Very good and beautiful explanation. I understood that it is difficult to obtain 12 x 100 halogen lamps. So I found 50 x 12 and it is true that it is weak but today's cameras are very sensitive and there was no problem and with that I work quite a bit in transfers to customers.

I used a 10 watt chip mounted on a chunk of aluminum. The fan that cooled off the old bulb was more than adequate to cool the aluminum without putting in a giant heat sink. It wasn't really bright but I was just recording it with my digital camera anyhow. It slowed down the shutter speed so there was very little flicker.

Nice upgrade, but a note: the wires on the LED die should be the same black and white as what comes off of the driver or someone down the line could blow the LED when they see the European and UK colour codes for 240 V wires for blue-neutral and brown-live(line).

Nice work. I recently was trying to play and record onto a digital camera some super 8 films for a friend and as usual the globe was blown, I removed the globe and stuck in a led head torch. It worked but was not great. What you have done in this video is great and has given me some good ideas.
Thanks for putting this video together.
Now all i have to do is work out how to get ride of the flicker from film to digital.

You need a point source led and a condenser lense. COB led's are not good since they consist of multiple led chips which gives hot spots

Great video. I tried this and it works, but a 10W Led is on the dark side if you need to project a movie. I think you will need a 30W Led. But kudos for the idea. Buying a 30W Led floodlight is cheaper and easier than searching for all the right parts.

You can't go with the Watts as an indicator / relativity with a Halogen. The Kelvin 'temperature' and lux / lumens are the drivers when looking for a makeshift LED lamp.

Nice job . Could you make a video for a 16mm projector ? Older 16mm projectors are mechanically still very good , but the problem is sometimes the discontinuation of their light bulbs .

Nice, I was thinking doing the same but I did not.
I have all the equipment and knowledge to build a LED light for my projector but I think there could be a light color temperature issue, the cold 5000K LED light may look blue compared to the warmer 3200K tungsten bulb.

Then use a warmer led light

The use of LEDs to replace wide-bandwidth lamps won't work properly for the very reason you describe.
You'll see his end example of test footage being very blue/washed out because of his use of a Cool White LED.
You would get the same issue (and I've tried it) with a Warm White LED, but it would be a strong reddish tinge with blue areas of the image almost non-existent.
      No LEDs have wide-bandwidth output.

nice project. beware of some thing with these eumig projectors. you sticked the led driver right on the transformer. this can be dangerous because the entire transformer carries 220 volts. even the outside. that means if the isolations is not good you fry your led driver or hurt yourself. otherwise they are the best projectors around and will stay for many years to come

Cool white or warm white LED?

That depends on the look you're going for, both will do...

Neither Warm, Cool or Day-white LEDs will render a balanced colour image like the output of a high-bandwidth lamp would do.

How about the colour temperature of the LED , they are not very good for colour film?

I used a daylight white, and it gives nice blues, reds are fine. You can color correct if you're recording to digital.

It is good movie for those, who can made this project without of this movie. Author tried to confuse and suggest better send us and we make your order, just pay more money, or buy special movie projector from seller focushue to convert old cine to digital.
