who doesn't have good rct to die within a few minutes. Yuji has simple domain which negates sure hits and nullifies attacks sent towards him but doesn't fully nullify every attack.
